Sony WH-CH520 Wireless Bluetooth Headphones - Black

I've definitely been eyeing this awhile back and I placed an order around Jan 14(?) then received it immediately around January 15 (Super quick delivery, i swear). I just wanna say that the battery life and the sound quality is amazing. I wanted to try it out first before fully sending a review so here it is! Upon opening the box, you'll get the invoice and some stuff for the 1 year local warranty. Make sure to register the serial number at the back to secure the warranty. You get a manual, qr app and a c-type charger! First of all, the fit is snug. Good siya for small girlies like me. You can enable dual connection via the sony app so nagagamit ko siya habang naka-connect parehas which is really good for a seamless workflow! As of the batt, it does last me a week. I've only charged it once, n have accumulated 30hrs in total from the first time i used it. To give context rin, I use it about 1-4 hrs a day. So far no issues apart from the battery not showing per 1% charge, but I've contacted sony about it. Overall, great investment! 🫶

Best Headphones I’ve Ever Owned

Originally I had some Beats headphones that broke after having them about 5 years and they cost about $300. They cracked maybe like the second year of having them when I dropped them. So I was in search of new over the ear headphones since earbuds fall out as I’m sweating and working out. I came across these which were $40 and I thought that’s pretty great for Sony headphones. No matter how much I sweat there is no malfunction. There is a headphones app that you have to download in order to link the headphones to your phone and play music. I did that with no problem. Now the app is super cool because you can choose the sound quality of how you prefer to hear music and set it that way on the app. Never have I ever had a pair of headphones do that! If you long press it can also change the volume up or down. You can turn off the headphones by using the power button or you can turn them off using the app. The app collects data such as how long you were wearing the headphones each day. It also tells you the battery life. Now I’ve been using a these headphones everyday for about 3-4 weeks, an hour a day and on one single charge. It still says 100% battery. Also in the app there is a listening log which shows the songs you’ve listened to. I’m sure there are a lot more functions but I just haven’t played with it enough. Overall I’d give these headphones a 10/10.

Completely unwearable - way too tight

I have used the Sony WH-CH510 headphones for over three years, and they have been fantastic. I wanted to buy a few more pairs of them because it's so difficult for me to find headphones that fit my needs, but apparently Sony decided that the WH-CH510s are obsolete and replaced it with these. I don't know why it seems every headphones manufacturer decided to design their headphones to be painfully tight (especially for those of us with larger-than-average heads), but it's making me wish I'd stocked up on WH-CH510s long ago. I cannot wear these at all; they squeeze my head so tight I feel like a vicegrip has been attached to my poor aching ears. Aesthetically pleasing with thick, comfortable padding on the ear pads and headband it’s sizing provides a great fit for smaller sized heads/youth. No case for storage is included but that is to be expected at this price point. The only way I was able to mute the headphones was by using the mute button on my phone. None of these issues overshadow the fact that these are pretty great headphones-especially for the price-point.I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for headphones that are wireless, affordable, well constructed, with a long battery life.

Some judicious bending on the headband has helped.They paired with my Playbook without a hitch, though not with my Lenovo Android tablet. Pairing with an iPhone was less intuitive. You have to hold the power button for at least five seconds, starting from power-off. Sound quality is excellent, once I figured out how to use the buttons.On the down side:Firstly, the two outer buttons are not easy to locate. Why could they not have more prominent bumps? This also goes for the 'tactile dot' on the left unit.Secondly, The charging socket is USB C, which is not nearly as common as Micro USB B. A USB extension lead will help.Thirdly, I've never been presented with such useless instructions: several pages of safety stuff in multiple languages and very little else apart from a QR code and a web address. I put the web address into my browser and was taken to some decent instructions, including a link to a printable pdf file. (It's 114 pages long so I suggest you save it to your hard disk instead.) I scanned the QR code on my iphone and found the same information, although it's much harder to read on a tiny screen.And then there's the 'app' that you're encouraged to obtain at every turn. I've no idea what it does because it requires iOS 15. Since I have no intention of shelling out hundreds for a new phone, I'll pass on that. These phones work fine with my Playbook. Long may they continue to do so.

Great sound, amazing battery life, look good.

