Treasure Island (Board Game)

Love this game! Easy to teach. Doesn't feel like you are playing a board game. Have to play on non coloured side as it is hard to see some of the pens. Highly recommend.

Awesome family fun

My 10 and 7 year old picked this up within 15 mins of starting and now it's our go to game. The best thing about this game is every time it's different as you can hide the treasure anywhere!

Fun for adults

Excellent game for 3 to 5 players. Time required to play varies from 5 minutes if someone lucks the spot to 1 hour. Would not recommend for under 12s as it is a little complex. great fun playing a pirate or Long John.

Great fun, well made, not just for kids!

A scavenger hunt in boardgame form, this game is a bucket of fun for adults and children. The artwork and game parts are beautiful and the gameplay is engaging. Like many boardgames, the game is there as a frame, but the real fun comes from the group interactions. This game is interesting as it goes from competitive to co-operative as the calender date draws closer to the end and the various pirates change from wanting to selfishly win to denying a win to Long John Silver.

Great game but difficult to take out on game night

Even that is a great game, is difficult to taking out for the thematic, however, the use of the gadgets/tools that the game have to find the treasure is very fun to use it.

Really cool game. Unfortunately some of the pieces were missing. I contacted the gsme makers and they're apparently sending me the replacement pieces. Haven't seen them yet.Probably won't for a while.Any way, this game has great reviews. Its made well, and thw artwork is nice.

Treasure Island

While I have only been able to get the game to the table twice, and played as Long John each time, I feel I can safely review the experience. As a very unique experience Treasure Island shines...when you buy your own chalk ink pens (do this before opening the box and factor it in to your purchasing decision). While it is mechanically clunky, each clue is in a sense it's own tidbit of rules, the core gameplay is just a blast. I wouldn't recommend someone who hasn't played a lot of modern boardgames to invest in this experience before others but if you want a raucous, pretty, unusual gaming experience that feels more like 'playing' than 'gaming' give this a shot.

The game has been an instant hit. I have brought it out twice both with my gaming group and with casual players and it has provided a great night in both occasions.The highlight of the game is that there is no downtime for anyone, you need to be on alert for what other players are doing to deduce their clues and as long silver you are in a struggle to manage the clues and how best to get advantage of them.Will be a central game to my collection.The downside I had read before buying the gameabout the visibility of the markers on the board has not been a particular issue. I am using the sepia side of the board

Everything about this game is a delight! Can’t recommend it enough. The only criticism I have is if the layout of the manual, but you can google answers to any rules questions you might have easily, so it’s not a big deal.

Treasure of a game

Although it can take a while to get going, especially on the first couple of plays, once everyone is aware of what they can and can’t do this game is great. Bluffing from Long John, co-operation and telling lies between the pirates, all in the name of finding the treasure.
