When that happened, I got one with a medium nib, having not loved previous Platinum fine nibs.In the mean time, I got very into Sailor pens and became a feedback snob. The Platinum converter is simply the best converter out there, easy to maintain and works flawlessly every time.And of course, as a retractable, and is so much more convenient.It has its quirks. It has that odd clip set up, the enormous knock at the back, and disassembly is a little involved.But It’s become my daily workhorse. I was ready to be disappointed, and was instead completely captured. This is the retractable to beat. My VP has gone into rest mode.

I have been using this pen for nearly a month now and have nothing but praises for it. Buttery smooth nib and complimentary polished aesthetics. I recommend the Prism Crystal variant because you can see the mechanics and inner-workings of the pen clearly so you can really appreciate the engineering behind it. Not to many fountain pens like these. The only two things to watch out for are not filling it too much because it tends to burp when you retract it too fast when it is too full, so leave a small bubble in the converter. The other thing to consider is that the ink can wane (not dry) when writing quickly, maybe it has to do with the feed. I would recommend boutique inks in this pen because they tend to go down wetter.

I write with F, EF I have one in each now ( one from Goulet ( green) i bought last fall- and another i bought from another company). I like to fill out small forms and use for 'tiny writing'. This pen is amazing. The flow with EF/F are dependent and wet, the line is precise, no skipping.One tiny tiny thing.. these are hard to find!I waited for more than a month to purchase get my second one. Sadly then it was defective one- (one post on the inner slot was made wrong)Sadly Goulet pens failed me.Covid was really spiking in my county and i didnt want to go into a postoffice. I am traumatized about the ' can't be bothered' rough customer service.

I see a lot of comments about the superiority of Pilot's VP. I'm not here to argue but a most important part of any pen is its nib and I like this one a lot. I use both sides - i.e. if the paper is poorer quality, I use the nib's inner side - both write really well and the latter even has a touch of an italic nib. For me this is a great pen.
I loved this pen until I tried to refill it. I’m fairly experienced with fountain pens and had no problems filling this pen a few times. There are several twist and push steps to get to the cartridge. This time things fell out and I couldn’t get it back right. Even managed to bend The main spring
For the past weeks I have been using this pen exclusively, no other pen. Smooth writer. Wet. I like this pen. I have noticed after maybe half hour that the pen seems to pick up fibers from the paper. In that circumstance, fibers and dried ink on the top side of the nib. Note that the paper is not friendly (checks, payment voucher, ledger), So, We shall see if this only problem makes me hate the pen. And, I have also used this pen on FP friendly paper - Note pads and appointment booklet - Here the pen is a marvel. I have collected many VP's - I'm a fanatic for push-button fountain pens. (Not a fan of the Lamy retractable pen - no button).
I really like the design, but the medium one I received had frustrating hard starts and skips with fast writing. I should have taken advantage of Goulet's excellent service and sent it back; however, it initially looked like the front of the tines were too tight, so I used their brass shim. Then maybe it was the baby's bottom, so I polished that out (too late to send it back now). So after more aggressive adjustment I've got it working with a really wet ink, but it still needs an occasional first stroke warm up to get going. (I like the pen design so well I really kept working with it.) Lesson learned. I love this fountain pen with reservations. It is a little over priced for the issues i experienced. It writes well. I use it daily. If it is not in use, then the nib will dry out within two days but the ink in the cartridge remains fluid. I just moisten the nib and it returns to a normal ink flow with minimal effort. However, it is my second one of the same kind in a different color. I experienced a trial and error period with the first one. Sadly, the nib housing kept popping off. I took a chance and Gorilla glued it. The nib housing no longer pops off. I now have the perfect push button fountain pen. I do recommend it for daily use.
The Curidas is my first retractable fountain pen and I must say that I am absolutely in love with it. The nib glides smoothly across the paper and the weight of the pen is so perfect it rests comfortably in your hand. My hands are fairly small so the clip doesn't necessarily effect my writing but I did remove it for esthetic purposes. Filling the pen or replacing the ink cartridge can be a bit difficult so I would say this pen is for a more experienced user. Nonetheless, once you do it a couple times the process does get easier (you have to take the pen almost completely apart). Overall, I've had a fantastic experience!

This combines the best of both worlds, although it still does have some of the drawbacks of retractables. I got the fine nib, and it is very fine indeed, but writes quite smoothly. It's a bit of a pain to refill, you more or less have to deconstruct the pen in order to change the cartridge or refill the converter, but that's about standard to retractables, and the converter's not small, so it lasts a while. I like that Platinum included a means to remove the clip, but even without that, my fingers still get a little annoyed by all the ridges and nobs near the nib. Still, it's not too bad, so I'll get over it.
