The Airstream is our bigvolume sleeping mat pump. It's based on our 20 litre UltraSil Nano dry sack with an added valve plug and foot loop. Using the venturi effect means the Airstream can be inflated with a single breath. Two to three cycles from the Airstream are enough to fill our mats, meaning you're ready to go quickly, with minimal breath condensation in your mat, or dizziness from blowing the mat up. It works well to inflate a mat quickly with less breath. You scoop the air (in the way a parachute works) and roll the bag only a couple times before the mat is full.4 stars because this seems like it may only really be needed as a replacement of the stuff sack that comes along with the air sprung cell mats - the concept is already included integrated in my mat's stuff sack, how cool is that?! So the product works, but I bought it by mistake and returned it. Thanks for the informative customer support and easy return process.

The inflation system is very practical for inflating mattresses of the same brand. It still requires some skill to get a good amount of air trapped in the bag. 5/6 successful refills are enough to inflate a large rectangular mattress. It is necessary to finalize the filling with the mouth because lack of pressure at the end. In addition it serves as an organizer in the bag. Very practical therefore for those who want to avoid dizzy swelling by mouth and to avoid introducing too much moisture inside the mattresses.

When inflating I found I had to fold it about 5 times before I clipped it to not let air escape through the top. I believe when you fold it you want to do it the side that has the gray flat strip on the outside. I like the size of the sack. A Sea to Summit CAMP PLUS SELF-INFLATING SLEEPING MAT - rectangular large fits inside of it in case anyone wanted to know. I do not plan on using this as a fill sack attached to my pack because it seems too thin... it also doesn't have many places to clip on the outside on my pack. It took multiple sack fills to completely fill my pad but it is a 3 inch thick - 6 ft 7 in. long - 25 in. wide pad which is bigger than most sleeping pads. This sack is a lot smaller packed than I expected. It is 3.25 in. x 7.75 in. and 1 in. thick in the thickest spot where the valve is... which is small at about the size of a scientific calculator or your hand. At 48g it weighs almost nothing. It also folds back into its packed size easily.

Gave this product 4 stars plus 1 extra because of fast shipping. Ordered this plus the Sea to Summit pillow on a Monday morning and had it arrive in Melbourne at 9am on Tuesday. Really amazing service Snowys, you guys rock!The product itself makes inflating my S2S pillow a breeze. One bag full and the pillow is completely inflated. Used it to pump up my S2S insulated sleeping mat, but found I always had to top it up with one or two extra breaths. I would always get to a point where no more air could be pushed out of the pump, however once pump is removed, find it still has room to breathe into.Works great but just requires one manual puff at the end.

You have to be careful with the dry bag and keep it away from sharp items. The bag feels significantly thinner than the sealline blocker lite bags.Haven't tested the waterproof abilities but it holds in air just fine when the valve is plugged into the port on the bottom of the bag. The port is also great feature to help you squeeze air out of the bag. Works kind of like a purge valve on some of the air purge dry bags (e-vent, sealline blocker with purge) but you just have to plug the valve back manually.Only thing I would change is if it could be a rectangle shape like the sealline and ... MoreGreat multi purpose item. I had seen this used in a video clip but wasn't really convinced, but with the purchase of a new double self inflating mattress, I didn't really want to have to continually get down in a tight corner space to do a mouth to mouth top up each time of use. So I decided to give it a go and it was easier than I thought. I frequently move camp daily when out 4WDriving, so I recently had 4 opportunities to evaluate. It takes no space to store (just sits in the corner of the double swag near the mattress inflate valve) and after the first few goes you become an expert pretty quickly. I am now more than happy to use this sack instead of becoming breathless.
I have purchased both the Sea to Summit pumps to inflate my Large Comfort Plus Insulated Sea to Summit mat. I found the Jet Stream pump to be a great "little pump" its spring wire frame makes for easy pumping only issue is that it is quite small and takes a lot of pumping to inflate the whole mat. Air Stream Dry Sack is a fantastic large "pump" unlike the Jet Stream this doesn't automatically fill but after a short breath to expand the bag full of air you just roll the large volume of Air into your mat. Overall I probably prefer the Air Stream Dry Sack as it fills my mat so much quicker and easier with only 4 "pumps".In regards to purchasing off Snowys I have found them to be the best outdoor seller to date. I've been using this Air Stream pump for five years, anywhere from 2-4 weeks of backpacking each year. It still works to inflate my mattress, but the seam tape failed and fell off after four years so I replaced it with sil-net seam sealer, made for sil-nylon fabric. I will say that it never filled the mattress in three rounds, more like 6-8.As a stuff sack it is big, my down quilt only fills half of it. It would be easy to fit even a winter sleeping bag in it.
