This tells you the main character of this series whole story. It's really a great series. One you get to the last book you'll be so so invested in the main character. I've almost cried throughout this series. This author is great!

Sara J Mass is literally my new favorite author. I finished this entire series in a week and I have no regrets. It such a wonderful masterpiece.

We can attribute this to the fact that these five stories READ LIKE A FULL LENGTH BOOK that skipped forward at times but I ENJOYED IT SO MUCH.I loved getting to know Sam and Arobynn and re-meet the assassin Celaena Sardothien. If we saw Celaena brazen side in the last novella, we were introduced to the one with the kind heart here and I loved it.3) THE ASSASSIN AND THE DESERT:This was the novella I was MOST excited for because this kept getting mentioned in the series and I was VERY excited to see what Celaena's training was like, and it was also the novella that disappointed me the most. It had too little training and action and too much running across the sand and friendship. It didn't seem like supremely hard training (but then again, what do I know?) and I was sort of waiting for it to be done with.4) THE ASSASSIN AND THE UNDERWORLD:THIS WAS BY FAR MY FAVOURITE NOVELLA. Celaena is back at Rifthold, a changed Assassin, with Arobynn and Sam and I loved the tensions that arose and the characters we met (hello, Lysandra) and fine new Assassin outfits.Full Review on A Thousand Words A Million Books
Celaena is such an amazing character and learning more about her backstory is fascinating. This novellas are in chronological order and read more like a novel than a collection of novellas. I recommend reading this after Heir of Fire and before Queen of Shadows. Sarah makes you fall in love with all of the new characters (especially Sam).
I reread this series in preparation for the last installment. This wasn't out when I originally started reading them. It really filled in some gaps and gave me a better understanding of Celaena. I would recommend you read this as the first in this series.
This book made me sob uncontrollably. It's heartbreaking, but you need to read the short stories before you read Empire of Storms.
Beautiful cover, a great series. This, though, are prequels of events happening before Throne of Glass. It's really good to know the main character's background stories and see what became of her as an assassin. Lots of epic fantasy readers has got to pick this up. You won't be disappointed.
This is the book that comes before the series truly begins. You get a better understanding of the main character by reading this. And it gives you a little extra reading before the greatest series of all time.
Bought this by accident. I meant to get the first book in the thrones of glass series and somehow ended up with this instead. If this is what TOG is like sign me up! The short stories are excellent and exciting. I loved that I could read one mini story in a sitting and then take a break from something else.
