A toaster can really only be so fancy. I got this mostly for its looks, to be honest but I use the bagel mode to toast just one side often. Very sturdy with good build quality. I’ve never used the frozen mode since I never really freeze bread or anything I put in there. Retoast mode could be useful but I haven’t used it yet. The hidden crumb tray is nice and having the led illuminated ring and stop button are nice touches. This is what basic done really well is like

A toaster is a toaster is a toaster they say? These words cannot be true. I had not idea how perfect my toast could be until receiving and using this beauty. Not only is it straight up the sexiest toaster out there, it literally makes perfect toast. So perfect, I nibble it slowly to savor the joy. My ragin' raisin toast comes out scrumptious on a 2.5 setting. I would highly recommend this toaster for anyone looking to upgrade their toasting game.

It’s definitely not as fancy as the new toasters with all the bells and whistles but if you are looking for a toaster that does just that this is for you! Easily to clean and very good quality. Hesitant about the price point at first much it really is such a staple in the kitchen. Would recommend for anyone who is trying to add appliance pieces to their kitchen who loves the magazine cover look!!

I purchased the 2-slice Matte White Toaster and I absolutely love it. Aesthetically, it is an amazing addition to my boho/Scandinavian/mid-century modern-styled kitchen. The matte white color looks great next to my matte white Keurig coffee maker. The 2-slice toaster doesn't take up as much counter space and is perfect for my personal needs. As far as functionality goes, the toast always comes out perfectly toasted every single time. I am now looking into buying some of the accessories that Smeg offers, like the bun warmer and sandwich racks.If you are considering it, just make the plunge and buy the Smeg Toaster!
Was a splurge to buy such an expensive toaster & was so excited to receive it. It toast better & more evenly than any toaster I have owned. Anything past toaster setting 2 is too dark/ burnt though.I ordered the matte black. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED that a HUGE rectangle shaped care for instruction sticker was applied to matte surface. Enclosing paper instructions in box would have been sufficient. I very carefully tried to peel sticker off & it left a rectangle of sticky residue. Sticker did NOT come off easily. After multiple attempts, I was able to remove most but not all of residue. It left a rectangle shape of where sticker was. Placing a sticker on a matte surface was a horrible idea! VERY UNHAPPY with the appearance of my toaster now!!!!!!!!!!
We received this toaster as a wedding present in the Matte Black and it is stunning, people always mention it when they walk in our kitchen how beautiful it is. It toasts great, haven't had any of the issues people are facing. However, it has some clear design flaws that a $200+ toaster should not. The Matte color scratches sooo easily, we have tons of scratches and it hasn't moved since we set it up in the kitchen. The lever to push the toast down seems to be scratching it too. Also, most toasters will allow you to push the lever up after it's done toasting so you can reach smaller items and this one does not. Normally not an issue but you definitely have to be careful when pulling out smaller items like english muffins or mini bagels. Overall, love this but ... Good Points: This product is very stylish easy to use. Toast well and quickly.Improvement Points: We were just unlucky i think . We only had our 1st toaster 7 months . As a household of 2 people it wasn't being constantly used. . A little apprehensive in case it fails again . Our last toaster 14yrs old didn't fail at all .
Good Points: Looks nice.Improvement Points: It's not repairable. Smeg don't have any spares for their rubbish. This is the second toaster, bought purely on how it looks. We know that it is a scam, a throw-away item. And it costs a fortune. But at least we know now. If we wanted Quality, we'd have bought a Bosch. Not as pretty, but, it would work and be repairable no doubt.
This toaster is junk. I had issues with it after the first month and Williams Sonoma passed the buck to Smeg who did offer a replacement however the issue of the toasting one side seemed to disappear so I didn't end up following through. I traveled a lot last year and before going away, the lever stopped working and staying down. I cleaned the crumb tray and searched the internet for solutions but nothing worked. This toaster is faulty and doesn't last beyond a few months which is appalling considering the price tag.
My Cuisinart toaster stopped working- so my husband ordered a new toaster- the same Cuisinart model again! And that one lasted even less time before quitting. So this time I splurged on the SMEG two slot toaster and, WOW! What a difference! It toasts both sides of the bread very evenly, the controls are both functional and aesthetically pleasing... and it's such a nicely designed toaster, I am keeping a toaster on the counter for the first time ever! The SMEG is well-built and beautiful!
