A below average purchase

Bought this a month ago, struggles to cut at the higher end of its cutting distance, the back metal saw protection is wonky and therefore the work can jump when making long cuts, have had to keep it completely loose and remove plastic cover entirely so that long cuts can get past it, all the screws come lose when operating so require constant tightening to prevent bad cuts. Generally a fan of Ryobi tools but this one is a let down. Portable design is not really portable when trying to collapse the saw for moving (needs 2 people). The spanner and wrench fall off when moving as its just a nub that they sit on. Instructions are poor and the measure tape does not seem to reflect anything in relation to the saw. A bit guttered about this purchase.

I purchased this unit for general home renovations and found that the guide rails had to be continually checked and adjusted to get anything like a square cut on sheets. The adjustment knobs for the table width adjustment broke off and the whole unit was quite unsteady. The timber being cut would continually jam as the guide rails aren't square to the blade and this has now just resulted in the motor being burnt out. Lesson learnt- in my belief go to a real brand with solid table and adjusters/guides and live without the grief of this unit

Dissapointed, Ryobi used to be good

I have lots of Ryobi tools both Blue and Green.Purchased this saw approximately a month ago now.The Riving knife did not align with the blade.the Rip fence is difficult to align and moves easily even when locked. The work table of the saw is un-level and this is difficult to rectify even with the adjustable foot as not enough adjustment is available. The Mitre gauge is sloppy in the slot.Motor bearing makes worrying (DRY)noise when slowing down.Contacted support 3 week wait for response.Returned and swapped over the saw.The new saw is better in many ways but the legs do not align correctly and will not lock when up.Also the push stick was missing from the saw accessories.

Good buy
7 December 2018

Had this saw for a few months now. Very easy to setup and store. Doesn't take up much space when it's folded up. Had to sand the dust port a bit to get my shop vac to fit. Setting the bevel is a pain since the scale is just a sticker slapped onto the front and it's not straight, making it off by a few degress. Engraved would've been better. The fence is okay. Not perfectly square though. I push my speed square against the fence to calibrate it. The mitre guage is pretty naf. There's quite a bit of play in the channel. I find a crosscut sled is better to use. A few faults, but nothing that you can't fix or workaround. Very glad I bought one!

Good tool but several major issues
5 June 2020

Bought it one week ago. Still cannot get the kick back mechanism into place.Instruction manual is useless - no parts are named and no instructions given - just confusing sketches. Web site is exactly the same. The dust outlet will not fit any known extractor including my Ryobi workshop vaccuum (albeit quite old). Neither vendor, (Bunnings) nor Godfreys (nation wide vaccuum cleaner vendors), could help. Have rigged make-shift connection with duct tape! The blade was not fitted correctly and was touching the table top. Cannot understand the fence with its three different levels and a couple of slotted bolts and the manual does not explain it..

Great features for a handyman saw
6 February 2022

The saw is not perfect however after using a few times and understanding its quirks I am able to consistently achieve satisfactory results. The fold up legs and transport wheels work really well and make setup and moving the saw a breeze. The fence is a little quirky but now I have mastered it very easy to use.Have swapped the blade for a 60T for cleaner finish.Love the blade guard. Easy to remove and refit.Tools are conveniently attached to the side of the saw.Overall very pleased.

Not a good buy
29 January 2023

I've had it a bit over a year and still very disappointed in it. I only use it for small home projects. It will not cut straight no matter what I do. I've tried to measure off both ends of the blade to the straight edge but as soon as you try to lock the straight edge in it moves. I have over 25 Ryobi tools in my shed and this is the only one I would NOT recommend to anyone.

Ok at home, Not for work
26 September 2021

Having been a builder in the past I have used many more expensive table saws so this review is not based with out comparison. The good. The price. Great to put away and store. Powerful enough for the weekend DIYer. Soft start is nice and easy to use. The bad. Can not rip 600mm. The rip fence and this is the biggest fault it will not lock square to the blade. If you were relying on this for work that would be a deal bracker. At home yes not ideal but using a roofing square with the the fence makes it work.

Poor Accuracy and Difficult to Use
6 December 2022

Purchased for use in cutting plywood sheets. Has no accuracy what so every and is very difficult to use.You would have wished you purchased the Ozito for less money...Ended up purchasing the Dewalt and is 100% worth the extra money.

Subpar DIYer table saw - the poor man pays twice

As noted in all previous reviews: Major issues> General build quality - definitely not for precision work.- My units blade is 2 degrees out of parallel and therefore the timber would be obviously not straight once cut (attempts made at adjusting and with no success, appears to be the motors alignment to the frame).- The ripping fence is absolute garbage, you need to continuously measure and square the fence to parallel for pieces to be somewhat straight (once cutting the fence can easily slide back out of alignment) [adds to the difficulty of units blade not being parallel].- Ryobi ratings not accurate/or faulty unit: Ryobi states the max depth of cut is 80mm at 90. Just before writing this review, my unit died after attempting to cut 70mm pine for a castle joint. With fair use, I managed to complete 3 projects (at largest 40mm Vic ash), purchased may 2021. Returning for a full refund with receipt, will be upgrading to one of the brands providing a rack & pinion rip fence.I'm not a builder or a contractor just your average home DIYer, but I guess I may have pushed my unit to its limits. I understand it's not suppose to compete with other professional table saws and that its priced where it is as such, but Ryobi needs to address the simple flaws and update the unit alongside their new HP line.Anyone reading this review genuinely interested in buying a table saw for some DIY wood working; don't buy this. You'll be frustrated with the flaws and fuming when your work piece isn't straight or level. You'll end up wasting money on expensive timber to get a poor result from this table saw. I can keep going on about the negatives, but the only positive is that it taught me what to look out for when buying a different table saw :)
