simplehuman 4.5 Liter / 1.2 Gallon Round Bathroom Step Rubbish Bin, Brushed Stainless Steel

I registered for the Polished Stainless Steel Fingerprint-Proof 4-1/2-Liter Round Wastebasket by simplehuman on my wedding registry and was lucky enough to receive these wastebaskets for a bridal shower gift. I like the lidded design for use in my bathrooms, as I have two small dogs who are quite the garbage pickers. This design deters them from stealing whatever Kleenex or rubbish winds up in the trash and turning it into confetti. I also like the lid, especially in my guest bathroom. It draws attention away from the trash if I have forgotten to empty it before having guests over and does not leave me looking messy or unorganized. The Polished Stainless Steel Fingerprint-Proof 4-1/2-Liter Round Wastebasket includes a small inner pail that removes for easy cleaning and emptying into the trash each week. The inner pail is easily lined with the specialty bags by simplehuman or leftover grocery bags from your last trip to the store (though they are a little big and need to be tucked for a finished look. The stainless steel on the exterior is easily wiped clean with a stainless steel spray and rag, I prefer using 409 stone and steel cleaner. It works well and keeps them looking brand new. These are a little more expensive than traditional bathroom trash cans, but I have had mine for over a year and they have held up to my family, friends and dogs. They can be found at local retail stores (like Bed Bath and Beyond) where coupons can be applied, so that helps to cut the cost. Overall, these are a great trash can, easy to use and maintain and keep unwanted attention away from your trash.

4.5L Round Step Can

The 4.5L Round Step Can now sits dutifully in my basement bathroom. It's ready for action as it came with a package of can liners. Typical of other Simple Human products, the can looks good, works well, and has a five year guarantee. I look forward to using it every day and knowing it will last and function for a long time. Great waste can!

A superior trash can

I've had a Simplehuman trash can for several years in my kitchen, so I finally said "why don't I have them in the bathroom?" I'm so glad I replaced my old cans with these. They're stylish, sturdy, and extremely functional. I especially like the gentle closing lid and the custom liner bags. It makes life so much easier when I can cinch the bag and take the trash out quickly without having to touch any of the refuse inside. This is a great product and I highly recommend!

I can’t quit buying these things!

This purchase was the 7th SH trash can I have purchased. They work, look great, and should you need service, SH is fast to correct any problems. I had another SH trash can break and their 10 year warranty had me a new trash can at my house in just a couple of days, so you may think the price is a bit high, but they are work every penny when you consider you won’t be buying another for ten years. Also, you do NOT need to use the expensive SH “special” trash can liners. Small trash can liners work just fine for these 4.5L trash cans. The special ones fit more tightly, but you certainly do not “need” them. Also check out their dual recycle/trash can for the kitchen. That was the product that sold me on SimpleHuman products and has made me a customer for life. And if ... MoreThis purchase was the 7th SH trash can I have purchased. Not what I expected.

The step on the can isn’t quite large enough so it scoots back every time we use it. Which is a lot, as we purchased this because we have a child in pull-ups and, though I do take the stinky pull-ups directly outside to the garbage cans, I still want some kind of protection from urine smell. We probably go through a bag every day, so we are using this a lot. I feel as tho I made the wrong choice in which one to get. I also thought the bags would be stored in the back like our large can from simplehuman in our kitchen. But that’s not the case. I’m a little disappointed in this can. But again, it’s mostly bc it’s not that sturdy on the floor and scoots so easily. The lid doesn’t come up as far either. It does help with unwanted odor so that’s good for us.

SLIM STEP CAN 5L

I absolutely love my Slim Step Can 5L. Upon lifting out the inside trash can, I was pleasantly surprised to see a separate slot attached to the side. As it leaned forward, it showed multiple additional "replacement fillers" inside. Convenient and handy. Wow!You must know this item was one of several other items purchased simultaneously. All loved just as much as this item!

Wish Liners Didn't Show

I purchased both black and white step cans. They both look great in their respective rooms, but the liner is too slack to fit tight to the inner can, so it shows around the lip. This is fine with the white can, but on the black one it detracts from the streamlined, tidy look. Either a tighter fit, or a black custom fit liner would do the trick. Otherwise, really like the products.

Your customers are NOT your Quality Control.

I have bought a number of Simplehuman products before and been very satisfied with their high quality. Unfortunately this is not the case with this product. The lid does not align properly with the bin and the mechanism for opening and closing the lid is faulty. I will be returning the product for a high quality replacement, I hope.
