Swann 1080P Wire-free Security Camera White

These cameras simply cannot be relied upon for security! Cameras constantly disconnect, they take ages to wake (if they wake at all). Sporadic notifications (or none at all). Trigger sensor is so slow that vehicles have usually passed well before it starts recording. Image quality is atrocious even for 1080p - can't see a number plate from 2.5m. Night vision is poor, and in a security sense is practically useless. There is no PC/Mac or web-based app, just the Swann Security app which is very basic - it can't even automate switching between night/day mode, let alone setting up routines or there's no AI or true "smart" functionality whatsoever. The help topics on the website cover only the basics, no comprehensive support to speak of. These issues render these cameras effectively useless as a security solution. All in all, a completely inferior product (and complete waste of my money) from the "world's leading" security camera company. Truly disappointing.

Owned the item for 6 months now. I set up the camera in our property that is reverse living. I thought it would be great to see who is at the front door before we come downstairs.Build quailty is great and so is the battery life. Good picture quailty to day and night but there are 2 big let downs.1. Sesnor is rubbish, its set on the high setting you can be standing in front of it waving your arms and it won't turn on.2. For the price its disappointing, a software upgrade on the app I believe will make a big difference.

For starters the camera is a bit heavier than I expected mainly because strong magnet base is that holds on tight to the camera and allows your to put it straight are various angles without risking it falling, though I would definitely recommend you put it up with the screws that are included for a nice sturdy hold. Setting up was pretty easy but would suggest a WiFi extender if your not putting your camera near a router as it needs a strong connection to work properly and get a clear not choppy video. When it comes to the video, we have a router pretty much on the other side of our front door so there is a really strong connection so the video is really good, clear picture and you can hear everything going on outside. Honestly really shocked how good the video and sound is. Now the issues I’ve come across using the camera is the app has a ton of issues, it constantly disconnects from the app, it has issues viewing the camera live and I got so many alerts to the camera disconnecting from the app that I had to disable the alerts because one night it went of 30 times. Even though it’s not connecting to the app I do find that the camera is still working as it will save video of people coming up to the door and leaving so it is working just not connecting to the app like it’s suppose to, though I will say the live feedback seems to work more consistently after the motion sensor goes off, but considering I had to turn off the alerts thats not entirely helpful. For the most part the camera itself is good but I feel the bigger issues are with the app and not the camera itself, because like I said it is picking up video when people come up to the camera and whatnot but the app has issues connecting, so if you don’t always need the live feed back it’s fine, but honestly the camera would be a lot better if they fix the app issues to get it working more consistently.
