I have this installed in a sheltered location outside, let's see how it lasts....I can access the camera remotely, control it and hear what's going on. I can speak through it, which is not a use case I will be leveraging....!If you're determined enough, you probably can set this up without their Cloud integration - as I don't know what traffic is pulled into the device or going from the device, it's on an isolated AP. I don't trust it but I will use it.

I'm severely disabled and spend a lot of time in bed so I bought three cameras to watch out the front and sides of my house.Once the cameras were plugged in and the Tapo App downloaded onto my phone it took five minutes to connect them to Wi-Fi and have them up and running. It took another few minutes to get them connected to Alexa on my two Fire tablets, also bought on QVC..The microphone is handy for speaking to people in the rooms or to scare my cats lol.The ability to rotate and tilt them means I can see inside the room as well as outside the window. They're extremely sensitive and pick up any movement which then sends an alert to my phone. Whether it's someone at the door, a car pulling up, my cats jumping onto the window sill or even just a raindrop ... MoreI'm severely disabled and spend a lot of time in bed so I bought three cameras to watch out the front and sides of my house.Once the cameras were plugged in and the Tapo App downloaded onto my phone it took five minutes to connect them to Wi-Fi and have them up and running. Whether it's someone at the door, a car pulling up, my cats jumping onto the window sill or even just a raindrop hitting the window can send me an alert.I've memory cards in each of them to they're constantly recording, so I can play back either at the time or in the morning to see what all the alerts were. The picture quality is excellent, especially the night vision.I just love these cameras and can't recommend them enough. They're excellent value for money and extremely versatile. You can have them inside or outside, either free standing or attached up high on an inside window or outside in a porch.I've had great fun watching what's going on both outside the window and inside a room.I just wish I'd bought them years ago and I'm going to buy another pair. One to put on my back kitchen window to keep an eye on the back door and one in a side room to see the other side of the garden. If you're debating whether to buy these or not, I'd say go for it, you'll not regret it.
Impressed.
Good value for money and works perfectly
Despite a few negative points, these are great cameras for their price point. I got 2 when they were on sale to go with my 2 Tapo 310 outdoor cameras. The C200 cameras are used to watch over our chicken coop. My wife loves being able to check on our hens from the house.I'll try to be brief … it's easy to set up but you need to go through the Tapo App.The setup will connect the cam to your wifi, grabbing a free IP from the DHCP server. BUT... once you are up and running you cannot change to another wifi network, so make sure you complete set up where you will use the camera. You have to do a full RESET if you want to change wifi SSID.It also works well with Synology Surveillance Station (SSS) but SSS really needs a static IP – if the camera restarts it will ... MoreDespite a few negative points, these are great cameras for their price point. You have to do a full RESET if you want to change wifi SSID.It also works well with Synology Surveillance Station (SSS) but SSS really needs a static IP – if the camera restarts it will probably get a new IP when rebooting and connection to SSS it will be lost. I fixed this problem by mapping the MAC network address of each camera to a static IP in the router. So far so good. I use SSS because captured footage is stored out of the camera, in case someone destroys the camera outside. You do need a micro SD card to use the recording features (not included). You can view events in the App but you cannot directly access the card unless you pop it into your computer. All the events for a day are concatenated into a single video file for that day.Remote access (ability to watch your camera from outside your house) is managed by TP-link in the App and you need to create an account, so your IP and video stream is definitely going through China. For this reason I use them for outdoor surveillance only and my cameras do not show anything personal inside my house. Yeah, I do not fully trust the security on these things so place them carefully. OK for our chickens though. The PTZ features work well. Plenty of movement range. I think they work best mounted upside down, as there is less image skewing as the camera pans. Resolution is good enough. Night vision range is quite adequate too.
It's honestly a great value for money, it works really well and has been very reliable so far, so much so that i have bought another one afterward.Sometimes the app sends some alerts that it detected something, and there is nothing to be seen on the recording so the only explanation is that my house is haunted, I've made peace with it.
Easy to use, and awesome quality. Broadcasts to your phone anywhere in HD. Night mode is great. Rotates 360. Don't need to buy expensive cameras when this one does everything.
Positively surprised by the ease of installation and use. Far better than the previous camera I had that was 3x the price
