Osprey Fairview 40 Zircon Red

For a women’s specific pack, the shoulder straps are set super wide, and they’re very stiff so they dig into my shoulders. I wore it for 5 mins trying it on and have to return it. I have the Osprey fairpoint 55L from 2013, but this was back before I knew anything about backpack fits, and the torso length is too long for me and digs into my lower back and hips. Other than that I love it. I was hoping to upgrade just to switch to a better fit my wow this model is such a miss in all ways!I already mentioned the awful shoulder straps shape and lack of comfort. The day pack does not zipper on like the old models did, it’s just held on by the compression straps. I tried it on for 5 mins and it was covered in lint/fur. The day pack does not zipper on like the old models did, it’s just held on by the compression straps. I tried it on for 5 mins and it was covered in lint/fur. Granted, I have a cat, but the material of the back attracts fur/point. The zippered protective back panel used to have Velcro to keep it stuffed, but now there’s nothing to hold it in it’s stuff pocket, which opens to the bottom making it easy to slip out. The day pack opening is so small, compared to bc a regular 1/2 zip backpack, this is like a 1/4 zip. Makes it difficult to see inside and easily get things from the bottom of the bag. I attached a picture of the shoulder strap width. I have pretty broad shoulders and this is still too wide for me. I compared it to my Gregory daypack and the Osprey fairpoint from 2013 (which isn’t women’s specific) and this pack’s straps are wider than both

I have to say, I'm not fond of this bag. As a 5’4” 125 lb female who was gifted it for travel use, I found it bulky and awkward. And, maybe this isn't a problem for everyone, but it is for me; it looks dorky on. I will be returning it.The framing is too rigid for it to tuck away easily. You can't hide it under a restaurant seat or something if you stop on your way to/from the airport or train. It's always just there next to you, bulky and in the way. Also, I know that it is likely designed to fit this way for the best ergonomic support and less shoulder strain, but the top of the pack comes halfway up the back of my head. I spent time adjusting it, but to wear it “properly,” this is how it sits. Even the picture on the website shows how high it goes up if you ... MoreI have to say, I'm not fond of this bag. Not only does that feel awkward and bothersome, especially when sitting down, but I think it also looks unflattering. Also, on a practical note, this trait makes peripheral vision and looking upward awkward.Overall, it could be suitable for some people who don't mind an unattractive, rigid travel backpack companion, making its presence known everywhere. It is durable, has good storage and strap versatility, is well made, and very comfortable regarding muscle strain. However, I am willing to sacrifice a little comfort and ergonomic support for style and subtlety if necessary. If that's not you, it's probably an excellent choice for all the reasons I just listed, and you should get it. If you care about aesthetics, it is worth knowing the things I mentioned earlier. This bag gets excellent reviews on the internet, but nobody has made these points. They are disappointing enough for me not to want to use the bag so I thought people should know.

I did a lot of research regarding different backpacks and purposely waited for this upgraded design to come into stock so it would be cabin compliant for future use. Actually purchased the backpack for a two month interrail trip around Europe with my husband. It did not disappoint. The easy-open main sack along with separately purchased packing cubes was perfect for storing and finding clothes when frequently moving destinations. The daypack was more comfortable attached at the front than clipped to the back (I felt overweighted that way round) and provided plenty of room. The stowaway harness was brilliant for making sure straps and buckles did not get damaged. I found the main pack with the adjustable harness perfectly comfortable once I’d made the right changes ... MoreI did a lot of research regarding different backpacks and purposely waited for this upgraded design to come into stock so it would be cabin compliant for future use. The stowaway harness was brilliant for making sure straps and buckles did not get damaged. I found the main pack with the adjustable harness perfectly comfortable once I’d made the right changes (I’m quite petite and 5ft 4.) The day pack was also comfortable to carry on its own and the adjustable chest strap was great. I’m so pleased with this purchase, it certainly helped make the trip more comfortable! My husband loves his too; just wish I could have had his colour 😂. These backpacks are far superior to anything we ever carried in our youth. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
