Made with a hot soap process, it's left to mature in small batches for 10 days in a temperature-controlled room that protects it from temperature changes. During this time, the moisture evaporates and the product becomes solid and more concentrated, perfect for a professional shave with a brush. Its formula, which softens even the thickest and toughest beards, is enriched with Sandalwood Oil and Shea Butter. The blade glides easily and the beard, softened by the synergic action of the Pre-shaving Emollient Cream and Emollient Soap, is easier to shave. Dampen your Proraso brush and apply the soap to the brush using circular movements to produce a soft, compact lather. Spread on your beard and proceed with shaving. Close the lid after use to keep it from drying out and turning yellow. Even if the product dries, it will not lose its properties when reused.

I absolutely love the product but it is a super bad idea to put this soap in this ****** bottle that's gonna rip away your precious badger. I kept having badger hairs inside because of the rubbing on the plastic edge, and it is really hard to latter compare to the cream version and I feel like it is gonna be really hard to use near the bottom and I will have a lot of waste. The cream version is seriously MUCH BETTER. I feel like this thing is only good for those who are too cheap to buy themselve a real barber mug. Yes the mug is 30$ but do yourself a favor and go get one, you will thank me afterward. Other than the texture/bottle, the only major downside is that it is a MAJOR CLOGGER, like 5x more than any other soap/cream I've ever used but it does feel good on ... MoreI absolutely love the product but it is a super bad idea to put this soap in this ****** bottle that's gonna rip away your precious badger. You will have to take something to scrap it off inside ur rasor because just using the tap won't remove the thick clogging and you'll see for yourself if you don't believe me. It was my favorite type of cream/soap from Proraso until I try their red one for coarse beard which is just as good on my skin, but won't clog the blades.

This shaving soap is one of my favorites I have used. It is a soft soap, compared to a soap puck. You can run your finger through it and easily scoop it, or just load the brush right in the pot it comes with. It is easy to work with, and the scent is great. The cooling feeling it gives is really nice too. The slickness is pretty good, but the slickness does not last past the first pass. The soap provides very good coverage and protection, and I have never received a bump or any type of irritation while using it. The only downfall with this soap is that it leaves a white powdery residue over everything if not washed out really well - ie: shaving bowl, brush handle, razor handle.

I have very sensitive skin, as such I have to be very careful with what shaving products I use. I've used Proraso white before and have found it to be very capable. If you use it in conjunction with the Preshave and the Aftershave Balm, irritation becomes a thing of the past. The company must have re-packaged and reformulated all their shaving products---for the better! Hats off to Proraso! With regards to ordering through Fendrihan, the experience was easy, and straightforward, my order arrived in a timely, efficient, manner. The products that carried by Fendrihan are ALL top-notch, and of excellent quality. I have found that the prices are actually LOWER with Fendrihan than with my local drugstore! Will be buying ALL my personal grooming products through Fendrihan ... MoreI have very sensitive skin, as such I have to be very careful with what shaving products I use. I only started shaving with a safety razor this year so I'm pretty new to this shaving soaps thing. So far all I have used is Proraso white and red. I originally got the white because they had it at the drug store and it's a very good price. Plus I have used Proraso white in the aerosol can before and is the only soap I have found that can adequately replace Old Spices old shaving products (which I miss terribly). Plus also, I am Italian so these Italian shaving products I really like. I like the White a lot. It has a good price, these soaps will last a long time. Probably. I'm still on my first tub which I bought in February, 5 months ago and I've only just started to make a dent in it. The white soap smells amazing. Proraso soaps to me just smell so good I find myself opening them up randomly throughout the day just to smell them. They also Give fantastic shaves. It's hard to describe the scent of Proraso soaps as I find these soaps are just in a class all of there own. It's kind of like say you have a group of average ordinary things that are just dumped into one group, then you get another group that has few things put into it just because there are simply better than everything else. That's what's Proraso is. The white smells like to me walking through a meadow of flowers I guess. Nice and floral but not girly. Floral in a masculine kind of way. People say it has a menthol smell but I don't notice that. Super thick lather, good slickness but I also coconut oil as a preshave. Lathers super easy too.

Tried many other brands and I always seem to return to the Proraso range. They're just decent at everything, including the price. Usually? Helps if you have a decent brush though!

Excellent Soap for the money.
31 December 2016

My first experience with Proraso products was a bit rough. Coming from the tradition of tallowate soaps, I thought the green tube Proraso cream would be a step up. And it might have been, but I guess I've always been terrible at building lather from creams.. I knew that even though that particular product didn't exactly work with my brush/lathering methods, it was pretty good stuff. Had I started with this soap, I would still be using it. Not sure whether it's the soap format or the mild formulation of the product which does it for me, but with a light oil preshave, this stuff gives my beloved mitchell's a run for the money. The lather is light but wet- rather like mitchell's- there is only the lightest fragrance to speak of: Like white tea. The lather is light but wet- rather like mitchell's- there is only the lightest fragrance to speak of: Like white tea. This soap seems to use coconut oil as an emollient, but it is not overbearing in any way (for example: like how tallow soaps can feel oily to some). Rinses clean and dry. I bought this soap for my wife to use, but I'm definitely curious about trying the rest in the line now. My only complaint is that i wish it were packaged a bit differently. I like to build lather mostly in the bowl, but it's hard to do that given the size of the container. I'd rather see them package it in a slightly larger container with the same size soap or just package the soap by itself. But for a traveler or sportsman wanting to shave at the gym this might be the perfect format.

Excellent. My first Proraso product...
24 November 2016

I must say, this shave soap delivered for me very nicely. Very nice and neutral scent. Provided a good lather and slickness, and a very comfortable shave. I straight shave and DE shave and had no problems at all. Loaded my Boar brush, worked both a bowl and face lather and sliced my whiskers without a hitch. Left my face supple and moisturized. My girlfriend liked how it left my face and the scent, now she uses it to shave her legs. She couldn't use any of my other soaps because it left her skin slightly irritated, especially her under arms. But this worked for. She loves it! Yes, I'm ordering a few more. And for the price, it's a no brainer. I'm happy and she's happy. Highly recommend.

Good Stuff! Husband's Favorite

This is the only shaving soap my husband will use on his sensitive skin. It is not irritating or drying. Plus it is long-lasting, making it a much better value than shaving soap in a can.

My everyday soap. Decent lather and pleasant scent - not too strong. I use it with the matching after shave balm. My only negative comment is that the container is too small - when new it is full to the brim and there’s not a lot of space to work up a lather.

Proraso 1st timer
8 November 2020

I've always used soap in a puck form, so I have a lot of shaving mugs. I thought I'd try a tub form, so I ordered a Proraso. 1st time, I grabbed an Italian made brush and a Bolzano razor blade and went to work. No real beating up a lather like with a hard soap, different experience, 2nd and 3rd time settled into the routine. New soap, new brush, same old happiness with a job well done. 40 years of hand lathering and de and straight razoring and I'm glad to add to this old dog's bag of tricks. I still have several unused assorted soap pucks to try but Proraso is now on my short list.
