Cheap Garbage made of cheap Garbage components, all the springs within the reel snapped after only one use as they are made of very poor quality, brittle metal. You get what you pay for I guess. Just don't expect it to last very long. I would rate Zero Stars if possible. Save your money and don't waste it on this Product.

A great pickup if it's ever on sale, but very comparable to cheaper Jarvis Walker combos.Reel is almost entirely made of cheap, fragile plastic. Winding arm can be a bit fiddly and flimsy. Pre-spun line is awful, but easily replaced.To its credit, it competently wrestled a decently-sized Mulloway without exploding, and I was very impressed by the drag control.Buy it if you're just getting in to fishing; replace it for something nicer, and keep it in the cupboard for a friend/future child.

The rod seems to hold up ok, but the reel... First outing, the line became tangled every cast.Eventually became tangled inside and underneath the spool. Spooling new line on the reel does seem to make a difference, but you're probably better off starting with something decent in the first place. Too much of a hassle. Do not recommend

Rod is good value, reel is rubbish had to replace it only used it once. It does not have ball bearings just a shaft and cog. Next time I will research it a bit more and not just listen to the salesmen who was too busy to really help me.
Very happy with the rod and reel, seems very solid. The only down side was the prespooled line on the reel. It comes off in coils when cast and is the first combo I’ve ever experienced consistent birds nests with when casting. I changed the line to braid and all good. Maybe the line was old? Great combo but change the fishing line.
I mean what else can you expect out of a $60 rod.. i bought it as my 1st rod to get into fishing, it's a bit flimsy but a pulled in a few redfin with it before getting a new one, so if you have a friend who wants to get into fishing but doesn't wanna spend a lot straight away i think it's a good choice, but after that you'd look into something a little sturdier.The reason why i wouldn't recommend to a friend is because they have been fishing longer then me so they all have better rods
Bought as a Christmas gift for a family member, came as a combo kit with tacklebox and rod/reel combo. So far has worked very well.
Took it out straight from the shop to the river to fish and it snapped within 30 minutes. Tiny black bream. Poor quality build. Would not be recommending it.
Difficult to cast without my son not getting tangled fishing line.
