I have the Black 45L travel and the Ash 6L Sling. I was eyeing the Bone backpack because I wanted a small backpack that barely fits the 14 MacBook Pro and some other stuff as a personal item on flights. The 6L sling was nice for a camera with 3 prime lenses and the Ash color doesnt get dirty but the Bone color scheme is so classy good looking and I wanted to maximize the personal item use. Also the sling wasnt big enough to carry the travel tripod and other video/photo items. The 15L allows me to put a DJI RS 3 Mini gimbal in the top pocket with the stand disconnected, camera with lens in middle and 2 prime lenses on other side of middle, case with filters and a DJI Mic in bottom smaller slot. Also I can use this bag as a day bag and put a cap in the top pocket ... MoreI have the Black 45L travel and the Ash 6L Sling. Im not into backpacks but sometimes it's nice to take items with me and after using the 45L travel in French and Italian rains during travel, I was assured that the bags are weatherproof. For travel, my intention is to use the 45L as a main carry on and to put a SLIDE on the 15L backpack and shoulder carry it. Once I check into a hotel, ill use the 15L as a day backpackI wanted a practical minimalist backpack for tech and travel that is weatherproof and that also looks good and the BONE color is just so good looking. It looks like a luxury brand backpack. Yea yea I heard it can get dirty and you can use a magic eraser to clean it but thats ok. If you want a bag that doesnt get dirty, get the ASH color. It looks kinda dull and doesnt stand out if you want to avoid thieves but im a guy and I almost love this BONE. I keep looking at it as it sits on the floor.

This bag is for a small setup. I don't understand negative reviews complaining about it being too small or a tight fit. It's supposed to be small! There are larger options if you need more space. This holds everything I need for a day out with my gear. I can carry the X-T4 with 50-140 f/2.8 mounted, 23 f/1.4, 56 f/1.2, 16-55 f/2.8 and more! I don't normally carry that much, but I can if I want to. If I don't completely stuff the main compartment I can easily carry my 13" M1 MacBook Air and 11" iPad Pro. I usually only carry one or the other, but they do both fit. The side pockets expand easily and are very secure. The zippers are incredibly smooth and the 270 4-way zippers are genius. I'm not sure why anyone would say they feel like stuff will fall out. I also find ... MoreThis bag is for a small setup. Overall, I am very pleased with this bag!

This is a great looking backpack made with premium materials. I use it as my daily carry bag when commuting to work in NYC. I carry my Nikon D500 (no battery pack) with a Sigma 17-50mm at the bottom of the bag plus my 12.9 inch iPad Pro in the laptop pouch. Overall, I like this backpack and am happy I purchased it. My two issues with it are:1) As a 210 pound 6'3 guy, I find the backpack straps a bit short. As a result my shoulders tend to push them aside requiring regular adjustment as a I walk. In addition, the chest strap is not usable as even in it's lowest position it sits too close to my neck.2) While the Peak Design FlexFold dividers and innovative, I'm not sure they're as protective and versatile as more traditional dividers can be.

