Pureology Style + Protect Refresh & Go Dry Shampoo (150g)

I received this complimentary dry shampoo as part of the Pureology HydrateSheer campaign, the items for which which arrived for me in the mail the second to last week of this past December. I would say that overall this dry shampoo was a relatively good fit for my hair type which I would describe as 'combination' in the sense that my root areas are often a little on the oilier side and comparatively more prone to product buildup, whereas the mid length to tips/ends of my hair, in particular, are on the far drier side and more easily prone to breakage and overall damage such as split ends (sometimes even multiple splits per individual hair, unfortunately). My hair texture is fine or thin and straight to slightly wavy depending on what method it is styled or dried with at a given time. Keep in mind, this is an aerosol product if that is of some concern to you for any reason(s), as well as that it does contain a fair amount of alcohol in the ingredients which may be worth noting since for myself and many others, alcohol in hair products may tend to have a drying effect over time. That being said, when. using this dry shampoo product, I actually did not find it overly drying on my hair, and fairly balanced instead compared with a number of other dry shampoo products I have used in the past from different brands. The smell, as dry shampoos go at least, was one I did not find was overly harsh or off-putting to my senses. However as with any dry shampoo or other hair products if course, it is important to find the right balance of how much of the product to use and what areas of your hair to distribute it to the most - for example, when using this item myself, I began by spraying the product near my root and scalp areas a moderate amount, then using my upper palms and fingertips to distribute the rest of the product more fully as well as a little lower down into my hair. This isn't a product I would say you necessarily must worry about being to 'gentle' or delicate either when initially applying (spraying the product I to desired areas or distributing it as evenly as desired into that or other areas of your hair). The price point is a little bit on the high side in my opinion however as I would not consider it *far* superior to some other types and brands of dry shampoo products I have tried in the past so far. That being said, I personally would consider it a good quality dy shampoo and it may be a good option to consider at least looking into if you have a similar hair type and condition to mine, as described above.

First, I would like that it has a great fresh clean smell so when you use it in the morning it smells like you have just showered but it’s not overpowering. Second, it doesn’t leave the white powdery residue that other dry shampoo brands can leave on dark hair. For a while and I’ve been against any white dry shampoos with my darker roots because they do show up but this one definitely doesn’t and I very much appreciate that. I’ve tried a good many dry shampoos because my hair gets very greasy by the very next day or even at the end of the same day sometimes, depending on if I use conditioner or the brand of shampoo. I switch a lot Bc it’s hard for me to find the right products specifically for my hair needs. (I’m lovin’ this whole Pureology set though Bc I was even able to use the conditioner and my hair didn’t feel heavy and weighed down afterwards, nor did it get greasy by the end of the day.) I totally recommend this product. There’s legit only one, well now two, that I like and I’ve used a lot of them.

I have tried a wide variety of dry shampoos (from drug store to high-end). Some end up leaving my hair feeling greasier, some are too powdery and some have awful scents. You’ll experience none of the above with this dry shampoo! And I admit, I didn’t expect much upon application. I sprayed before bed, waited a few minutes, massaged it in and went to sleep. Conscious Beauty - for who?

I love Pureology products and was excited to try this dry shampoo. It does work nice - don't get me wrong, but what I cannot get past is the ingredients! Two of the first three ingredients on the label are butane and propane. I don't know about you, but I would never knowingly put butane and propane on my head, and since it's a spray, you're also ingesting it. Another ingredient further down the list is aluminum starch. I trusted that this product if was high quality and good for my hair because of the brand, but unfortunately I was wrong. Lesson learned - just because something is 'vegan' and 'conscious beauty' does not mean it is good for you. And, always read the ingredients before buying. That said, the formula is gentle and tackles oil without stripping strands, so it seems logical that it’s protective in other ways, too, color, for instance.Pureology’s vegan formulas are a plus. I believe the Living proof dry shampoo is vegan as well.The only downside with Pureology is that it takes quite a lot of product to achieve a “clean” dry shampoo look, and this is not exactly an inexpensive purchase. I love the look and the feel. I wish the bottle had a few more sprays and a few more days' worth of beautiful hair! I will purchase and highly recommend it to those with fine hair, hoping to achieve a natural style that is soft and shiny. I love pureology. I use their shampoo conditioner leave in products etc routinely and I've never had any problems. I normally use the batiste dry shampoo but I wanted to try this one after hearing some good things from a friend of mine. For starters, the product is not effective for long periods of time without having to reapply. My hair still looked oily at my roots unless I used an insane amount of product, and I'd have to reapply abt 4 hrs after initial application. The biggest downfall of this product is the ingredients. I have sensitive skin and my entire face is broken out right now from contact dermatitis with ingredients in this product. I literally have small bumps all around my eyes across my forehead and on my temples / cheeks. Please do your research, I ... MoreI love pureology. Like it, will buy again, but not obsessed

It's good, works well. Tbh, it's very similar to Living Proof in effectiveness (and they're both a little pricey so 🤷‍♀️). That said, I may order it again, as the travel size is a nice size to slip in the purse. Overall, it doesn't leave any residue on my fine dark blonde hair, and works very well. I need to use a normal amount, comparable to other brands (so the "only need to use a small amount" thing didn't apply here). It does leave my hair "clean" but -- given how fine my hair is -- it also leaves it rather flat. If there was a Pureology dry shampoo + volume...well, that, I'd be obsessed with.
