Samsung Galaxy A54 5G (128GB, Awesome Violet)

Had this for about 3.5 months and it's been great! Needed a new one with good battery life and this one only needs to be charged about every other day with my usage. Works very well considering how cheap it was. If you don't need all the fancy bells and whistles and are on a budget, this is the phone for you. Does all the basics just fine! Only "con" is it can lag and be a little slow, but I didn't want 5G for my own reasons. I'm very happy with this phone and hope it lasts longer than my last one!

Pros: Only the fact that the retailer (which I am not allowed to mention) is a company I deem to be trustworthy.Cons: Whilst I understand that this is not the fault of Samsung, the fact that Google takes control over pretty much everything, moving stuff around, making things difficult to find, is extremely annoying. As a proof-reader with over 40 years experience, the so-called 'spellcheck' often has errors, which particularly infuriates me! Also, there is no option to install a dual keyboard; my last phone, a Samsung J3 16, had this feature, simply swiping between UK English & Greek to swap languages.

For weeks Tesco stores had increased the price of the A13's to 179 following a labeling problem. As we wanted to upgrade 2 x A20e phones this priced them out of our market, so when we spotted the same phone on the Tesco eBay site at 139 we jumped at them. I ordered 2 on Friday, they arrived Tuesday (not Monday as promised) Slightly bigger & a little heavier than our old A20e's. Most Samsung Galaxy's work in the same way - so things like ring tone, camera etc work like my old phone. It was a (fairly) simple process - even for a 61-year old - to move existing numbers & smart switch from old phone to new. As we are already Tesco Mobile customers, & having existing Samsung phones (& chargers - none came with new phones - enviro-friendly, apparently), we simply saved our numbers to the micro sim, & using the lead provided, we followed the Smart Switch app to transfer our photos messages & (most of) apps onto the new phone. Some more "personal" apps (ie: banking etc) do not transfer using Smart Switch (tip - dont wipe your old phone until you've checked/compared) The whole set-up on 2 x phones was completed by me within a couple of hours.
