Soooooo I never owned and iron before this 😑 I’m not going to lie I was perturbed about finally getting one but here we are! First impression was it was heavy when I took it out the box, I thought I was about to start power lifting, there are lots of buttons and dials so I diligently read the instructions that were clear and easy to understand. When I first used it I noticed the weight wasn’t a problem and I was shocked at how well it actually removed the creases without my going over them 200 times so I was very impressed but then I thought, being a newbie and all, I should let my mom test it, a lifelong ironer, a true master of the craft so here is her review: My initial review of the Russell Hobbs powersteam ultra 20630 My first thought when I took the iron out ... MoreSoooooo I never owned and iron before this 😑 I’m not going to lie I was perturbed about finally getting one but here we are! Not a good start. I set the challenge. Two pairs of ladies trousers made from viscose, polyamide and elastine, which you definitely don’t want to put in the dryer unless you want them to shrink 2 sizes! Also, 2 men’s 100% thick cotton. They’d all been line dried, for way too long, and then left overnight in the basket. Would the iron meet the challenge?! I filled the water taken about 75% and tried half of each garment without steam and then with. I actually didn’t see any difference between the 2 methods. Both gave the same very good results. The steamer was a bit ‘aggressive’ when I stood it up. Maybe that’s because it’s new and will settle down. I did appear to waste a lot of the water in the tank so it looks like you’d need to keep filling it up if you had a large load to iron When ironing bed sheets it was really amazing, it took a fraction of the time. Overall extremely happy only downside is the size of the water tank I’d say.

I broke my last iron by knocking it off the ironing board so it was important to replace it with a steam iron that was sturdy enough to stay put. I found this iron fitted that requirement very well and did everything expected of it even beeping at me when I stopped to have a conversation. It was reminding me it was still on. I was very impressed. I dropped one point when rating this product only because I didn’t find it very easy to empty out the water after use. The cap opens to the right and when using my right hand to tip it to the left to empty it, the cap flaps back over getting in the way of the water flow causing it to splash all over the place. Apart from this small point, I am very pleased with this iron.

But it's too big and heavy for normal stuff and small "corners". It's not ideal for the most usual day by day ironing. It also keeps dripping water on the bits already ironed and its nose is very tricky around buttons. Unfortunately, I will have to return it and get a smaller size

8 April 2024

The most durable and top performance iron that I ever used . Feels very havy when lifted, but this definitely helps in diminishing the laundry creases much easier and in full. With the ceramic non-stick sole plate, the iron glides quickly, and jo effort is needed because it performs brilliantly from the 1st attempt. The steam power is amazing and can also be controlled with a press of a button. With an amazing 3100w, it is the best to use for Jean's, thick curtains, and even thinner rugs if needed. You must be careful because it can set up to very high temperature and some garmets do not perform well on high temperature. Love the functionality of this iron and will definitely recommend

[Rewarded Review] Good Everyday Iron
24 April 2024

The Russell Hobbs 3100w Powersteam Ultra Iron is a great little iron for everyday use. It has steam and non steam settings and is really easy to use. The dial relates to clothing labels so super easy to get the right settings. It’s not too heavy, so you do need to press into creases to get them out. The iron comes with a little water jug and the nozzle fits so well into the iron so you fill up without spilling. It has a flat bottom so stands up on tables and ironing boards, as with all irons it needs a level of safety. It is corded, and there are a lot of cordless contenders out there these days but the lead is quite long so no problems there!I would recommend as a good everyday iron.

19 May 2024

This iron is brilliant. It's very sturdy and well made. It's a bit heavier compared to my old one but not and issue at all for me . It heats up quickly and makes ironing our clothes so much easier and faster . It's got a long cable which is always handy in case you haven't got any plugs close by. I like to use the steam setting which makes ironing so much faster even on the most stubborn creases . The ceramic plate works well on all materials I've ironed so far . It also has a self clean function to remove any build up of limescale. It's a good iron to take with us on a holiday as it's not too big and will fit well in the suitcase.Overall this is a powerful iron that does a very good job and is very affordable. I highly recommend it .

[Rewarded Review] It's good but elements could be improved
18 April 2024

Good weight, gets hot very quickly & has even heat distribution. Steam selector & quick blasts feature is ok, however continual use for steaming comes out at quite a high pressure so it rebounds off.The cleaning function is effective, however I found the button placement for it very difficult to use. If you can hold the iron and press the button its fine but you need fairly long fingers for that. Having to use your other hand to press this button risks steam hitting your hand. The one big negative I found was a lack of any kind of grip or place to hold the cable when storing the iron.

9 April 2024

Brilliant iron with a long lead so can be pretty much used everywhere. It is a simple plug in and use. The steam function makes ironing so much quicker especially for my husbands work shirts and school uniforms. It is great for getting in those annoying corners. I also sew so the steam function is brilliant for getting those creases out of fabric that has been folded for storage. It has many settings so can pretty much be used on any fabric. The buttons are easy to use and in the right place for use. Easy to store, it is slightly heavier then my other iron but no problems with that. It comes with a little jug to fill it up with water. I personally love the jug as it just pours in without any spills or leaks. The iron can then be emptied after use just as easy as you ... MoreBrilliant iron with a long lead so can be pretty much used everywhere. It is a simple plug in and use. This is quite a nifty iron. I haven’t tested many and my previous iron was a hand me down so it’s expected to be a massive improvement and that it is. This really didn’t disappoint. The iron itself is heavier than my previous iron but it feels more sturdy. The buttons are easy to use and navigate. It heats up really quick so it really handy when you’re in a rush and need to get a few creases out! The design is sleek and modern. The tip of the iron is quite pointy so good to get in the corners of clothes (shirts for example). It has a self clean feature and has a decent amount of steam when pressed. It comes with a 3 year guarantee and from person experience, Russell Hobbs are very good with replacements if needed. Overall super happy with my new iron!

[Rewarded Review] Replacement iron
27 June 2024

My previous iron didn’t seem to heat up very much so after checking out reviews on various sites, I settled for this one. I have used it a couple of times and it does the job. The steam is powerful, the burst of steam very useful, particularly on hard to iron stuff like our linen bedding and it has a long cord on it. You can use plain water in the tank but personally I’m sticking to ironing water to help stop it scaling up. We do live in a hard water area so maybe soft water wouldn’t be an issue. The three year warranty is good. So far so good and I’m pleased with my new iron.
