Posca PC 1MR Paint Marker Apricot

$1.66

(4,224 reviews)

Uni POSCA Paint Markers were introduced to the Japanese market in 1983 by Mitsubishi Pencil Co., an innovative manufacturer that had already expanded well beyond its original business of making wood-cased pencils. Like Mitsubishi's other Uni brand products, POSCA quickly swept into shops, offices, and studios worldwide, thanks to its non-toxic, opaque ink that covers and flows like paint—but eliminates the mess, odor, and inconvenient application of other paint markers. POSCA works on pretty much any surface, from paper to metal, so you can use it for art, craft projects, addressing envelopes, marking your name on your lunch, and quite a bit more. These brightly colored markers are popular with graffiti artists and mixed-media painters, schoolteachers and calligraphers. POSCA paint is permanent on porous surfaces like paper and wood, and removable with Windex from non-porous surfaces like glass and metal. This is the POSCA PC-1MR, featuring an extra fine 0.7 mm round tip in a metal sleeve, offering the precision of a pen with the bold color of POSCA paint. Ideal for writing and labeling, the PC-1MR is a handy marker to keep in your desk drawer. Sold individually—choose your color from the dropdown menu. Also available in a variety of other sizes and shapes. Made in Japan.

Having now tried Molotow one-shot, I’ve moved away from posca. Posca’s pigment doesn’t mix as nicely and I’ve never managed to use them on paper without furring. They’re fine, but there are better alternatives out there.

As versatile as they claim!

Posca has long claimed their pens write on virtually every surface and I was really sceptical of this claim until I used them. Not only do they genuinely draw on most surfaces but the nips are so well made that the drawing itself is very easy and a joy to do. So often we get chalky 'paint pens' that apply very unevenly and go watery very quickly. But Poscas tend to stay opaque until the bitter end. I've started drawing with them on paper too and while some cheaper paper tends to pill, most watercolour or board paper lasts very well, even with 3+ coats of paint. Honestly would never move to another kind of paint pen after using these. And Crafty Arts always offers them at great value.

These are the first Posca's I've bought. I've been hearing great things about these on the Rock Decorating sites I belong to, so thought I'd try them. There are so many different tips to choose from! I knew I didn't want broad tips so had to choose between 1 or 3m. There was an offer on this set so I ordered them 'Blind'. They are very fine, Pin-Tips. Not like Felt-tips. I feel they wil be great for detailing and outlines. I think I may need a few 3m for colouring. Will start saving up!!!!

Great colours & flow.
19 January 2021

These are great pens! Their colours are vivid, the ink flows well & the fine nib is ideal for detailed work. I had tried some Sipa pens before, because they were cheaper, but they have all stopped working even though they were hardly used. Though the Poscas are more costly, they're worth it.

Love Posca
27 November 2022

I've got almost a full set of Poscas and use them all the time. They're wonderful for all kinds of work, especially on unconventional materials like wood or stone. Mostly they're opaque in one or two layers, but the lighter colours tend to be more translucent.

Neat lil' pens.
23 December 2017

I bought these for making logos on fabric (cotton T-shirts mostly). The thin tip makes them very precise. And they work great, but one thing to keep in mind: the paint is quite thin, so it gets absorbed by the fabric (so the initial colour gets dull after it dries, especially on dark fabrics). You can, of course - strengthen your design once dry, adding layers. But don't expect a dimensional, "raised" design to come out of these little pens.

PERFECT!
11 January 2022

I was looking for gold and silver pens to use on black watercolor paper. I made holiday cards and wanted to write a message on the back. These are, by far, the BEST metallic pens that I have ever found! I highly recommend them.

I was surprised by just how fine the point is on these markers - Posca markers have been a favourite for my sketches and doodles because of their colour and durability. Now more than ever.

White didn't work and black not fine enough
8 February 2022

First, I have owned paint pens and I know you have to press down the tip many times to get the paint to flow. So I thought other user who said it didn't work, just didn't know that. But the white one, which was shrink wrapped and pickup up in store, would never flow. Barely got a trace to come out after a lot of time trying. The black one worked fine, will be good for lettering and doodles, but it was for a outlining and eyelashes on a face that was about 2.5" high. I still felt that even though it was called Ultra fine, I'd prefer the extra fine permenant markers instead. If you work on a bigger scale than mine, then you will probably really like the ones that actually work.

I first used these for shrinking plastic art. Worked great! I then used them for students to add to an exterior mural. Again worked great!
