I had a Ninja combined air fryer/toaster oven before this. There were times I wish I could cook two different things without having to turn on my full-size oven and thought this might be the answer. And, well, it kind of is. There are a lot of neat things about this countertop oven, but I think it's limited in order to be compatible with your average household wall outlet. And what I mean about that is, in passing mention, and only a couple times in the manuals, it notes that if you are using both ovens at the same time, cooking times will be increased. To me, that means it has to sacrifice oven temperature in order to be able to power both ovens at the same time, due to the limits of the amount of power it can draw from your wall outlet.Besides that, this oven ...Ā MoreI had a Ninja combined air fryer/toaster oven before this. To me, that means it has to sacrifice oven temperature in order to be able to power both ovens at the same time, due to the limits of the amount of power it can draw from your wall outlet.Besides that, this oven works pretty well, but the difference between all the heating modes in both ovens is unclear. It's also disappointing that the top oven can't air fry either, even though the size of the oven is roughly the size of my old Ninja airfryer/toaster oven.It took some learning on how to operate the two ovens. The first time I started it, I accidentally started cooking in both ovens, and couldn't figure out how to stop just one. (Hint press and hold the button for the oven you want to turn off). Also, since there are so many cooking modes, it's hard to remember which oven has which function, and you can only see all of the options with both ovens if you power both of them on so both control panels light up. If the bottom oven is completely off, you can't see what cooking options are available. That being said, the manual isn't very clear what the difference between Whole Roast, Air Roast, and Convection Bake are. They just give a couple examples of what types of foods you might use with those functions, without making clear what the oven does differently. Same for pizza... it just says it heats a pizza evenly. But, what if I'm heating up a quesadilla, which of those 4 options should I use?The top oven is a lot more clear, and has all your typical options (toast, bake, bagel) and they all work well. The top oven also pre-heats a lot quicker and is a lot quieter, and it's a lot more straightforward and your basic oven. You can open just the top one by pressing on the button and pulling the handle. If you pull the handle without pushing the bottom, whole door opens to give you access to both ovens. The bottom oven is a little strange and I think will take more getting used to. It does air fry very well, and I've been very happy with anything I've fried in it. But again, the other functions are unclear. All the heat just comes from the right side of the oven via the convection fan. (The top oven has heating elements on the top and bottom.) The top oven also takes a lot more time to preheat (though still quicker than a full-size oven. The thermometer and oven sync works really well, so it does help with taking the guesswork out of when something will be finished cooking, and when you should start cooking the companion dish. So, for those reasons, that makes this oven really neat. But some clarity on the cooking modes would make cooking a little less trial and error as you learn this new oven.

My wife and I share cooking duties and Monday through Friday we always have something going on, so we don't have much time to spend on cooking meals. This Ninja Double stacked countertop oven has really made an impact on that issue for us.To begin with, out of the box you can tell that you have bought a quality item. It is nice and sturdy, but not real heavy. It comes with all the accessories you need to get a meal prepared for your family. Toast and waffles in the morning and reheating some lasagna for dinner and baking some cookies at night. The controls on the side are very intuitive, so we didn't have any issues getting our food items just the way we want them. I was really pleasantly surprised how well the oven kept the smells separate. After reheating our lasagna, I was fearful that our cookies would absorb some of the lasagna smell, but that never happened. After the first couple of days, we started to cook full on meals. Our first meal was chicken breasts with asparagus and mashed potatoes. I love that I can put all of these items in at the same time into one appliance and have everything ready and tasting great! The maintenance on this oven is very simply. You take out the sheet pans and the crumb tray and give them a good wash before reusing them again. The following dinner we prepared some salmon with carrots and green peas and the salmon come out with wonderful flavor and the smell did not penetrate the veggies. We can't wait to try out some of the items in the recipe guide and try out some new foods! This Ninja double-stacked countertop oven offers convenience that no other appliance in our kitchen offers. Not only does it cook our food well, it looks really nice in our kitchen. If you are looking to save time on cooking and all have great tasting food coming out of the oven, I highly recommend this Ninja double-stacked countertop oven.

