Pureology Color Fanatic Top Coat and Tone Blue 200ml

I received this Pureology Color Fanatic Top Coat + Tone in the color Copper complimentary in exchange for my personal review. I have always had good experiences using Pureology hair products so it is a surprise that I didn't love this one. I think it was the color Copper - I shouldn't have even tested it on medium blonde/strawberry blonde hair. I do think it's my fault that I had a bad outcome becausethe color i recievedwas just not a good fit for my color.It is very easy to use - just one bottle has enough product for multiple uses. Make sure to use it in a space that you can easily clean up any drips or it will stain. Definitely wear gloves and follow the instructions exactly. If you have a darker more vibrant hair color, this will definitely revive or breathe new life into your hair color.I do not recommend this for people who are losing pigment in their hair (from age) or who have light colored hair in the first place. My hair turned a terrible orange color in some places yet there was no change at the roots where im losing pigment. A quick color correction had to be done a day after testing this product so that i could go outside. Lol.I would recommend it for true red or copper hair colors, but again, not for any shade of blonde or even strawberry blonde. This does come in other shades and is a quick alternative to box kits.

I applied the product in sections working from the front to back of my head. I also combed throughout my hair for even saturation. I then waited approximately five minutes and rinsed my hair thoroughly. The scent was not strong at all, it was more of an aromatherapy blend. Later, I learned it consisted of rose, floral ginger and cedarwood. The results are said to last approximately 6 washes. So far, I am 3 washes in and it is still pretty vibrant! I also like that this product is sulfate free and vegan. I would definitely recommend this product for your specific hair color.

The first time I left it on for 5 minutes and the second for 10 minutes. The 10 minutes resulted in more hair being highlighted more and my hair even softer than the first time (after picture in photo I used). The color of the product coming out is goldish so the second time I did not use gloves. It did not stain my hands but I washed them immediately after applying. The only reason I knocked a star off is that color, silky, smooth does wear off quick. I alone noticed a difference in the silky-smooth feeling of my hair from me sleeping on my pillow each morning.

I received the “gold” color- my hair is very light blonde, as I have aged my hair didn’t go grey, I just got more platinum/white. I shampooed my hair as normal, rinsed and removed as much water as I could. Color Fanatic Top Coat Hair Gloss is in a bottle with a twist up top, this top makes it easy to apply to your roots, like a hair color bottle. I let my hair air dry and noticed that it had a nice gold hue, this lasted for 5 days of daily washing with little fade. The positive was that the gold hue blended beautifully- it wasn’t patchy, the gloss definitely conditions and adds shine. The negative is that it deposited a more orange tone onto my more course, platinum grey hair, on my scalp I looked more stripey, unfortunately this took longer to fade… I mean of course lol, the bit I didn’t like is still pretty orange. My suggestion would be to do a quick strand test, I found on my second application, that 5 minutes was long enough and I don’t apply to the hair close to my scalp.

I have naturally curly, half undyed naturally brown hair on top, half WAY over-processed, bleached platinum-ish blonde hair from mid-lengths to ends. Copper Obsessed

I literally never write reviews, but I had to for this product! I spent over $400 getting my hair balayaged 2 weeks ago with a copper tone. Literally after the first wash the copper tone was cut I half & by the second wash the highlights were completely blonde & no longer copper whatsoever. I saw this product on Tiktok and started researching color-depositing products, and especially all of the red options and I did NOT want to end up looking like a firetruck, but I really wanted that beautiful copper tone I had when I left the salon.I purchased this, and did two tests strips. First one I left on for 10 minutes and it was definitely very bright red, too bright for me. Again, this will fade but it was still not what I was after. Also a tip if you have a lot of hair like me, I didn't want the parts I first applied to to sit for longer than the last section so I split it into two, top and bottom and did each section one at a time. I applied on the bottom only, waited 5 mins, rinsed out. Then applied to top only, waited 5, rinse. I found that gave me an even all over color! I did it in the shower and with gloves on but had no issues with staining my shower or my hands as I rinsed it out. Also no staining on my towels or clothes or anything while it was drying!

Blonde can go a lot of different ways, but I did want a bit of a warm glow as we are heading into Autumn, with the option to wash out in case I didn’t like it. This ended up being a subtle, but beautiful solution. It is a bit difficult to apply on yourself but I followed the instructions carefully. The product also sort of foams up or expands as you apply, making even application a bit easier. I left it in for about 8 minutes before rinsing and conditioning (it really depends on how porous your hair is). The result if a really soft golden glow. Overall, I think this is a great product to use in between salon visits or to make subtle shifts in your color, as well as helping tame and soften your hair texture. Works on stubborn brassy hair

You can see in the pics this worked for me, cleaned it up a bit. ( before and after) I have tried everything under the sun, high end expensive toners and lower end toners , lots of different brands, the ONLY one that works for my hair is "Brass off " by Matrix for brunettes ( I have very light blonde bleached hair, it's fine and damaged ), that Matrix mask & shampoo is a blueish purple mask and wipes out all the brassiness for me , but I now have a second option and am thrilled ! My hairdresser told me I need more of a blue toner because I have more orangey yellow gold colors that start coming out ( vs only yellow), she was right no purple toners work on my hair but the blue pureology Top Coat worked great to clean it up .It's a medium dark blue with some purple ... MoreYou can see in the pics this worked for me, cleaned it up a bit. I did spray Ouai leave in conditioner on before blow drying .I've tried the Pureology strength cure blonde purple shampoo & conditioner but they did nothing to tone my hair. I'll use it just as a good shampoo & conditioner now but doesn't help me with my brassiness. The top coat has a similar scent.This top coat did well for me. Very happy would buy again.
