I can't say enough good things about this game, it's an amazing new take on Pokemon and has a very different theme, gameplay and story than previous games in the series. I've been playing Pokemon since the first games came out and this is probably my favorite game in the series. The battles are very challenging and have new mechanics. The story is based on the Sinnoh region from Diamond and Pearl, but set in the past when the settelers first came to the land. Wild Pokemon will attack you as you travel through the region, the world is huge and wide open for exploration. The characters and story is great and in my opinion the best story since Pokemon Black/White and Black 2/White 2 came out. I highly reccomend this game, you'll enjoy it!

I’m enjoying the game very much though it feels slightly repetitive in nature, mostly because the missions are very similar. There isn’t much that changes here. Also the NPC character designs are pretty silly and they tend to come off very annoying. I think the series would benefit from taking a more intelligent approach to character interactions. I wish I could leave the environmental music on and remove the battle music, or at least not have them tied together. The background music is great and some times very relaxing then you get involved in a battle and suddenly the relaxing music changes and now its loud battle music. So you can’t separate the volume for each since they are both tied to background music setting. The graphics aren’t bad but GameFreak really ... I preordered this game and it was soo worth it. It took me about 50hrs to beat the main campaign and I haven't even started the post game though I hear its lengthy. There is just so much replayability value to it. You could be running around completing you Pokedex and something would crop up. I loved exploring the different areas, there was just so much to discover in each one. In terms of graphics, not the best. Sometimes the shadows and lighting would be a bit iffy and if a pokemon trys to eat near a ledge it would get stuck and get jumpy and rock hit boxes are a bit too big but other than that I've never had any problems. It was a wonderful game, Catching was very fun, I loved how you could catch the balls from a distance(Not the heavy balls) and battle the wild Pokemon, and use different kind of balls. Battling was pretty epic and fun as well, The Pokemon can dodge your moves, Which was sometimes great and not to good. But battling wild Pokemon makes a it a better chance you catch the Pokemon. Riding on the 5 ridable Pokemon was really fun. I especially loved the Hisuian Braviary, That you can soar through the skies. This game is full of adventure with a lot of challenges, Definitely recommend it!
This game felt like a hybrid of a Pokémon game crossed with breath of the wild (Zelda). It's open world and you can stumble across Pokémon which was really exciting. It's definitely not your traditional Pokemon game, but it was so exciting to come across a new storyline, exploring an open world map. You can also physically throw your pokeball at the Pokemon after stealthily approaching them, it was so much fun!! Could not stress that this is the best Pokemon game I've played (& I've played all of them!)
