Strymon Flint 2 Tremolo & Reverb Pedal
Strymon Flint Tremolo & Reverb V2The magical combination of tremolo and reverb is the earliest example of a perfect guitar effects marriage. First pioneered within historic amplifiers of the 1960s, this harmonious coexistence has made its way onto countless records and performances - from early surf, swampy bayou blues, spaghetti westerns and film noir soundtracks, to modern day indie rock. As music moves forward, guitarists continue rediscovering the inspiration provided by this perfect pair. Flint is a studio-class effects pedal that delivers this classic combination. Flint is essentially two pedals in one, with tremolo on one half and reverb on the other.Flint gives you the pulsating, soothingly hypnotic effects pioneered in vintage amplifier tremolo circuits, along with three classic and completely unique reverb algorithms. On the tremolo side of the pedal you can choose between the sonically complex '61 Harmonic Tremolo, the swampy and sultry '63 Power Tube Tremolo, and the sharp and balanced '65 Photocell Tremolo. On the reverb side you can select the classic '60s Spring Tank Reverb, the inventive '70s Electronic Plate Reverb, or the nostalgic '80s Hall Rack Reverb. With nine parameters to tweak, you get extensive control over the tremolo and reverb characteristics. Go from splashy, pulsing twang, to throbbing, swampy blues, all the way to ambient, trembling, and serene reverberated pads. Couple that with true bypass, and a premium quality analog front end and output section, and you have the history of tremolo and reverb in a pedalboard friendly format.

All of the reverb and tremolo options sound amazing, and pair together so well. Little expensive but it's 2 pedals in one! What's not to like

Strymon makes quality pedals and I have seen this on a lot of professional's boards. It is good but I wanted to like it more than I did. The switches felt flimsy, and the taper on the knobs was uneven. It covers a lot of bases though, and the form-factor is nice.

Love this pedal .Great for that swampy CCR sound . I put this pedal in the front of my semi distorted amp and then add a little dirt from my plumes with the strymon set to the spring reverb and I'm in heaven .I have a keeley Delay Worksation that has 6 differnt reverb banks and I like the reverbs on the Strymon Flint alot better..
Lets start that I have not been disappointed with a Strymon device. It consistently sounds great and is built well. I only give it 4 stars because of price. Which honestly is a fair price. But it is still expensive. ANYWAY. The choices of tremolo and reverb work really well together and by themselves. Yes you are technically limited to fine tuning the effects but that is not the intention of the pedal to have a highly customizable effect. Experiment with pedals before and after it. It gives whole new levels of the pedal. There seems to be a lot of dual effect pedals right now and this is one of the top ones because it focuses on how they work together.
Takes everything loved from the Flint and makes it. Bit better in the V2. There is a reason the Flint is on so many pedalboards and finally I understand why. The tremolo sound lush and deep and the reverb are fantastic. This pedal will probably never leave my board now.
Outstanding unit: two Strymon pedals in one. Reverb side will cover pretty much all your bread and butter reverb needs, including classic Spring and ambient flavours. Long decay Plate is a highlight, the tone knob really does shape the highs. 80s Hall sounds rich and deep. The Tremolo side offers genuine variety between modes; harmonic is 3D, watery and mesmemeric. (Reminds me of the Rockett Revolver, which is high praise indeed.) Tube is more solid with a bit of bite and of drive; optical is choppy and rhythmic. So for £140 for each side, in one compact stereo unit used by countless artists, you really can't go wrong.
I was having no luck finding a reverb that I liked until I looked into the Flint. I had previously ignored it because I had my eye on a separate tremolo pedal. After rethinking things, I found that the Flint had what I was really looking for: vintage-inspired settings with stereo in/out. All of the tremolos sound great. The harmonic is the most musical, the tube tremolo is the standard sine wave, and the photocell tremolo has a smoother sounding triangle wave. While it isn't the most versatile tremolo pedal out there, each setting is noticeably different and I find them all useful. If you're looking for an old school tremolo sound, look no further. For the reverbs, the 70's (plate) and 80's (hall) settings are lush and straightforward. I am a sucker for Spring (60's) reverb though and no, it doesn't sound like a true analog spring tank BUT it doesn't emulate it very well without sounding like they tried too hard. Some of the spring reverb pedals have algorithms with extreme drip when you crank the knobs, but the Flint can achieve this without being over the top. It helps to use single coil pickups for sure.I won't get it into the secondary knob functions, but I will say you can change the order in which both effects run. Other functions can be found on the Strymon website. Truly, truly great pedal.
