Sennheiser E945 Dynamic Vocal Microphone

Wow! I just used this mic at a gig and it is so much warmer and richer sounding than the SM58 that I have been using for 14 years. This gig was a latin jazz trio and the warm sound of the mic really suited the music. I'm hoping the mic also works well in my Disco/Soul band. Because it is a super cardioid type of mic, it should reduce feedback issues that we sometimes have.

Very clear microphone with crisp tones. Took a little while to get the settings right, as I’m not a singer, I use it to MC. But once I got the EQ’s set up the right way, the volume is great & there’s very little feedback. It is a terrific microphone & definitely good value for money. I’m a happy customer with my Sennheiser purchase.

Fantastic Microphone

Previously using Behringer XM8500 microphones for our hire company as they were cheap nut had a decent sound for the price per mic. We always had problems with feedback in our PA and floor wedges with these mics. We had to hack around with the EQ to keep them stable but that affected the sound profile of the monitor, often with complaints of not enough volume in the wedge or bad sound.After reading plenty of reviews we settled on the E945.We tried them out on a gig last night and boy do they make a difference! The monitor needed little EQ to keep them stable and we got plenty of volume from the monitor with not a peep of feedback for the entire show! I regularly mix front and/or foldback at festivals, sometimes 10k+ audience. This is by far the best sounding all rounder for affordable live performance dynamic microphones, but be aware you must learn what a polar pattern is and then to apply that where to point (and not point) your microphone and/or place your speakers to get optimal results. The e945 off axis rejection is optimal at 120°, not 180° like the SM58 or e935. Put the wedges slightly off to the side and keep the mic barrel level to the floor! It’s not a studio mic, it’s dynamic not condenser, but for the stage it’s the all rounder vocalist mic. Not as all rounder as the Shure Beta57A because you can mic all sorts of instruments with those as well as vocals but sonically it’s superior. The clarity can be a bit hard or harsh for shrill singers, but these go on the stand at the start of the day and rarely do I need to switch out to a darker sounding mic. When I do, I reach for a Beyerdynamic M88 for female singers, or an Audix OM7 for less feedback in those feedback prone rooms. Enjoy.

This is my second e945 fron Sam Ash. I bought one for my wife months ago at full retail. The price drop on this makes it a no brainer. The super cardioid pattern makes this an excellent live mic for the vocalist who wants that brilliant upper end without the mud in the middle like the "industry standard" mic has. Set your EQ dials flat and you're really close to perfect. Excellent mic. Note: if you play (guitar/piano/bass) and move around a lot and sing, you may prefer the e935 with its cardioid pattern.Mic to mic comparison though, the e945 has a greater frequency response across the vocal range.Buy one, you will not regret it.

I have used many types of mics over the years. Sennheiser is a standard much like Shure. I feel the E935 and E945 are some of the best mics. Try several different mics and see which one fits your needs. I have tried cheaper mics and more expensive mics. I prefer the Sennheiser. They just seem crisper and more clear.

Purchased to replace an old battered beta 58 that’s done me proud for years, fancied a change and this mic was a tad cheaper. Imo it’s better, suits my voice anyway. Very good at rejecting bleed etc.

This a great live action

This a great live action mic. I bought one a few years ago & it has improved the way I sing, I take it everywhere, my personal mic at every gig. I bought this latest one as a gift for my daughter Athina Uh Oh, front person for killer new band Gut Health. Ditch the Shure 58 workhorse & upgrade to a sleek Sennheiser E945.

This thing is dynamite...WOW!

I had purchased an SM58....went home and tried it out and found it to be rather muddy in response. Put it to you this way I didn't appreciate how my voice sounded on it. Was worried that it would be difficult to find a good mic that would be suitable for my voice. Looked up many reviews and finally came down to purchasing my first Sennheiser. Well, this baby makes my voice pop and I actually feel more confident as I sing through the e 945! It really sounds so clear and amazing...actually gave myself goosebumps haha! I love the fact that it's professional to match my new PA system and mixer. If you're in doubt about which vocal mic to choose...I highly suggest this bad boy!
