Sleeping well when you're backpacking goes hand-in-hand with sleeping comfortably. The Comfort Light Insulated Sleeping Mat uses Air Sprung Cell technology and a hybrid matrix of offset cells to provide amazing stability and comfort. A double layer of cells in the torso increases warmth, while a single layer of cells in the head and legs reduces weight. Thermolite and Exkin Platinum are used to optimize heat retention and the multi-function valve enables simple inflation, deflation and the ability to fine-tune your personal comfort level. What's more, the uprated 30D/40D face fabric is quiet and durable, while the lamination technology continues Sea to Summit’s class-leading reliability. Features 3.7 R-Value is warm enough for all but the coldest ground. Exkin Platinum insulation reflects radiant heat, while Thermolite insulation prevents convective heat loss. Hybrid-Layer Air Sprung Cells provide more support, insulation and comfort in the torso. Quick and easy inflation, deflation and adjustment is made possible by our multi-function valve and supplied Airstream Pump/stuff sack. Lighter, quieter and durable 30D/40D face fabric with Sea to Summit’s liquid-extruded lamination is extremely reliable. Anti-microbial treatment added to the TPU lamination formula prevents internal mold growth. PillowLock system prevents your Sea to Summit Aeros Pillow from slipping. Comes with a stuff sack which doubles as a pump, a repair kit with six self-adhesive patches and a spare valve insert. Airstream Pump/Stuff Sack can be used to inflate Aeros Pillows – turn the inflator bag inside out; the nozzle will fit the mini pillow valve.

Comfort light

As the name implies it is a compromise between comfort and light. It's not super ultra comfortable but not uncomfortable for a side sleeper. It's not super lightweight but not too heavy either. It doesn't pack down very small but not very big either. It makes noise but not nearly as bad as the ultralights. Pretty much middle of the road on every aspect. The first night I accidentally opened both valves and dumped all the air out while trying to adjust air pressure, but was able to fill it back up with the pump sack without even getting out of bed, so thats convenient. I wish they made a regular length/wide version to save weight and space..

this a replacement to my NeoAir Xlite so the review is a bit bias. The cushion is adequate but not luxurios (less thickness) and I woudl have rather gone with the Large size (but wasn't available). It's very light and compact (great for backpacking) and the surface depsite being a bit squeecky is nice to sleep on.I LOVE the small pieces of Velcro supplied to keep the pillow in place! The question now is durability? is it going to last better than the Thermarest NeoAir?

I went from a $30 amazon mat to this. It checks all the boxes: it's comfortable, it's quiet, it stays inflated all through the night, and it's really easy to inflate/deflate. With the stuff sack, inflating only takes me three breaths. I am 5'10 and 170lbs, back and side sleeper. With a size Regular, I have room at the head and foot and have no issue staying on the pad. I've paired this with the Sea to Summit Ascent 25-degree bag and been warm in 35 degree nights no problem. Haven't tested colder. My only complaint is, I honestly thought it was going to be a bit smaller than it is. I'm a bikepacker and it's definitely light enough, but I haven't found a convenient spot for it on my bike so I still need to keep it in a backpack. Finally an air mattress that works
15 November 2021

I bought this mattress 3 years ago and sadly it punctured twice on the first outing. Some sharp grass seeds got into my tent and punctured the mattress. Since it came with a patch kit I decided to patch it and the pad has been flawless ever since. The patch it worked well and was easy to use.The mattress is warm and I never feel cold coming from the ground. After 40 years of trying just about every Thermarest that comes on the market all of which started leaking in the first few uses it is remarkable to finally have an air mattress that works. Hopefully it will continue to hold air and work. The mattress is so good I am thinking of buying another model just because I like things that work like they are supposed to. :)

Great pad - but noisy!
9 July 2022

I loved this sleeping pad. I used it for 6 years of backpacking (although Sea to Summit replaced it for me in year one after a leak developed near the seam of the valve). I could sleep comfortably on my side and it is relatively light weight and easy to pack. I did purchase the stuff sack that you can use for inflation, although I believe the packaging now includes a similar feature. It still works great and the only reason I am replacing it now (with the Thermarest Prolite Apex) is because this sleeping pad is so loud and squeaky! The noise wakes me up routinely when I roll over or move at all. Last weekend we went bikepacking with some friends and folks in other tents commented on the noise. Otherwise, great pad.

Great pad!
12 October 2022

Bought this for use with my treck 3 sleeping bag.Not quite as warm as I expected but it was on very moist ground and 6-8 degrees at night. The included pump sack was amazing. First one I’ve used that really works.Regarding noise that others have noted, I honestly didn’t have that experience. Yes, you can hear the pad when you move, but it’s definitely nothing like a bag of chips.I felt it was well built and durable. Packs down to a 1.5l coke bottle.Make sure you match your sleeping pad to your conditions as it’s almost half of your warmth of your sleep system!

Side-sleeping comfort! Finally!
10 January 2022

I love camping and backpacking, but I have almost NEVER had a decent night's rest while on the trail. Typically I just take something to knock me out because I can't get comfortable enough to fall asleep. Enter: this incredible sleeping pad. I will actually fall asleep on this thing without the aid of medication. Not only that, but I sleep well and I am comfortable enough as a side sleeper on this that I don't wake up with those sore hips that plague those of us who sleep that way. Also, if you're deciding whether or not to get the insulated version, just do it. You probably won't regret it whereas you certainly will if you find yourself freezing in the middle of the night without it.Truly, this has changed the game for me when it comes to tent-sleeping. Small but comfortable
21 December 2022

Bought this to fit in a small place while moto touring hut still need a comfortable sleep. Took a chance at $150 and it turned out superb. Very easy to inflate and very comfortable. Slept great. Read a bit here about them being a bit noisy and yeah I get that now but it didn’t disturb my sleep and wasn’t a bother at all. Have recommended to others and they’ve purchased two more for bicycle touring. Great product. Delivery as always from Snowys is super efficient.

Sound asleep
7 August 2022

This sleeping pad was extremely comfortable on my recent week-long Redwoods NP adventure. I slept in a 2 person tent with one of my friends. I am a very heavy sleeper, even camping. My tent-mate complained that the pad and my sleeping bag were a bit noisy when I tossed trying to get comfortable. It is NOT self-inflating and does not come with a pump. Luckily, I have a pocket-sized electric pump that made inflating it a breeze. It lost a bit of air over night, but overall a great product to have. It's well insulated and I never felt cold with a 50F rated sleeping bag and this light insulated pad underneath in the chilled 50F coastal night air. It packs up real easily and cleans ok as well.

comfy pad for back sleepers
17 October 2022

This is the second S2S Comfort Light Insulated pad I had had-- the first one began to leak air after ~1 year of use, so after patching I sent it in for repair. I was told that the pad had a (rare) manufacturing defect that couldn't be fixed and was promptly sent a new one. This one holds air fine so far (I've had it and used it consistently for ~3 months). It's a comfortable pad, quiet, and feels like a soft mattress. I think it's the most comfortable for back sleepers and those who prefer a plusher mattress in "frontcountry" life. My partner has a backpacking pad from another company that feels firmer and would maybe be preferable to a side sleeper, but this one is warm, comfortable, and at least this one appears to be fairly durable. I like the inflation using the air sac-- it is so much quicker than mattresses that need to be inflated by mouth. It does tend to slide around a little bit on the bottom of the tent compared to other mattresses-- I wonder if future versions of this mat could have a slightly grippier material on the bottom to prevent that from happening.
