Never had a modeling amp and was a bit hesitant to jump in. I have always been a Marshall fan, which was another reason I was reluctant on making the purchase. As it turns out, I couldn't be happier! Great sounds, a ton of effects. A couple helpful suggestions - don't expect the preprogrammed sounds to be to your liking without doing some adjusting. You can always save your settings once you have it to your liking. TheI have found that I get the best sound by getting the amp off the floor and tilting it so it projects the sound toward your ears.- and move away from the amp 10 feet or so if possible. It is a very loud amp. I haven't had to turn the volume past 2 for bedroom use. You could easily gig with this amp. Awesome metal and hard rock tones - love it!

Great modeling amp for the money. I like the 12 stompbox effects. The onboard looper is superior to others in this price range. This unit is lightweight and very portable. This Vypyr X1 has a high quality 8 inch heavy duty speaker. I would recommend to anyone to check out the Vypyr X1 and see all the loaded features on this amp.
I have bought and sold several amps over the past few years, and I think this one's the keeper. It reminds me a bit of the katana 50 in that it has lots of features - but it is far easier to figure out how to use. I wish it had a slightly smaller footprint, for portability's sake, but the sound and usability make up for it. I also wish manufacturers would provide more useful documentation, but there are lots of helpful videos on the web.From clean, to crunch, to filthy - and some Fender Vibratone if you like - this amp can do just about anything.
Great for metal and just about anything else honestly .but no effects loop or similar options if your looking for versatility
It is simple to use, but has all the great features and sound. I've owned several modeling amps and Peavey got this right. The analog distortion I think makes a big difference. Most digital modeling amps sound whiney on the high end this is just right.
I work at a guitar store so we recently got these amps in, I have to say that it genuinely shocked me? For the price and for what you get, it's pretty darn goodI'm really picky with my amps, so much so that I've only had one amp my whole 5+ years of playing and seeiing this new amp really, made me wanna get one, don't think of it as a legit replacer to a real 6405 or a XXX Head and Cab, think of it as a beginner amp, something to get started one, yes it has a lot of knobs and buttons that may seem intimidating, but take some time to get to know the little beast? Oh my God this thing is awesome easy to use love the sounds that come out of it it's like having a good multi process foot pedal built-in and it's designed to take a base acoustic and a regular guitar out of five stars I could just want a six any musician would fall in love with the same once they heard it clear crisp sounds love it absolutely just love it highly recommended for any musician
Extremely pleased with this amp. It has a lot of sound possibilities and the ability to tweak in about any sound you want.
