I'd like to say that I love Oxbow items for my Guinea Pigs and buying hay is ALWAYS hit or miss, no matter where you buy.I buy fresh Orchard hay from a farm and wanted to add this Botanical Hay to what I feed my pigs every day. This hay was dry and has been in the bag for a while, however, my pigs went for it and especially loved the hay tips, and there were plenty of them.I judge by what THEY like, and they like most of it but left the dry Timothy stalks behind.

In an effort to keep my rabbits happy, I top there everyday hay with this botanical hay. I also use different types of hay in the litterbox in the livingroom where the bunnies play during the day. I also fill a hay bag with a different type of hay to keep them happy. The botanical is their favorite!

Bought a few bags of Botanical Hay on Nov 21, 2022 and it was more brown and like Meadow/soft grass hay, not Timothy hay. Disappointing as my rabbits normally love this kind. But the last few bags, they just push around in their litter box. It's gotten so soft that I use it on the bottom of the litter box now. Hopefully the quality will be better soon... The positive...it still smells pretty. :-/

This is the only hay my rabbit is clearly excited about. It’s made with several different kinds of plants, including some aromatic flowers, so it’s got to be tastier and more interesting than having just one kind of grass all the time. I’m really glad Oxbow makes this, and wish there were another version, for variety.
My foster guinea is special and will neglect hay to the point that she will not eat it if you give her veggies. It was recommended that I try different hay (in addition to reducing the amount of veggies I give her) and thank goodness she likes this. It also has a fragrant smell, which I personally love. It is on the softer side as far as hay goes and she prefers this to the oat hay that came in the 2 pack we tried out. Will be getting more for her.
I purchased this in the fall thinking that it would partly compensate for the greens shortage. While the package has a strong aroma, that is for the human buyer. Rabbits are not interested. The hay is so mature that my rabbit had no interest in it either. In the spring I dried a lot of dandelion and white clover and have been feeding that as a treat. That is what they really like.
For some reason our bunny is not at all interested in this bag of hay. Not sure why. I have tried this brand before but she refuses to eat it. I learned something. Bunnies can be finicky with their food. Love Chewy.
Usually I love Oxbow products for my chinchilla is 10 years old and healthy while I usually feed her is Oxbow I bought the Botanical hay which is usually really nice and smells so good but this particular package was all hard, pale yellow stalks and no green . My chinchilla hates the hard stalks so she just digs them out and throws them away so it was basically a complete waste of money on this whole bag she won't eat any of it I would only recommend it if this was corrected normally it's really good but this bag was very poor quality
I grabbed this because it's really cheap and I wanted to use it as filler for their digging boxes. my rabbits don't eat oxbow hay, but they do like to dig for treats so I figured this would be great, but I don't see a single bit of flowers or herbs in this bag? I didn't think it would be like loaded up or anything but I don't see any at all? so now I just have a bag of hay my bunnies won't eat.
oxbow botanical health hay is our rabbits favorite hay to eat. he enjoys it every time that we feed it to him. it makes his coat shiny and it provides him extra energy and keeps him healthy and full of energy. I recommend it for rabbits and guinea pigs and other small rodents. it's a product that we will continue to purchase.