I have the ash color which looks great but gets dirty easier than other colors. The bag opens up completely so it's easy to configure and can repurpose for non camera usage. Its light and strong material make it easy to carry and feel safe with my gear. It's 15L but enough to hold two camera with mid size lens plus one extra lens and misc. accessories or one large camera with multiple lenses. The side pocket is tight, I use one to hold PD travel tripod and the other for small water bottle. The only thing I wish for is the magnetic shoulder belt like the other PD backpack.
Should you buy this bag?1. Do you want a SMALL bag? The bag is small, designed for one DSLR body and one lens, maybe two. Don't plan on stuffing your big zoom and your wide angle and some batteries and a few cards and the kitchen sink in this bag. If you have a larger rig and longer lenses, you need the 20L bag. If you have a bigger laptop, you need the 20L bag.2. This bag is ideal for mirrorless camera folks. I am a Fuji fan, and the bag's perfect for my X series bodies and those tiny Fujicron lenses. And the exterior side pockets with their attachment straps hold my aluminum tripod that folds down to twelve inches. The computer pocket is all you need for an iPad.3. It helps that I'm 5'8. It's the right length for my back. I don't want to walk around looking like I am headed off for some National Geographic exploration. If your taller, consider the 20L bag.Again, if your load is limited or your gear smaller, you might really like this bag, depending on your size. The quality of the bag is superb. I have owned LowePro and Domke bags, with the Domke 700-F3B F-3XB as my favorite bag for years. This backpack is the top choice now.
I love love love this backpack. It's attractive but not grabbing attention. I love the personalization and the quality. It's amazing! I did get the smaller one because I'm short and petite. I did knock a star because I think it would be nicer if the side pockets could be a little more stretchy or expandable. That's being a little picky though. I also wish the hip belt fit with this. They say it technically can, but doesn't quite fit as well as the 20L, and shouldn't necessarily be needed due to the smaller loads this backpack would carry compared, but I'm a smaller person and if I'm hiking all day I think the hip belt would be beneficial if I'm carrying my tripod, water, etc...
This is not a bad backpack overall if you're not a photographer. It's a very nice looking, high quality backpack. But since this is supposed to be a photography backpack I have to deduct some stars. The main problem is that it comes with only two dividers. Only about two thirds of the inside are covered with the Velcro material that these dividers attach to. This excludes the whole top part of the backpack. Which means that one divider has to be used just to close off that section of the backpack. Otherwise your camera gear will flop around inside. That leaves only one divider which is simply just not enough. Especially since the bottom of the bag feels very thin and could use a bit more padding. The bag might be usable if more dividers can be purchased separa ... MoreThis is not a bad backpack overall if you're not a photographer. It's a very nice looking, high quality backpack. This is a great backpack. The functionality delivers as promised. It takes some fiddling (but as photographer gear heads, isn’t that what we all want anyway?), but it absolutely works. Exceptionally versatile. I love having space for non photo gear, too.In the 15L, I can pack and R5, 28-70 f/2, and three primes. There’s still room left for plenty of other gear in the non camera portion, a smaller tripod, and a water bottle. If oriented vertically, you can pack a big telephoto zoom and a prime. Be careful, it’s easy to over pack it! It can get heavy or over stuffed. The side access works great. Changing lenses requires some foresight to leave some “swap space.†Interestingly, I found the PD clip very uncomfortable on the shoulder strap, but I guess with ... MoreThis is a great backpack. Not a deal breaker IMHO.The build quality seems exceptional to me. I’ve worn it for several medium-length walks and it’s been perfect for a photo stroll. If packed right, it should be no problem for all day use.
This backpack is incredibly well designed; you can tell they really thought about every detail. I haven't used it for an extended period of time yet so I can't speak to its durability but it looks like very high quality and Peak Design's customer service is excellent. As it is the case with all backpacks, it all depends on your needs. I think if you are a professional photographer going on a big shoot, this probably won't suffice. If you don't do any photography at all and just want an everyday carry... I'd go for something else, personally. For me, I'm a hobbyist photographer carrying two cameras when I'm traveling but the rest of the time I use my backpack for my laptop and books. Peak Design makes gear for camera toting crowd. But it turns out their bags are also good for general users too. What makes this bag great is the dividers it comes with. With the dividers inside to reinforce the structure, it maintains its shape well.Back shoulder straps attach to an anchor that allow the strap to pivot. They have a little tab on the buckle you can pull on that allow faster adjustments. There is one strap inside the side pcoket that has a Peak Design Anchor Link. You can attach keys or some other gadget and it's very secure but very fast to quick release. All in all, this bag has a lot of unique features that make it stand out against a lot of other high end bags. It's expensive, but you get a lot of innovation for your money. I like the style.... it doesn't look like a hiking bag, it's got a simple minimal sleek urban style. All of the materials and hardware feels top rate.Only downside is that it's very expensive but Altitude Sports offered it at a great price during one of their sales.
