Compact design. Fits well in corner of kitchen. Lovely design. Brushed stainless steel. Easy to clean. Just wipe over. Average size large slices of bread fits perfectly in slots.Toasts quickly, and evenly. Particularly like a switch each for two slots of bread, another switch for further two slots. You can save electricity if you only want to toast two slices. Some toasters you have only one switch for four slices, and use the same power for two or four slices.

The toaster does not heat to a high temperature. I have to use the highest setting just to make the bread toast to a pale colour. At least burning the toast is not an option. This toaster is a smart addition to my kitchen, it is just a shame that the heating element is so poor.

Looks good but not a thorough heat and so takes a long time to brown toast. Doesn't hold a slice of bread properly and so have to turn it round for an even browning. Its super lightweight and easy clean. But I wouldn't recommend it.

Pros: Easy to operate and consistent results. Warm setting works well.Cons: Slots are a bit short, so long slices are a struggle. It is slow to toast to an average brown. First toaster had a mechanical fault with the riser, but replacement has not had similar problems.
Pros: It looks smart and the controls are okay, but overall I think it is a case of style over substance.Cons: In their efforts to save money, they have made a toaster with slots smaller than normal slices of bread. How many people would not be happy to pay an extra pound or two, if the resulting product was actually fit for purpose?
The russell Hobbs 18790 toaster was lighter than our old one but does have a good spread of heat for an even toast. The slots are nice and wide.
Saw this in an electrical superstore and bought one. What I didn’t see at time of purchase was the length and location of the mains cable.RH have fitted a paltry 50cm of usable cable and routed it from THE FRONT of the machine.Since most of us use a toaster on a worktop which generally have wall mounted sockets at, wait for it, the rear of the worktops this makes this design feature the silliest I’ve come across in years. It’s going straight back to where I bought it tomorrow for one with a longer, more user friendly, cable.Come along Mr Hobbs, you really need to try harder.
Make sure to read the simple instructions as bedding the elements in correctly makes this toaster work exactly as you want it to. After bedding in the elements I selected number 4 as an appropriate place to start assessing how my perfectly cooked piece of toast should be. 1st slice was evenly brown all the way to the edges and still soft in the middle. It was VERY close to perfect a little less and it was there for me. It's simple to use and works great. I had struggled with a far more expensive and flashier toaster for years which I am glad to say is now residing in the bin and good riddance.
Awful build quality. All four pop-ups have failed within about five months - the first only lasted a couple of weeks before it had rattled itself so loose it no longer stayed within its guide slot. The others followed suit. This is from light domestic use - no more than six slices a day, usually a lot less. When it was functioning, it often popped up so vigorously that the toast left the machine and ended up on the work surface. Presumably this is what lead to it breaking.
Our old toaster died. 12 years of trusty service, but the elements were broken in places and the bread was coming out half done. One quick visit to the Grattan site and the shiny Morphy Richards was definitely the one we needed. We are really enjoying properly toasted bread again!!
