great tool for lighter jobs where you don't need a large petrol saw. light, easy to use, quiet and powerful enough for a lot of grounds maintenance and farm jobs. Can carry in a vehicle without stinking of petrol too.

This a quality product with a very easy to use chain tensioner. Its light but powerful with the 300 battery. Enjoying being free of the risky electric cable. A real improvement on my previous petrol and electric chainsaw.

Garden Machinery gave excellent professional advice, discouraging my wish to purchase another brand of saw that was not safe for amateur use

Very useful for smaller jobs like cutting up firewood or lopping branches from trees. I still use my petrol saw for the bigger jobs, but this is a very nice complement with enough power to easily cut branches about 1 foot in diameter.

Great little saw

My first move to battery power and this saw exceeded my expectations. It zipped through logs up to 12" with plenty of power and the AP 300 S battery still had charge to go after 30 minutes continuous work. I thought this saw would compliment my 16" petrol saw. It virtually replaces it.I also replaced my 25yr old Stihl FS 75 line trimmer (which is still working great) with the FSA 86 R that shares the same battery as the saw. Does a great job on the edges of my 4000m property and no need to use ear muffs with either machine. Love my Stihl equipment. Their reliability and lifespan are amazing.

Great saw!

Purchased 12/06/2022 - After cutting down my first tree (15" diameter, 40' tall), this chainsaw performed quite well. The saw is powerful and easy to use with minimal sound effects. I feel comfortable using this saw, knowing that I can immediately stop the blade by simply letting go of the trigger switch. The battery and charger are sold separately, which adds to the overall cost of the product $$$. Be sure to buy the "fast" charger and not the standard charger. The fast charger powers up the battery in just 15 minutes. The only downside so far is that after cutting up a 40' tree into 16" lengths, the battery was spent. This saw is powerful and cuts through a log with ease. No regrets!

Great wee saw

Early days but after 1 weekend’s work I can report it is light, well balanced, cuts beautifully and runs for ages on the AP300 battery I already had. Reckon it’s going to be perfect for round home and firewood.

Handy + quiet, fairly grunty for size.

Electric Stihl MSA 200 saw was purchased for orchard + lifestyle block use.Love how it cuts as it's a narrow blade + it feels really accurate. Great for pruning branches + cutting small 6" logs.Also good if you want to do a bit of wood shaping, great pointy little anti kickback tip, I use it for shaping fence posts to fit stays, this does the job great.Love how quiet the saw is, no smokey engine fumes and easy to start.But from a practical point of view, the bar jams too easily when the tree or branch pinches the saw even the slightest little bit.It's due to the narrow cutting width of the chain, this doesn't leave enough room for the tree to move during a cut.Our neighbours have a wider kerf on their electric Stihl and it makes all the difference.I will be ... MoreElectric Stihl MSA 200 saw was purchased for orchard + lifestyle block use.Love how it cuts as it's a narrow blade + it feels really accurate. STIHL MSA BATTERY CHAINSAW

Great little saw. I already had a battery from my STIHL line trimmer so thought this was a good option. Goes as well as my STIHL petrol chainsaw, without petrol and noise.

This is a great machine. I have been thinning pine trees with it. Just to have it there work ready by pressing the trigger is so much better than having to pull start the petrol one. It is so convenient, light weight, powerful enough, and even the lower noise level is a bonus. I wouldn't use it for cutting firewood, but it is so good for what I am using it for and worth every cent.
