Obvioulsly it goes without saying the quality of Tolkien. But this edition is beautiful and very well down.
I stopped ordering books on Amazon because the conditioning they would arrive. This came packaged with care. One of the most beautiful books for the price.
The edition is beautifully made. From The One Ring text printed on the page side of the book to the illustrations by Tolkien himself. The is a fantastic hardcover with the entirety of the LOTR in one volume.
An amazing tale, all three books in one hardback. The author's illustrations add a better description of how he imagined these locations. Must buy.
The first time I read this book was in 1969 on my way to boot camp and have read it several times since then. The only book I have read several times. Too many books and so little time. Not only is this my favorite book but it is also my son's, my brother's and both of his boys. I bought this new edition as Bday presents for my son and another one for my brother since I already have premium editions of the series. Unfortunately for me this new edition is enclosed in plastic wrap so I haven't seen the inside yet. Darn it. But it seems to be high quality paper and cover. I envy them and may buy one for myself too. How can you go wrong with everything that is included?
Best edition I've ever seen. The book is beautiful just to look at, and even comes with two maps of Middle Earth. The story within is timeless and is one of the greatest ever told. I will definitely treat this book as a family heirloom!
The Lord of the Rings is a family favorite. This volume is the Christmas gift our adult sons will savor!!!!!
