Roland VAD706 V-Drums Acoustic Design Electronic Drum Kit in Gloss Ebony
Roland s VAD706 (V-Drums Acoustic Design) is a hybrid kit which brings together the power and presence that comes with a full-scale acoustic drumkit, with the game changing technology for which V-Drums has become so famous for. Full-size wooden shells with beautifully lacquered maple finish plies and Roland s now legendary multi-ply mesh heads offer a quiet and fully customisable response with each and every hit. Everything from the piercing crack of a tight snare drum, right through to the warm thump of a large kick drum is here inside the gorgeous VAD706. With this stunning range, you can truly feel, sense and approach the way you play drums in an entirely new way. Taking a look at the kit as a whole, Roland s staggeringly responsive, multi-zone V-Cymbals deliver all the expression and response you would expect from traditional cymbals, lending themselves brilliantly well to all playing styles, from hard hitting metal, to soulful blues and jazz styles. Roland also kitted the VAD706 range out with the new game-changing TD-50X module, a full-sized digital snare, ride and hi-hats. With all of this, alongside the 22 kick drum, 10/12/14 toms, the VAD706 accentuates the tiny details and nuances in your drumming that would otherwise be perhaps missed using a traditional, beaten up old kit. For a lot of drummers, it might not be enough just to sound great, it s also important to look the part too, and with the VAD706, you can rest assured you ll command a serious stage presence!

This is a great kit, plays well, feels natural, the cymbals are brilliant, especially the ride and HH. The cross stick is amazing compared to other kits and the finish is just gorgeous! It is a little finicky to setup on your own so get some help if possible, and the module is overwhelming at first, but the variety it gives is insane! My only issue is that the first two toms connect to the cymbals, it’s not really my thing and I found it a little hard to get them how I like them without risking my cymbal placement. But other than that- excellent kit.

Overall, this kit looks and sounds amazing! This was an upgrade from a TD-25 and after owning this kit for a year, I still enjoy playing it for several hours a day.- The drums shells are high quality and play like acoustic drums.- The TD-50X has so much potential. Seems like it can make whatever sound you want, but temper your expectations out of the box. The shipping kits are not strong. The TD-25 kits were significantly better. The very first thing I did was buy a few kits online. It's a bit better, but still not the basic DW/OCDP/Zildjian sound I'm going for. Given you can upload samples and tweak everything, it seems possible to do if you invest the time dialing it in.- The VH-14D hi-hat was a welcomed upgrade compared to the VH-10. The open/close required a bit of patience to dial in.- The hardware looks great, but locks you into the configuration shown in the picture. If you play with toms flat, that doesn't really work out of the box because the rack tom and cymbal are on same stand.- Uploading kits and/or making kits based on samples is time consuming on the device. Would be greatly appreciated if there was a software way to ease interacting with the TD-50X.If you're on the fence about getting this kit, I would encourage you to get it. If you're tight on space, check out the TD-50KV2.
