NYX Professional Makeup Suede Matte Lip Liner - Orange County

I never understood why people loved lip liners so much, but NOW I completely understand the necessity to have these with you when doing your makeup and having them in your purse. As you can see, I have many shades of both the NYX Slim and Suede lip liners, and I absolutely love them. They're really creamy and pigmented and guides on the lips smoothly when you apply. For $5, these lip liners stay on for quite awhile but it fades away as time goes, for example, after eating, but overall it is a great and affordable lip liner for it's quality despite some of the original shades having a different color change now, which is disappointing.

I have oily, sensitive, light olive skin. I typically use this after I've moisturized my lips (lip balm) and before a lip gloss or lipstick. The shade range is really pretty, and I really like the finish of these, but for some reason, these always make my lips so dry and they end up peeling. I love the initial application— the pencil is smooth and creamy, and glides on really easily— and the look after it's been applied is very suede-matte, but it only lasts a few hours before it starts crumbling in the corners of my lips and my lips start peeling! I have to wipe it off at that point. I think there is something in it that can cause sensitivity.

I've been wearing MAC Stone lipstick for years, but lately I'm finding that the MAC Stone lip pencil, used alone, glides on much like the full lipstick. This morning, I began the application by outlining my mouth with MAC Stripdown pencil, which, for me, is customary when going for a nudie lip. MAC Stripdown is just clean, nonjudgmental–absolutely obvious to skin tone. Next, I overdrew my lips in MAC Chestnut lip pencil, shading inward toward the center. I filled in the center of the mouth with MAC Stone pencil, deliberately shading over the Chestnut pencil for a deeper blended look. Last, I dabbed a dark concealer across my cupid's bow for a nice pout, then over-blended with NYX Moonwalk and MAC Chestnut pencils. A wonderful pouty mouth with NO pilling or residue. Clean.

Love these pencils by far the best lipliners from NYX. I like the intense pigmentation from the shades, it’s creamy texture but matte. The color range could expand as I have most of the shades. Wish they would make more colors with the same formula. They are more on the matte formula side, with intense pigmentation. Not retractable so you have to have a sharpener on hand and a good one for them. Otherwise it’s a affordable and worth the buy lip liner for your collection.

I really wanted to like this liner more, but I'm sure that there are better options. I have this color in sandstorm and it does stay well on my lips. So, it does the job a liner does. However, it has a lot of drag when applying it onto the lips. No glide and does not go on smoothly. The liner is a simple pencil that requires sharpening but it has broken on me multiple times so I have needed to shadpen it fairly often. I think I'm heavy handed with it because of the drag so it is hard for me to avoid. I love NYX as a brand but I am pretty disappointed in this lip liner. I would not recommend purchasing it. But the color options are good and it does work so it gets the 3 stars for that.

I love this lipliner! Super affordable and the color selection is unbeatable! I got the shade Moonwalk because I love mauve/purple colors. It looks so pretty with a light pink shade in the center of the lips. When you first use the pencil it's a little stiff. However, the more you use it it warms up and blends into the lips better.

a bargain star

NYX lip liners are popular for a reason. I have a few, and they perform as well as high-end ones for around five pounds or so. There is also a good range of colours, particularly nude and neutral tones if that's what you're looking for. The formula is very good. It sharpens easily to a nice point and is smooth to apply without being so dry it tugs or so creamy it bleeds or wears off quickly. It sticks around on the lips and helps keep lipstick in place. I would recommend these and will continue to buy them.

a lot was had baby

Simply amazing! Goes on smoothly, stays on through drinks, eating and kissing …hehe… I have very full lips, this was bought with the thought it was a darker brown. Came with a more reddish undertone but baby, it did not disappoint. So natural and inviting!!!! For reference I have multi colored brats dolls lips(slightly darker around lip line with pink inner lip) and my skin is a warm medium brown (reference Tiraji P or Koan from girlfriends)… again this was an accident but but a forever staple. Enjoy

not accurate shade

i bought "cherry skies" which is the darkest red shade i could find. the colour on the end of the pencil is quite dark red but when i apply it, it's practically pink. i have another liner in shade "plum"which is also a darkish red on the pencil but when i apply that, it's very bright pink. i definitely wouldn't buy again without being able to test it out first because they're never the colour i expect. they do last quite well and easy to apply unlike some reviews say but this doesn't matter when it's not the colour you want.
