Stasher Reusable Sandwich Bag - Aqua

Okay. I have been using this for a couple of months now, and I really gotta say I am a believer. My husband and I have a two year old that is the pickiest eater there is. This equates to so much leftovers every single day. We were going through so many ziploc bags in different sizes and my husband never liked to throw them out. He’d leave ones that would look “clean” in the fridge, then forget about it until I find them. It was driving us crazy. We cook most of the time so we needed to find a better solution. Target and Amazon normally have sales that include these and we decided to bite the bullet. We purchased two of the sandwich sized Aqua color bags and one clear/frost snack sized bag. Target and Amazon normally have sales that include these and we decided to bite the bullet. We purchased two of the sandwich sized Aqua color bags and one clear/frost snack sized bag. I really don’t care so much for the whole “save the planet” shtick these companies claim to help with. I bought this for my own sanity and so we didn’t have to buy so many packs of ziplocs (which, to be honest, each time we bought some, the quality seems to have gone down with every bag we used). I was getting FED UP with seeing bags everywhere in my home. We have put these through the dishwasher several times. They hold up so well. It’s such a thick material and odors don’t stick to it. We even had saved some spaghetti into the clear snack sized bag and any sauces washed right off, with no staining. Plus, the bags can be leaned against other stuff which in turn is great for my organized mind. We are definitely planning to purchase more sizes very soon!

Let me first start off saying, yes these are pricy. But they often go on sale and I was lucky to find a huge variety at my local home goods. We’ve been trying to reduce our waste and impact on the earth and I knew I had to have quality and durable items. The quality of these stasher bags is amazing. The material is nice and thick/sturdy. The seal on the bags is amazing. I can marinade without leakage! They are so easy to clean because of the flexibility of the materials. I will definitely be purchasing more and expanding my collection.

Excellent product. Easy to clean,

Excellent product. Easy to clean, easy to open, easy to use. It is so nice that the packaging is a paper envelope, recyclable. I have some silicone reusables but they are hard to reopen and not well designed. These are expensive but worth the cost. I hope to be able to use them for years to come.The seal is the best I've seen. They make it easy to just pinch shut gently, in case you have arthritis or other hand issues.We wash these with soap and water and hang them on various things to dry. They can be cleaned in the dishwasher but we usually don't have room for that. They hand dry well, also.

Horrible for Sous Vide

I love the idea of reusable bags. I have some non branded Amazon ones, the Zip Top version, and now Stasher bags. I personally like the Zip Top bags for storing soup or snacks/fruits because it stands up on its own and I think therefore Zip Top has more variety in its uses (because of sizes and shapes). I specifically bought the Stasher bags so that I could use it to sous vide chicken which is my go to and I saw some advertisement that said it's well suited to execute that task. Unfortunately, because of the thickness of the bags (which admittedly is impressive), it's impossible to get all the air out to effectively sous vide properly. Therefore it is not a good solution to my problem. In addition to that, the chicken sticks to the inside and it's difficult to clean. Additionally, after you clean the inside, you can still see the outline of the chicken which makes you wonder if you peeled off some of the inside coating or something when you removed the chicken? Disturbing thought. Most unfortunately, for now, ziploc bags are still my only acceptable solution to sous vide-ing chicken, or just not at all....

I’m so happy I decided

I’m so happy I decided to splurge on these bags, they are awesome. The material is thick, there is no plastic-y odor and, best of all, the zippers open and close amazingly well! I’ve had similar bags that were cheaper (because i didn’t want to spend the extra money on these) and they just don’t close easily. These are wonderful quality! You really get what you pay for! This is my second set. I’ve had my first set for over a year and always run them through the dishwasher, no problems! I bought a little drying rack on Amazon that spreads them apart to dry. These bags are the BEST.

