I waited a full season to write a review to make sure they would hold up and they do not disappoint. I spent many years wearing my old military goretex and finally decided to upgrade. I just got sick of wearing camo all of the time. I am hard on my gear and do not take gear reviews lightly. These will likely last just as long as my old military issued ones. These are great in the winter for keeping snow out of your boots. I still use a leg gaiter because I am just used to it, but if you have a high boot you probably don't need gaiters with this pant. Gortex pants with belt loops and pockets, awesome!I have the older generation but they’re very similar. I was worried about their durability until I fell on sharp rocks and went caving with them, still still virtually look brand new. They’re the best pair of pants I’ve even owned. You can with them without layers comfortably. Wear them in the shower to wash dirt and mud off and they’re still dry on the inside. Skiing, hiking, rainstorms, anything.Perfect fit, no one makes a better goretex pant

My old Patagonia full-zip shell pants from the early 00's finally died. These are the successor and I expect they will last just as long.The old ones only had a rear pocket, I prefer the two hip pockets on these Triolet pants. These pants have internal gaiters, which will add another layer of protection, but I'm not sure they are necessary, adding extra weight and complexity. (I rarely had trouble with snow entering my boots with my previous pants, instead of gaiters they had elastic in the cuff that cinched tightly around the boot top.)Full-zip shells for spring backcountry skiing and ski mountaineering give you the option to layer up or down your legs without even having to remove your skis, let alone your boots. I tried on a Medium and Large but chose the Large. The medium fit but was snug. I like to have room to layer underneath so went Large. They look a little baggy but are also less restrictive for long strides in the skin track or high stepping the boot pack.
I purchased these ski pants to replace my 10+ year old Patagonia Guide Pant. Nothing wrong with Guide Pant, really. Just wanted a fresher look. The Triolets replacements have all the same key features as the Guide Pant (full side zip, zippered front pockets, built-in gaiters, 3-layer Gortex). The Triolets also have belt loops (to replace suspenders on Guide Pant), which I prefer. Very happy with fit, finish of the size L for 61, 190 lb frame. One noticeable drawback: the Triolets are missing the extra thin insulation layer of the Guide Pant, making them a bit colder on the mountain, and on ski lift chair. Nothing a thicker base layer cant solve.
I have a number of other goretex pants, these are the best by far. I really want to keep these, but the length of the leg is too short (6ft2 74kg). If I lift me knee high, then the ankles ride up and the snow gaiters pop off. I don't know if large would be longer, but the waist is exactly right for me with the medium. If there was a med long, I would buy for sure

With the 3L Gore-Tex and the taped zipper that goes all the way down the sides, this is an amazing pant that works well for resort or backcountry skiing/riding. These are some of the most affordable 3L Gore-Tex pants out there! Further, you know Patagonia stands behind their products and have some of the best ethics and quality. There are some other great quality products out there from other brands, but they do not have the ethics/standards that Patagonia holds for all of their facilities create these products. Stand behind more than your gear! If anyone has had ACL surgery (you skiers have) and have to wear a knee brace for skiing, these pants are essential. I'm able to take my brace on an off without having to exit the pants. I got the 2023 version of these pants to have an extra pair around for when I finally destroy the old pair. The new pair fits the same in the waist and is roomier in the thighs. The only negative that I have with the new design is that the old integration loops and belt loops are different that they no longer fit my suspenders that I wear with them. I have been a fan of you folks for decades now... The past couple of pants from Patagonia have had zippered fly that is way too short. I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this issue, but for the past five years or so, each pair I get I have to take to a local tailor and have the zipper extended about 1 1/2" down. Otherwise I need to drop trousers to relieve myself as I can't get it out... Sorry for the TMI details. :) THANKS
