I paired it with my Shimano Deore shifters and it works very well with the Deore system. The shifting is noticably faster than Deore and SLX. Solid upgrade worth the money for XC Racing!

It's XT. Precise, durable, reasonably light. And the best part? It was available!
Of all the component types and groups I've used, XT has more often that not been the best combination of performance, durability, weight and cost.
It is Dyna-sys derailleur without a clutch. It is smooth, responsive and light. An excellent derailleur for the price if you are trail or cross country riding.
