It’s a beautiful teapot, and the quality is very good, but I didn’t read all the ratings and found out once I got it that I couldn’t fill it up all the way or rather I had to fill it up all the way to heat the water and it’s only me. I don’t need that much unless I was having company and the reason it Hass to be filled up all the way is because the glass could break because of the heat, also the fact that it was glass I had to be so careful with it and it made me nervous. If you have a large family guest, it would be something good.

I admit I was apprehensive, having bought or received as gifts only metal tea kettles before this. Glass. Directly on a stove burner. Now, we only started using it for c. 10 days, twice a day, and nothing cracked or broke! The glass is very strong and tempered for heat. However it's important to follow the directions, and the lowest setting on our gas stove burners is no wider than the bottom of the kettle. So it takes a bit longer to correctly heat. But not forever. It's also beautiful. To watch the water slowly bubble up, and then hear the gentle whistling through the top.Good price, and so far the best!

This is a tea pot classic. Cheap %26 reliable. It does not mean turn burner to maximum flame and walk away. If burner is too high it can melt handle. Not sure how it works on electric stoves. Lid removes and reinstalls quite easily. Trick is not to remove or place lid directly vertical. Using a slight diagonal approach has it click into place nicely

This is a well-made and highly functional tea kettle. The glass is German-made. I prefer using glass kettles, as compared to those made out of metal, because the glass allows me to see the water's heating progress. I removed the whistle from the top (it pulls off, easily), because I don't need the whistle function and I wanted a smooth pour. I use this kettle on a gas stove and it works great. The kettle comes with a metal trivet, for use with electric ranges. If using on a gas stove, just be careful to not have the burner flame creeping up the side of the kettle, near the handle. The handle is well-placed and allows for good clearance, so, just make sure that your burner flame is restricted to the underside of the kettle.I use this kettle to brew rooiboos and ... MoreThis is a well-made and highly functional tea kettle. I use empty 800 ml VOSS glass water bottles as containers for my hot-brewed teas and coffees. The glass ensures that no melting or reaction with the hot liquids will take place (as you might get with plastic), and, the VOSS bottles are very narrow, allowing them to fit in the door storage areas of smaller refrigerators.
I love these glass stove top kettles. I've had many over the years. They usually end up getting broken after about a year or two. I love their clear glass look and they are made of tampered glass. Good for tea, milk tea or coffee. They are a great addition.I usually order them from Amazon but this time I decided to go with Walmart because of the price difference. I ordered two and both came broken. It was poorly packaged. No individual wrapping or boxing. They just threw them in one big box and one arrived with its top cut off and the other with a crack at the top.I started a return and the W app gave me an option to replace them so I've opted for that and I'm hoping these won't break too.
I'm writing this review in hopes that the manufacturer or Walmart can explain what are the crystal like particles in the water. I read about this in previous reviews on Amazon regarding this same kettle but ignored it due to only being mentioned by two people. I boiled my water for the coffee followed the instructions of not heating it empty or scratching . after I poured my coffee some water remained, when I went to clean the kettle I lifted it to the light and some crystal like particles appeared as mentioned in the Amazon review. I washed the kettle reheated the water in the kettle and lifted it to the light a second time and didn't see any particles , but when I poured most of the water away and a little remained the particles were visible again.im guessing they ... MoreI'm writing this review in hopes that the manufacturer or Walmart can explain what are the crystal like particles in the water. I'm not sure if the glass is leaking or what this is , but it's very concerning to say the least. I would like to return this product but don't know if this is possible as I discarded the box. very disappointed l, as everything about this kettle was perfect for my everyday use, only downside is the unexplainable mystery particles leaking in the water . I've attached a photo , they are hard to see in the image but they glisten. this occurs even with distilled water leading me to believe it's the kettle.
The basic idea of this kettle is excellent, especially for gas burners, which do not require the (supplied) wire trivet used between the glass bottom and electric coils. You can see how much water is inside, there is a whistle when it boils, and it is easy to clean. However, the lid on my kettle was too tight-fitting. I had to use both hands to pull it out, and then could not get it back in. I called the company (Medelco) and the very nice woman who answered said that the lid and the kettle come from different suppliers and there can be a variation in the fit. She agreed that if I bought the same product elsewhere, it would probably be from a different shipment and might fit better. I did, and the second kettle had a slightly larger opening (its lid as well as the ... MoreThe basic idea of this kettle is excellent, especially for gas burners, which do not require the (supplied) wire trivet used between the glass bottom and electric coils. I did, and the second kettle had a slightly larger opening (its lid as well as the first lid both could be put on and pulled out with one hand).I suggest that before taking it home, ask at the register to have the tape cut so you can test whether you can pull out and replace the lid with one hand. The photo shown online is outdated. The current handle is curved so your hand is farther from the glass (safer). The product line is now called Cafe Brew Collection and not One All. It still says 12 cups but these are not 8-oz or 6-oz cups. The capacity is really 5 8-oz cups (40 oz). If you fill the kettle any higher, there is not enough surface exposed for safe boiling.
Using to make Yerbe Mate in refrig. I love the shape, how it feels in my hands. The lid is a bit cumbersome as must remove to pour. I tried on my electric range using the wire heat disperser and didn’t feel totally okay with the way it sat on the burner. So, I decided to use it for cold tea, put Yerba mate in cold water in fridge and also when made this way, less bitterness from teas. The whistle I wouldn’t depend on from another room but a cool feature. I originally bought it to boil water for my French press to make coffee. Because right now I’m just boiling it in a stainless steel pan. And it tends to get all over the place. I may try buying another one and using it for this purpose only because I think it’s healthier to boil hot water in this, type of glass ... MoreUsing to make Yerbe Mate in refrig. Products today are not being made like they used to. I ordered this Stovetop Whistling Kettle because they use to whistle loudly. You could be in your front room and hear the whistling. Now, if you are not in the kitchen, you can't hear the whistling. What happened with the sound? When I finally went into the kitchen to check the pot, half the water was gone out of the pot. This is not good.
