I have been buying these vests for the past eight years (we especially love them in brighter colors which adds fun and visibility- unfortunately seeing less of these shades offered over the past few years). They are warm without being bulky, and they hold up. We pass ours along to happy recipients after all three of our boys have worn them. One thing I noticed about the latest design is that they got rid of the hanging loop, so we can't securely hang up this vest like the others on our coat rack. It slips off instantly without the loop. Please bring it back!

I'm a petite trim woman and I often buy children's clothing size 10-12 from other companies.I purchased a children's medium expecting it to fit and ended up up sizing twice to an extra extra large. The vest itself is warm and lovely, and in our winter climate I wear it around the house. I would recommend it to others but watch out for the sizing. This isn't made for someone with curves and hips.

I am so disappointed! I have bought these vests for all my kids over and over and we have loved them until the two I bought recently. They do not have loops to hang them on a coat rack! Its absolutely a nightmare trying to keep them from falling off the coat racks. Unless I hear that they have started to install the loops again I will be looking elsewhere for my kids outerwear.

Beautiful Patagonia, real goose down fleece, perfect for a boy who keeps peeling off his layers, a vest will serve himBetter instead. Good zippers, great style, not too puffy, lightweight but WARM!
I love Patagonia quality and responsible manufacturing. However, I hate that you discriminate short, not skinny, people. Every time I try puffed Down Sweater ($229) at REI, I look like I am trying on a Beettle o Cockroach custome. You are not alone, most manufacturers' jackets are too big for us (the segment of the population that look like George Constanza from Seinfeld).
We get one of these every year/every other year for our kids. They are a great extra layer over a fleece or hoodie. We find they keep the kids warm to as low as 5degrees C (40F)with a fleece, and if you add gloves and a hat they are comfortable a degree or two cooler. Make sure you use a down specific wash, but using that they wash well, and they last. We’ve handed everyone we’ve bought down to a younger cousin or friend. They do fit a bit big, so fit over a fleece nicely, and most have lasted us 2 years before growing out to the point they can wear them. We will keep getting these as a staple on our winter wardrobes. (We live in southern Canada)
Who chose these awful colors for a kid's vest? At least offer *some* bright colors for those of us who don't live in NYC or who otherwise would rather not dress our kids in the drabbest colors on the planet. (This from a family who loves your clothes, including the kid's vest we were hoping to replace.)
What is with the sizing. Have had many patagonia vests over the years. I am a small women and i always wear xxl kid but this iteration doesnt cover the shoulders enough and its tight in the chest and too long. Why is everything too long these days ???? if your going for a retro look make the vest end at the top of your jeans and a boxier shape so there's more room for pants!!! This is a return and can't buy the women's version because it is even worse. No thanks.
I bought this on sale and it’s absolutely lovely! I generally wear a women’s XS or S and the kid’s XL fit just great.Can’t wait for cooler weather!
