Picked this up a month ago and, as a 52 year old electrical engineer, not a professional forestry person, and have need for this every 6 months or so, this thing is an amazing piece of equipment! Its light. Its quality is top notch. No flimsy plastic or fear it couldn't handle daily commercial use. Battery life is amazing. The pole lock and extension is a godsend. Very well balanced. Convinced me to get the HLA 86 as well.

Picked this up a month ago and, as a 52 year old electrical engineer, not a professional forestry person, and have need for this every 6 months or so, this thing is an amazing piece of equipment! Its light. Its quality is top notch. No flimsy plastic or fear it couldn't handle daily commercial use. Battery life is amazing. The pole lock and extension is a godsend. Very well balanced. Convinced me to get the HLA 86 as well.
This battery powered pole pruner from Stihl is just as capable as ANY gas powered pruner the competition has to offer...possibly more so! Its balanced design, combined with a seemingly perfect power to weight ratio and ability to quickly and easily extend up to 13 feet, minimizes operator fatigue and maximizes battery efficiency.
Picked up a HTA 135 last week...not necessarily to go green, however for a weight factor. The features carry over from the commercial gas model and from my comparison equal in performance as a family member has the parallel Sthil gas model. Battery charges quick and last longer than I care to use the saw in a single setting. When you actually think about "run time" it can last several hours of use. It's quite, strong, versatile, easy to maintain a bit on the hefty side although for a person of smaller stature and form. Great product for my use, happy with the purchase and hopeful to pick up the hedge cutter model in the future and just swap the battery from each.
I bought the HTA 135 in the fall of 2021 for home use on a 2.5 acre wooded lot with numerous oak trees. I bought the AP 300 S battery for it. I trimmed about half the trees on the lot in 2021 and I've started trimming the back half of the lot in 2022. The pruner has as much or more cutting power as the gas-powered pruner I had previously. Run time on a full battery charge lasts most of the day if you alternate between trimming and clean up. The 13' pole length is a big plus when trying to raise the canopy on large oak trees. The pruner is well constructed and commercial quality. I think this pruner will serve me well for numerous years with very little maintenance. This was my first Stihl battery-powered equipment purchase and I'm very impressed. This pole saw came in last week and is working great. It has plenty of power.
