This year marks my 40th year in the industry, and I've been a big fan of Sachtler for a long time. This tripod is the best I've ever encountered. It's light, well balanced, fast, goes low enough for a sit down interview yet high enough to shoot someone standing who's 6'4 without looking up their nose. If it's like my other Sachtler gear, they'll last decades. I'm happy with the purchase.

I use this tripod with a Sachtler DV6SB head and video cameras in the 5-8 pound range (Panasonic CX350, UX180, PX270, etc.). It replaced a set of carbon fiber Miller Solo DV sticks (which are still great). The Flowtech legs are heavier but noticeably more rigid, go up higher and are easier to carry thanks to the flat leg profile. (The Bluestar neoprene pad for these legs is also a fine product and makes carrying the rig for longer distances more comfortable.) I prefer to work without the mid spreader most of the time. It isn't usually needed unless you aren't satisfied with the preset angles of the legs, and adds weight and extra adjustments to the setup. The signature leg locking mechanism may save a few seconds while setting up, but it doesn't feel that ... Although not quite perfect, all in all this was a sturdy upgrade to my previous main tripod, and I'm glad I was able to get it at the Deal Zone price.

The Flowtech 75 is a very nice tripod. It?s very lightweight and super easy to set-up and adjust. I prefer a mid-level spreader for the added support. The only reason I did not give five starts is, the carbon fiber is fairly easily damaged. We had one fall out of our production truck and brake. This is our second set of sticks. We still have not received the 608 fluid head. It's backordered. The new-normal post COVID is apparently things take a long time to get. We've been waiting for over three weeks. But Adorama was great. We needed the tripod legs first and they shipped them right away. We're just waiting on the head and ball.

So I have only had this a few days and yet to use under real world critical situation. Ive been practicing moving around and setting up and breaking down in a rush. This morning I took it out of the bag and the legs wouldnt open...I started fiddling with the legs and the locks that prevent the legs from opening all the way and turning the tripod upside down. As I did I noticed that there was a rattling and eventually 2 set screws fell out (one from each leg) they were jamming the mechanism. They appear to have also chipped the part of the tripod that prevents free movement of the legs as well as made scoring marks (as seen in the photos attached. Not sure if this is a random case of extra parts, or if those screws served a purpose. It seems to work well after this ... This is the best tripod design that I have seen in my almost 40 years of shooting film and video. It's lightweight and easy to adjust and level even when the camera is mounted. I love having the locks where they are easy to reach. It is perfectly steady when using a fully rigged out Canon C300 and 40" slider. The magnets keep the legs firmly together for easy transport. It has all the build quality that you expect from Sachtler. I does have an odd rainstick sound effect when extending the legs, but that's an observation not a criticism. I would definitely recommend this tripod. Yes it's $$$$ (it's Sachtler), but your back will appreciate it at the end of the day.
The total bill for this tripod is $2000 - $3500 depending on which fluid head you get. It really is a nice tripod, some parts of it aren't as high quality as I thought, such as the aktiv bowl connector clamp. It is made of cheap plastic which was very difficult to install so that was a bad initial impression but overall it's miles ahead of other tripods I've used.I'll probably buy another one for my B-camera once I've decided which speed level fluid head to get. Using the slider adapter for now.

It is far and away faster to setup, easier to raise and lower, easier to carry when folded and easier to move with the camera on the sticks thanks to the included handle. They are very rigid.The only con I've noticed is that sometimes the feet tend to get twisted or don't flatly contact the ground when setting up, probably from getting bumped around while folded up.... but I've never had this happen with any other tripod. It's not a big deal, happens rarely and I just tweak it back to normal and I'm good to go.I do wonder about long-term wear and tear. I've already got some good scratches in the carbon fiber legs ... When you go to spread the legs it takes some effort to pull the legs out which causes extra strain on the mid-level spreader and over time the mid-lever spreader breaks. I have now bought 3 mid-level spreader. I've found that I get about 18 months of good to heavy use before the spreader decides to go. Sachtler definitely needs to improve this. I've included a picture to show where the spreader decides to break. And all three have broken in the exact same place. So, if you plan to use these legs a lot, you might want to figure in $200+ for a replacement mid-level spreader...every year or two. Definitely not ideal. ... What an amazing combo. The Sachtler Flowtech 75 is amazing. Truly a game changer for efficiency on set. I have owned a lot of tripod heads. Lots. Too many. For the most part if they do their job then they are fine. The Nitrotech is a step above. I love the fluid balance and the drop in quick release is awesome.
I really like the design of these legs and the fast deployment of height adjustment. The legs are light and compact, and appear to be well made. I wish the red clamps at the top of the tripod were made of metal, as I wonder if they will break over time.
