This product appears to be composed of blood and feather meal, making it an excellent organic source of nitrogen (though it may not be appropriate for vegan gardeners). It provides quite the boost to leafy greens and is loved by earthworms, however there are a couple of drawbacks.First off, it has quite the smell, which may be an issue if you were planning to use it to fertilise indoor plants. Second, as it's very rich organic matter, if it's not properly worked into the soil, I've found that it can rot. Normally decomposition wouldn't be a huge deal but in this case, since it's made from animal products, it seems to attract a lot of flies and hence maggots. A large chunk of it (probably the feather meal) doesn't appear to be very soluble in water and hence needs ... MoreThis product appears to be composed of blood and feather meal, making it an excellent organic source of nitrogen (though it may not be appropriate for vegan gardeners). This stuff is fantastic. I added it to all my plants both potted and planted at the beginning of Spring and it gave them all a huge boost of new growth. I have everything from fruit trees to native hedges and I applied it at the base of all of them. Every plant saw new shoots within a week. Highly recommend it.

I have a particular plant that though alive, it's foliage was kind of stunted....this did the trick...it produced a couple of new leaves pretty quickly after applying this...it's a particularly nitrogen hungry beauty.
I needed more nitrogen for leaf growth and height so I used this for my shrub (no flowers)
My finger lime tree was in dire need of nitrogen and the 2.5kg bag of Richgro Nitrogen was the only product that was suitable, it was the right volume and product.
