This is the template on how you remake a game while staying true to the original and remaining fresh for new players, while exciting and surprising old players. Game mechanics stay the same while adding a new flare in the Triple Attack rewarded from successful timed attacks. Additionally, the updated graphics are gorgeous! This was one of my favorite games as a preteen, the remake is one of my favorites well into my 40’s.Fans of the originals, get this game! Those craving old-school turn based RPGs, get this game! Super Mario RPG for Switch is a faithful remake of the Super Nintendo Classic. I played the original and enjoyed it immensely. If you are looking for a light-hearted but engaging role playing experience Super Mario RPG for Switch is right down your alley. Most of the battles are fairly easy but there are some tougher bouts late game that make the experience feel well rounded and the climax of the game is as surprisingly refreshing as I recalled the original being. The battle system itself is simple and intuitive with a few slight new bells and whistles, namely the triple attack that's introduced during the story itself. Overall, I'd rate the game itself a solid 'A-' in my book, as the flaws that exist in the remake come more from being faithful to the conventions of being true to its Super Nintendo Gaming production nature of the day then today's gaming standards. Not at all a flaw but something to note for newcomers. Highly recommended.As a side note as well for delivery reliability.Walmart.com has gained great reputation with my family in getting pre-orders and orders for electronics delivered quickly and fast. So far, they've got our orders delivered either on time to the delivery estimate or quicker and the delivery services they use have handled our orders exceptionally well.

As someone who has played the original on the SNES many years ago, this remake is easily 10/10. Captures everything from it and the additional super combo ability you get adds another layer of depth to the combat that was not present in the original.Combat is much better in the remake. Trying to block enemy attacks is now much easier and more intuitive. Also, giving the ability to figure out weaknesses and immunities to damage types is also a very welcome change.The updated graphics and cutscenes that exist are also very good.For those wondering, yes you can still beat the sword with Geno in about 30 seconds.If you were a fan of the original, grab this. You will not be disappointed.
