Nord Piano 5 73 Note Digital Piano

I've been playing piano for over 20 years. I have extensive experience with Yamaha, Kurzweil, Korg, and Roland keyboards. All 88-key versions have playable weighted actions, but Nord's Virtual Hammer Action Technology defeats all other technology, in my opinion.I was a jazz piano major in college, and my Piano 5 brings me to a place of total nostalgia. The action is immaculate, and it feels like I am back in the practice room playing a beautiful Steinway Model S. The acoustic and electric pianos sounds are spot-on authentic. The samples are different from what most contemporary musicians are accustomed to regarding other popular brands. I can most definitely see Nord Keyboards setting a new standard of authenticity and preference among artists, producers, and performers within the current and future music industries.

I've been playing keyboards for church services, weddings, parties, etc. for a number of years now since I was a teen. As a poor, young adult, I had to use cheap Kurzweil and M-Audio stage pianos or whatever else churches had for a musical guest to use. I always wished I had a Nord keyboard of my own to cover all the bases that I needed like pianos, strings, pads, and easy editing of affects and layering. Just a couple months ago my wish finally came true. My Nord Piano 5 finally arrived! And my gosh was it worth the wait! I'll be a Nord user for life! There are loads of pianos, electric pianos, strings, synth sounds, pads, and it doesn't get any easier to layer them, add effects per layer, then save it as a program. Perfect for setting up a set list for live use! ... MoreI've been playing keyboards for church services, weddings, parties, etc. for a number of years now since I was a teen. Perfect for setting up a set list for live use! The White Grand, and Royal Grand 3D, which are the two latest pianos from Nord are clearly the best sounding pianos on this instrument, but the remaining piano models can also be very useful if you're looking for a different sound. I'm loving the variety! For electric pianos, you would probably be using the Nefertiti and Sparkletop models for Rhodes use. The two Wurlitzer models are very useable as well. If you're looking an ultra high-end stage piano that's very easy to use, then look no further! I'm proud to be a Nord user!

Best Nord Piano yet!

I could not find one locally to try out, so I ordered it hoping it would meet my specifications! The keybed feels like playing a real acoustic piano. This is a great Nord and the 73 keys makes it lighter weight and perfect for gigging.I have no complaints about this one! I love it!I use my new Nord Piano 5 for practicing piano tunes and will use it for playing gigs.

Great board! Musicians Friend did not disappoint

A lot more organ patches than I expected! Much more than Piano going on here!!

Nord Nails It Again.

I use this board for home enjoyment and worship music. At church it replaces a well-used Korg Triton that our worship team had been using for years. The Korg is, of course, a classic, but it's piano sounds are just a bit out-of-date. Team members and sound guys are all impressed with the acoustic pianos on this board.I like the keyboard action vs. the very light action on my soon-to-depart Nord Piano 2. And I feel that a wide dynamic range is far easier to achieve with this updated keybed. The huge increase in memory adds significant capability compared to the NP 2. Also the layering and split possibilities provide many new sound options all of which fall quickly to hand.Last, one failing with the NP 2 was what would happen on stage when you had to switch to the ... MoreI use this board for home enjoyment and worship music. Silence. This board conveniently holds the last chord or note (with the sustain pedal down) as you make your move to the next program. Very nice feature.

Nord Piano 5 73 Stage Piano

The Nord Piano 5 73 Stage Piano is responsive and allows a good range of dynamics. It is fairly easy to set up and play. The distinctive piano sounds are very attractive and it is extremely enjoyable to play. It has a variety of powerful synth sounds. The touch is more like a Fender Rhodes than a traditional upright piano. It can be easily used as a midi controller and receives signals to allow play along. The layering, split keyboard and crossfade options are useful and there is the potential to create your own samples. The keyboard is relatively portable although the dials seem rather fragile and attaching the Nord keyboard stand requires the keyboard to be placed at an awkward angle. The connections to the input sockets are quite tight and require some force. ... MoreThe Nord Piano 5 73 Stage Piano is responsive and allows a good range of dynamics. Relative Expensive but Worth It

I wanted a portable hammer action keyboard and most 88 key boards were too heavy for me to conveniently transport, which is why I looked towards 73 key boards. I had a CP73 previously but its key action caused strain on the tendons of my hands for some reason. The Nord on the other hand is a board that I can play for hours without strain and the acoustic piano samples are also much more detailed. The only downside of the Nord is its relatively high price, but it's worth it as you are paying for the high quality in my opinion. The empty space on the top board is a plus as well, as you can place effects pedals or mixers there.

Review of Nord Piano 5 88 Key Stage Piano

They are very helpful, they were at the end of the phone when I needed them.

So far so good

Keyboard purchased for Church. Much more functionality than previous keyboard which will take time to understand how to use. This keyboard has no speakers of its own so need sound system or amp or headphones. This is no problem for us.It has lots of settings and effects but using the stored programs (300 supplied) makes this easy.

bought the nord 5 dont really like it

I hear that Nord is supposed to be the best. I bought this one and found out a couple of things. In my opinion, they are very difficult to use. Unlike my Roland, there are NO sliders to control individual zones. They come with an A and B side to both the piano bank and A and B sides to the synth section. There are 2 choices for piano and 2 for synth sounds. They are controlled by a master volume knob that controls only 1 of the two sides. If you need to change the other side, then you have to select the opposite side, adjust the volume of the 2nd side, then hope you get a decent mix all in REAL TIME while you're playing. Much too cumbersome for me. Also, the piano sounds are very "Boxy" to me. Not pleasant. Granted if you want to spend a good amount of time eq ing ... MoreI hear that Nord is supposed to be the best. I wouldn't buy another one. That's for sure. I'll take my easy to adjust Roland any day.
