I really like this watch. It’s low profile, light weight, and easy to wear. It will give you GPS or UTM coordinates and you can then find yourself on any decent paper topo map or on Google maps, Gaia, etc. if you have a phone with battery. A vital safety feature if you hike a lot. I often run gps tracking at various battery levels/frequency if I want to track the hike and get turn by turn guidance but I leave that off at night to save battery if my hike is 3 days or more. If it’s a week or more I would just use GPS to double check my location when needed. You can use the GPS or the UTM coordinates or your whole track from the day with the Suunto app or Gaia and you don’t need to run your phone battery out with GPS! Nice option for evenings at camp planning the next day on my phone or paper map. The Suunto app could probably be a little better compared to apple etc, but I’m fine with it. I actually prefer the Suunto app route planning and topo maps to what Garmin’s app has. I like the style of the watch and I’m happy. Only complaint is that while Suunto does track surfing and waves and give you time stamps and stats and stuff, it doesn’t sync with Surfline Sessions. Hope they add that.

I love this watch. Upgraded from Spartan Trainer, love the touch screen, tracks my rides and runs with what I assume to be great accuracy. BUT buy it from REI and do not, under any circumstances, buy directly from Suunto. They're customer service is the most abysmal of any company I've had the displeasure of dealing with. Completely uncommunicative, can only "chat" them. Absolutely awful. The polar opposite of dealing with REI.

Nicely built. Solid watch with Sapphire crystal watch face unlike most in this price range (that are plastic). Simple very functional, easy to use design. Responsive touch screen. Great GPS with Breadcrumb feature. Long battery life. Fully charges in little more than 15 minutes. Only issues for me: Watch face larger than I like (42mm). O2 sensor not very accurate and quirky to function. I'm not sure of sleep monitoring accuracy.

With recording daily exercise workouts, I’m averaging a burn of 15% of life off the battery(recording avg 60 mins of workout) daily while the HR, sleep, and weather alarm functions are active. It offers a couple different options for battery life, which for someone who likes to be out on the trail for a few weeks at a time, is one less thing to worry about.I also appreciate the thought they put into the watch band itself. Instead of securing the excess of the band through the free loop most straps have, they incorporated a pin that pushes into the strap to secure it. Replacing the band is easy, too. For the watch faces, they give you only a select handful to choose from this early in, but I would assume (and hope) at some point they’ll offer more, or some kind of unique customization options. I really like Suunto products, I bought Suunto Peak 9 as I wanted to upgrade my old Suunto watch. From Spec wise watch was looking great. I had issues as this was not showing me accurate Hearth Rate readings during workouts. I know my HR must be 150Plus however watch was showing me 80Plus. One of the expensive lineup and it doesn't give basic measurements was such disappointment for me. I tried upgrading the latest Firmware and customer care but no one was able to fix it. Customer care told me if you're not happy with the product return it and buy new one :(
Bought the watch in the beginning of January and now after 9 months of use I think it is fair to review.Yes the watch doesn’t have a lot of watch faces, yes there are no detailed maps (just plots on black background). I’m not sure why this is a surprise to anyone in the comments who researched the different brands.Anyways, bought the watch for robustness and battery life, and I am pleased with both. A lot of reviews commented on how the GPS is worse than some other brands, but after a hundred miles I haven’t seen weird tracks. This could differ with tall buildings and such. The distance and elevation is also super consistent with expectations.
Very happy with the watch - that said I was using a FitBit Versa so anything would probably be better! Battery life is epic. GPS works well. Lots of sports options.The vibration is a bit noisy, which is think that is a function of the connection to the band which can rattle. Also, the Sunnto App does not allow you to pick which notifications it sends so it is everything or nothing - I would prefer just calls and texts, but nothing is better every little ding.
