TP-Link - C400HP-4 3MP Turret Network Camera VIGI 4mm Lens

Now that I've had few weeks of experience with the two units I bought, I'll upgrade my rating as I've found that they can work with Blue Iris 4 provided you keep the (Windows) VIGI app open or running minimised. Without that the video stream frame rate in Blue Iris degrades and soon becomes unusable. The IR-illuminated nighttime image is quite good for one of the most inexpensive wired IP cameras available and (this 4mm lens version) is evenly lit across the 90° diagonal view. The camera is not outdoor rated and the housing is made of a very light snap-together plastic. However, the compact internals (with a "Star" brand processor) are mounted on a single PCB and seem to be quite good quality. The camera is not outdoor rated and the housing is made of a very light snap-together plastic. However, the compact internals (with a "Star" brand processor) are mounted on a single PCB and seem to be quite good quality. As such this camera is ideal for repurposing the internals into another housing that more stealthy or weatherproof. The initial setup using TP-Link's VIGI app is simple and seems robust but ONVIF does not appear to be present for generic NVR applications such as BI. For that you need to manually address the stream as /stream1.

Having no web based GUI this camera is hard to set up. You need a phone app first to read the QR code and register it on TP-Link's server and then a 100MB Windows app to access all the settings you expect to see. Until I did all that it was not even recognised as an ONVIF camera by NVR software Blue Iris. There is no information supplied as to the path needed to access the main video stream so you need ONVIF to work. When running with Blue Iris it struggles to produce the default 20 FPS rate, frequently dropping to much lower rates, hardly above 1 FPS. Using the Windows-based or smartphone app it works OK. The picture quality is mediocre, not nearly as good as the Reolink I also bought recently for hardly any more money. Bought two. One in garage other down driveway. Real easy to setup only one wire to run as POE.Con VIGI Surveillance Manager is Windows only not mac. To change date and time can only do in Manager not in iOS app

Very lightweight plastic housing, not sure how well they will do outside, I have them setup inside while configuring my NVR before final install at a new build. Bought these for less critical areas - backyard, and side entrances where better cameras already record people coming onto the property. Didn't realise til now these have no mic. 3MP is okay, but any 4MP/5MP Dahua/HiLook etc will blow these away. For the price, they're okay for secondary cameras - but if you want good CCTV of people and vehicles stealing your stuff and breaking into your house, get something better for your primary cameras.
