It' s more expressive, restrictive, and the enemies are crazy strong in Lorule, especially when you first get there.Along with the changed layout, the new trick in this version is changing from overhead 3D on a 2D battle plane, to merging with walls with Link appearing 2D and maneuvering around 3D puzzles. The transition is seamless and you get used to working this system. As such, it's opened up a whole new slew of different puzzles not like ones found in Spirit Tracks, Wind Waker, Link's Awakening, etc.The one critique I have with this title is that changing items is a pain. There's some system that an NPC tells you about, but it's too convoluted. Instead, I just kept opening items and picking them from the normal menu. This requires the stylus, while battling and moving requires button presses, so you'll be busy using the touchscreen while playing.I love the Flame Rod and Tornado Rod! The Fire Rod sends a column of fire on the ground hitting enemies multiple times, melting nearly all ice enemies, dealing big damage, and the Tornado Rod is the best Bro Rod in Zelda. It stuns all enemies around Link trying to mob him for ~3 seconds while he avoids damage, and when its upgraded it has an even greater radius and deals more damage. Don't under estimate these two items, they are your bread and butter over the classic bow and sword. Nearly all weapons in the game have a cool down over the classic units. So you can use the bow infinitely without arrows, but you can only fire it so many times before you have to wait. A big improvement in my opinion.All in all, this is THE Zelda to own if you never played A Link to the Past on the SNES or Virtual Console. Even if you have, it's still a wonderful return to a familiar setting with something new. A must have Zelda entry for any fan.

I had already played through this game once before and had sold it online afterwards, but when it dropped to $20, I decided that it deserved to be in my collection, so I picked it up once again. It really is one of the best Zelda games out there, unless you aren't a fan of the overhead style, ala Link's Awakening. Speaking of which, I'd recommend this one over Link's Awakening, maybe even over A Link to the Past, which this release is very much inspired by. But this game has a bit more nuance to its gameplay. I also think it's cool that the way you approach dungeons is more open ended. Not a revolution on the Zelda formula that Breath of the Wild was, but I appreciated the fact that it tried some new things.

My game arrived as advertised in "good condition" both cosmetically and functionally, with case and "manual".I am loving this installment to the Zelda franchise. It has a similar play and feel as "Link to the Past", but with new mechanics. Everything about this game is memorable. The world, setting, story, characters, style. This game keeps the Legend alive.
A Link Between worlds is unexpectedly the best 2D Zelda. I like lttp but I feel like other zeldas do what it does better, its not my favorite thats all. I loved links awakening, so it was hard to decide. But this is such a masterpiece. Narrative, gameplay, the rental system. I love how Ravio uses the rabbit reference from Lttp cleverly, it feels so natural. I like the idea of renting weapons, even if I just grind rupees and buy them anyway. The mechanics of the rentals, lorule, and painting link are some of the best in the series. A Link Between Worlds is a masterpiece, and the best game on the 3DS, highly recommend!!!
I had bought a 3DS to play what would be my first game on the console. And so, the cartridge shipped already in the game-slot of the 3DS! Very handy, as I didnt buy a boxed copy anyway. The cartridge itself is basically good as new, no problems whatsoever.The 3D effect looks stellar in this game, and besides that the game is a blast! Its quickly becoming a personal favorite in the Zelda games.

Recently, I had bought myself a copy of “The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds” and although, I have not completed it yet, I am really enjoying it. The shipment was also very fast, and the cartridge was functional and clean. My only gripe would be that the case was a bit beat up; nicks in the plastic that holds the cover art, also the cover art was very wrinkled, like it may have had water on it at some point. But other than that, my experience with DKoldies was very positive.

Not everyone should immediately get to play a video game, it should take practice and skill. To this day I am still adept at the legend of Zelda ocarina of time's horseback archery, due to having to practice a very long time. They have taken away the pride of accomplishment. I think if we just keep lavishing these games with top scores for no reason, we're never going to see a good Zelda game again.
I’ve been on a journey to play EVERY Zelda game in the franchise and I ordered from another retailer for a “new” copy but they instead sent me a FAKE GAME that wouldn’t even read in my 3DS. I knew that if I ordered from DKOldies I’d be getting an authentic copy that worked! Thanks DKOldies for helping me on my adventure to complete every Zelda game in the franchise and I look forward to buying more Zelda games from this website again.
