I had a really bad reaction to this moisturizer. The second time I used it my face began to swell but I didn't connect the two. The next morning my face was very puffy and sore but swelling went down during the day.Did not put moisturizer back on that night. Day after that it was even worse, eyes were nearly closed. The doctor said there are a number of ingredients I could have been allergic too but can't pinpoint for sure of course. I've never had a reaction to any moisturizer before, as far as I know, I'm not allergic to anything except maybe something in this product.Today, the day after that, it's much better and the swelling has gone down. But my skin is SO dry and scaly. I wanted to love this product, as I usually love Sunday Riley's products (e.g. vitamin C serum or good genes treatment), but this is not the case. I have sensitive and reactive skin but have never had any problems using skincare products, including retinol. I was hoping this would be the perfect cream for winter and for the first 1-2 days it seemed to work very well, especially under makeup. After a couple of applications it started to give me unpleasant reactions, with red patches all over my face which could range from bad inflammation to a few red dots on my face, depending on the day (e.g. when I applied facial scrub the night before, the reaction was worse). I definitely do not consider it a cream for sensitive skin, having caused these reactions to other ... I definitely do not consider it a cream for sensitive skin, having caused these reactions to other people from the reviews I read, which is unusual for a ceramide-based cream. No idea which ingredient is the culprit that can cause rashes in some people. I tried combining it with different products hoping to make it work, but each time it gave me a bad reaction

I loved the sample I received so I purchased the full sized product. Unfortunately, the jar I received was completely different and terrible. It had a huge amount of rough, sharp fragments throughout the cream that painfully scratched my sensitive skin. I sent pictures of the fragments to customer service but they did not take my experience seriously and just gave a canned response about about the small batch process and slight variations in color, scent, and texture. I do not think that unexplained sharp bits in a product that is supposed to be smooth, gentle, and hydrating is a "slight variation," especially when the sample was 100% fragment free. Buyer beware - if you really want to try this, I'd suggest going to a physical store so you can easily check the ... MoreI loved the sample I received so I purchased the full sized product. I had heard great things about this moisturiser but this is not one I'll be purchasing again. It is too heavy and thick for my combination/normal skin, even in winter. I don't like the smell (this is entirely subjective, obviously!) or how sticky and dense it feels and that it doesn't seem to absorb as well as others. I've been using it at night and even in the morning there's still a sticky tacky oiliness to my skin that isn't that pleasant. I haven't scored it lower because in terms of effectiveness it does hydrate and my skin has been healthy and dealing with the change in season well, and I haven't had an adverse reaction despite having sensitive skin. I recently moved the Denver from NYC, and this is the only face lotion I've found that keeps my skin moisturized in this dry climate. The box and jar itself looks substantial (and the price is substantial at $65), so I've been surprised how fast I'm going through this (1 every 25 days).I just got a new jar today and as I was opening, it seems as if I discovered the packaging optical illusion happening here -- the lotion itself is in it's own separate smaller container that sits elevated in the overall jar. This is HUGELY deceiving, as the actual lotion container doesn't even come close to filling up the jar.I love Sunday Riley products, but now it's become super apparent their large packaging isn't for the product itself but to appear worth the "price". I got this as part of the vault to revamp my skin care routine. I love it and also the packaging for all the products…except the moisturizers. I hate spending this much money on a product to dig in my fingers or expose it all constantly to open air. Well I looked on Amazon, found the reusable airless pump jars, 3 for $10. Totally worth it. The packaging is honestly beautiful but also wasteful. Would love to see Sunday Riley come up with an insert so you could reuse the beautiful container instead of disposing of it every time you need new product. But the moisturizer itself is fantastic, especially if your skin is on the dry side.
I thought this would be a great moisturiser for the summer months, as it's called "Ice". However the name is misleading and there is nothing that reminds me of ice in this product. It is quite unsuitable to use this moisturiser in the warmer months. It is a very thick, very rich, very heavy cream that needs a good massage to absorb into the skin and even then it leaves a film behind. It is a nice hydrating cream, I just find the name so misleading I felt disappointed as it was completely not what I was expecting. There is also a very heavy cloying sweet scent to this which reminds me of childrens medicine. This is suitable for dry skin and I will use it in the colder months. Or only as a night cream.
I have seen a lot of negative reviews regarding this product and thought I would give my opinion on the positive side. I have severely dry skin, I don't struggle with pimples but more so dullness and flaky skin. I have been using this product for over a year now (twice a day along with the watermelon glow drops) and can say that its an amazing product but if you use it right and have dry skin. I find the product is quite thick which is what my skin needs and once my serums and drops have been applied before this product it is so easy to spread on and absorbs into my skin quite rapidly. My flaky skin around my nose has disappeared and I have had no reaction to the moisturiser even with my sensitive skin. This moisturiser is a staple product in my skincare routine and ... I bought this cream earlier in the year. I really liked it. I understand that it is a 'water in oil' technology versus 'oil in water'. This means that it is super moisturising. However, fast forward 10 months and the product is unstable and separating. A well of oil has formed in the product. The PAO is 12 months so this should not happen to a premium quality product. It is also a question of safety. I would suggest an independent safety assessor advise if the product is safe to use.I tried to return it at SNK however was told that it was outside of the returns policy of 28 days. I was satisfied with the product within the 28 days however it is no good if the product goes off within the PAO? It is not a question of 'satisfaction' within 28 days, it is a question ... Typically I have combination skin, but I use a high-strength prescription tretinoin so sometimes my skin is dehydrated and sensitized so I want a comfy, cosseting cream. This is it! I'd mostly use this at night but it's a great base for makeup and it layers well with other products and hydrators (squalane oil, spray on moisturizer, SPF). And the smell, oh the smell! It's the most delicate, delicious almond scent, I almost want to eat it. If this was available in a body lotion version I would wear it all over. My only complaints are the excessive packaging (the jar comes on a large box and the pot is not refillable) and the inclusion of an unnecessary little plastic applicator. I don't use it at all, I just put my fingers in the jar. I love Drunk Elephant's Lala ... Definitely a new favourite that I'll keep in the rotation.