Fantastic headphones for a bargain price. The sound quality is great, the battery life is ridiculously good and they look great too (As aren't too big)!They go on top of the ear and so they aren't sound cancelling but still the sound and volume is ridiculously good and clear. I also didn't want sound cancelling as it allows me to hear the people and noises around me still which I needed (e.g. kids in the background).I use them for leisure, TV, music, and sports (running, dancing, weights). As well as quality of sound and Bluetooth being great they fit to the head really nicely and don't fall of at all. This is great because my AirPods use to fall out all the time which was impractical and annoying.They have a rapid charge and the battery life is literally 50+ ... MoreFantastic headphones for a bargain price. I use to charge my AirPods daily and would forever find I'd forgotten to charge the case or the pods and so they would be out of battery. I use these all the time and go days without charging them. Everytime you turn them on it tells you a rough % of charge and I find this so handy.The headphones have an on/off (and pause/play quick tap) button, and they have a back/forward (or volume up/down quick tap button).They are also a great fit for kids/adults (my son is 5 and they fit him fine). They don't have a volume limit though for kids so that would need to be done on the device.Highly recommended. I'm also thinking of buying a set in a different colour for the rest of my family due to the great quality and price!

I love the fact that the products now come in all paper packaging and is therefore fully recyclable.The Sony WH-CH520 headphones fold flat as the ear cups rotate making them easier to store and carry to work. There is enough adjustment on the headband to fit the average alien, so have proven comfortable for several hours of work Teams calls. The ear pads / cushions are also very comfortable and there is enough pressure to keep them secure on your head.There is a QR code to scan and download the headphone app – which I have found useful for setting up the equalizer to accommodate my taste in sound. I have some frequency hearing loss and this feature is a bonus for inexpensive headphones. I’ve only used the demo from 360 Reality Audio Live, but it’s very impressive.These over ear headphones have a great battery life (approx. 50hrs) listening to streaming music from my phone but I’m also able to use it connected to the work laptop or home computer for Teams calls etc. The feedback from my colleagues is that the audio quality on Teams is better than my old, wired headset.For me, the ability to pair with more than 1 device at the same time is a real bonus and saves me time and effort with switching between cabled headsets for work and wireless for listening to music. It was very easy to pair with the devices without any messing about with drivers or access codes. Call quality on the mobile and other messaging services is good and I’m still getting used to the over ear keeping me cocooned within the call.I’ve only needed to charge these once in the couple of weeks of use and have found them comfortable to wear and even though they are not noise-cancelling I have found that it excludes most external noise.I’m very impressed with the Bluetooth range of these units, as I can now walk around the house doing other work and still hear the music, answer calls and skip tracks. Much better than the old unit I had a few years ago where I could barely leave the room without signal issues.Aesthetically they are a nice simple pair of headphones, and the switches are easy to access and use. I like the ability to pause and skip etc from the buttons without having to unlock the phone for the music player.I also like the fact that the markings for left and right are inside the band and colour coded – with Right being red. I would recommend that the marking was a bit bigger and possibly have the letter R in a bright colour like white, so it stands out for any visually impaired owners.

They do have raised areas designed to help you find the correct switch by feel. There are times however when I find that it is easier to adjust the volume using the phone or I remove the headphone to make a change. This is a very subjective items so you may not have the same issue. No stars were deducted for that reason.These are an on ear device. It was not uncomfortable to me, but it did take some getting used to and here again...Personal preference comes into play. The sound from this device is not Bose quality and you should not expect it to be Bose quality. It is good to very good however. The equalizer settings allow you to control all five typical equalizer settings PLUS a separate adjustment for th4 bass.Paring was easy and fast. The connection remains stable most of the time. There is a selection that allows you to select either top quality sound or a more stable connection. I chose sound quality an the vast majority of the time the connection was stable with no noise present. There may be times however, that due to local conditions / interference you may have a little popping or very brief drop out. I have worn these headphones a LOT since they arrived and while I have experienced that, it was very limited. Now I also have a lot of electric / electronic devices in use on my property and that will may explain what I experienced. I did have some interference from some household devices when I wass very close to them.The battery life seems to be very good. I have worn m for several hours and the voice system still indicates 100% at startup. Unlike my Bose products the battery monitoring system is not linear where it will call out 100%, 90%, 80%b etc... It may call out 100% until the battery hits 50% (As an example) and then te voice system will drop from stating 100% to 50%. I do not see that as an issue or negative given the very long stated by the manufacturer battery life, and I have no disagreement with their claims about battery life aty this point in time,So again...Thus far I am very pleased with the fit, quality, and sound quality of these headphones. Do bed aware that tey are NOT noise cancelling. There will be some outside noise reduction dur to the ear cups of course.