Love, love, love my Stasher bags

I’ve been using Stasher bags for quite a while now. There is never a time when I am not using at least 5 or 6 of them, if not 10 or 11. I constantly have several types of cut-up fruit and fresh beets, kale and spinach in various Stasher bags lined up in my freezer so I can simply grab the fruit and vegetables I want for my morning Smoothie and plop it into the blender. My refrigerator is full of Stasher bags of cheese, cut-up onions, and even soups and chili. I literally have given away every single storage container that I used before and exclusively use Stasher bags now, with the exception of my tea storage, since high quality (and expensive) loose tea should not be exposed to light.I have never had a single Stasher bag have any issues, such as tears or ... MoreI’ve been using Stasher bags for quite a while now. They are extremely well-made, beautiful and a pleasure to use. They take up so much less space in my refrigerator, freezer and pantry, than traditional containers, plus no searching for lids or having them break, scratch or discolor. My new favorite Stasher bags are the stand-up ones. My goal is to gradually increase my stash of Stasher stand-up bags, as they are extremely useful for so many things.Here is some tips for issues I’ve seen on various reviews for Stasher bags. First, several people have commented that they are hard to open. They are not, if you know how to do it. Simply pull open at either top corner and they will open very easily. If you try to pull them open from the middle it is much, much harder. I have no idea why. (BTW, I’ve never had a Stasher bag not stay sealed shut when I want them to stay shut. Second, several people have complained about mold, with some actually throwing away a moldy Stasher. NO! Don’t throw it away; that’s like throwing away a dirty plate after supper! All the mold means is that you didn’t dry them well enough before sealing them, which is why I don’t seal them until I’m using them. (Note, mold will grow anywhere where there is moisture, so dry them and you will not have a problem.) Stasher bags will dry in a very short amount of time if you place them upside down and keep them open, on average an hour or two. You can do this several ways, such as keeping them in the dishwasher upside down and opened on the tines of the top dishwasher rack (this is also the best way to wash them). What I do is place them over a folding glass rack for an hour or two before storing. I store them in a lid rack with the tops of the bags unsealed, but the bagssquished together to store many, many Stasher bags in one small space. I’ve never had a problem EVER with mold. However, if you do, simply re-wash them. The mold cannot grow into the silicone (as it will grout) and will easily wash off by hand or by the dishwasher.

Mostly love them - could be tougher for the price

First of all, I LOVE the concept of these bags! We have several hundred dollars worth of them and they have probably saved us (and the environment) hundreds of plastic bags over the past couple of years. That said...I really, really wish Stasher would offer some kind of coupon for sending torn bags back for recycling. Give me 50% off my next bag purchase (or $5 at least?) for recycling and also make it apparent that you stand behind your product. A free return label to recycle them is just not enough when you're charging $12-30$ for a bag. I'm very certain that your profit margin at that price could stand the discount. Sorry, but being environmentally conscious shouldn't only be for the rich. I'm okay with investing some upfront $ that is WAY more than a bag of ziplocs to do my part for the environment, but if I have to do that every couple years because they rip, well that's not fiscally sustainable for my family. Nor is it scalable to try to reduce the plastic bag use as a whole population. My husband and I follow all the care instructions and are very careful with these bags, but we've still ripped 2 in the past year. For the cost, they should really last longer than that. We will probably look into other options as our Sasher bags likely continue to fail and need to be replaced. I would have attached photos, but it didn't give me the option.Overall Pros: Don't hold odors, thicker and stand up on their own vs plastic bags, reusable (obviously), fun colors, offered in a variety of shapes and sizes that work well for all kinds of food storage/transport, dishwasher safe, microwave safe.Overall Cons: High upfront cost and high cost to replace, durability, seal is definitely NOT water proof (any pressure on the bag will pop the seal right open), have to be very careful opening them and still tend to tear, ridges around seal are more difficult to clean (do well in the dishwasher though typically).

Well now I wish I hadn’t waited so long! I bought five bags, each a different size, to figure out if they’d be useful and how. All my bags are currently being used and every day I find myself wishing I had more! So far I’ve used them in the freezer to store half-used frozen foods, in the fridge to hold leftovers and snacks, in the cupboard as storage, and to fill up at the bulk section at my co-op. With them, I’ve even started moving away from bringing prepackaged frozen meals to work (so much packaging waste!), which ... MoreWow! These are great! I use

These are great! I use them to store many items in the fridge. I had meatballs in a bag recently and took it from the fridge to the microwave. I was able to heat them with the bag vented and they were piping hot! The bag is in perfect condition after reheating the meatballs and marinara in the microwave.My only complaint, if there is anything, would be the opening of the bags. I wish they were just a little bit wider.These bags go easily on the dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer. I have not tried the oven yet, but I am sure I will be pleased.I am looking forward to making another purchase very soon!

I’ve got the original neon colors and our collection is honestly larger than it needs to be for a 2 person household lol (what can I say, I went all in!). They’re for sure a great ziploc alternative, but I don’t find that I reach for them nearly as much as a ziploc anymore for a few reasons. 1) the mouth opening is slightly smaller than the bag, so getting a sandwich in and out is often messy and inconvenient. 2) the silicone does absorb smells. We’ve got a few snack sizes that are now specifically for trail mix and bacon, because the scent is never coming out. I also find after running though the dishwasher, they’ll smell like Cascade and it will taint your food.