It looks very sophisticated, professional and luxe for a countertop oven. Itās 13.26 inches tall, 18.6 inches wide, and it weighs 31.26 pounds. It feels sturdy and well crafted.Depending on which version of the Ninja DoubleStack XL you have, the countertop oven comes with different accessories. I have the version āDCT650,ā so mine comes with two wire racks, two sheet pans, one crumb tray, one air basket, and a pro cook thermometer. By comparison, the āDCT600ā version comes with a roast tray instead of the thermometer. It is recommended by Ninja to hand wash all the accessories in warm soapy water, then let air dry. This is to keep the finishes on each item from degrading. Ninja offers a variety of accessories on their website should you need to buy more. It is recommended that you only use Ninja approved cooking accessories with the Ninja DoubleStack XL.A big feature of the Ninja DoubleStack XL, as the name implies, is that you can cook multiple meals at once due to being able to use the two ovens independently of each other. Ninja calls it āDualZone technology.ā This allows you to cook different meals but have them finish at the same time as a way of minimizing back-to-back cooking and lessens time in the kitchen. You can cook two meals in different ways but still have them finish at the same time. All you have to do is make sure you keep in mind how much time each meal needs and cook accordingly; start the meal that needs slightly more time first in the bottom oven (chicken wings, beef roast, whole chicken), then add the second meal to the top oven that needs less time (veggies, fries), and let the oven take care of the rest. There is a manual included that explains this in detail, but Ninja also has videos you can watch to better explain the technology as well as shows the DualZone technology in use.PROS: The Ninja DoubleStack XL comes with what they call a āFlex door.ā This is what allows you to access just the toaster oven part of the oven. Itās a cool way to separate the two ovens. This comes in handy when you are cooking in both ovens at the same time and donāt want to disturb whatever is cooking in the bottom oven.Speaking of cooking two things at once, a big pro of this oven is that the smells wonāt crossover. Ninja uses special technology they call āflavorseal technologyā to prevent smells of different types of food from crossing between ovens, so your flavor profiles will stay separate. This means if you want to bake chocolate chip cookies or cinnamon rolls in the top oven while roasting lemon garlic butter chicken in the bottom oven, you can without worrying about your desserts smelling like your garlic chicken.Another pro is how fast the Ninja DoubleStack XL works. It preheats quickly and finishes meals quickly. I also like how I donāt have to think too much to use it. Let me explain: I like my bagels and bread on the darker side, and the toaster function finished my toast in less than 4 minutes (I think itās 3:38 to be more exact). The Ninja DoubleStack XL calculated how much time I needed based on my desired darkness (or shade), so I donāt have to guess how much time I need to toast my bread for it to be perfect or set any cooking times on my own. Once it finishes, it turns the oven off for me. You will hear the fan lingering for a few minutes, but that is it.I like that the Ninja DoubleStack XL comes with a recipe book; specifically, I like that it tells you which oven to cook what type of dish in, what settings to use, and what cooking accessories to use to ensure your meal comes out a success. Itās proper meals too, such as āwhole-roasted BBQ chicken with mac & cheese (the mac & cheese goes in the top, and the chicken gets cooked at the bottom), roasted turkey breast with veggies (the turkey is cooked at the bottom, veggies cook up top), and eggplant parmesan with garlic bread (you probably already guessed that the eggplant parmesan cooks at the bottom and the garlic bread cooks up top). The recipe book gives you a better idea how to properly use the Ninja DoubleStack XL to its full potential, and it makes it seem less overwhelming or less intimidating to cook in.Lastly, at least when using the device in air frying mode, the Ninja DoubleStack XL is only moderately noisy, which is important to me. It cooks much quieter on the toasting mode than it does on the air frying mode. It also doesnāt have that constant ticking sound that most standard toaster ovens have that goes on the entire the device is in use.CONS: This thing is HUGE! Unless you do not have any other countertop kitchen appliances, or you purchase a special portable countertop/island to sit it on to add counter space, I do not recommend this appliance for people that have small kitchens or limited counter space. I live in an old condo that is an open floor plan concept, and I have a small kitchen. This takes up a large chunk of counter space, but I am okay with it since I plan to use this more than my full-size oven. I do not recommend this for someone that only wants an air fryer or that only wants a toaster. The size (and price) wouldnāt justify purchasing this only for making toasts and bagels. I strongly recommend measuring the area you intend to put this before ordering, or maybe going to see this in store first and measuring the item itself and your kitchen space. The Ninja DoubleStack XL is also very, very heavy. I live alone and live in a second-level condo, so I had to push/slide this thing up the stairs. If you are elderly or a single woman like me, you might need help getting this into your kitchen. Even on the box it arrived in, it suggests using two people to carry it. This is another reason I suggest checking this item out in person. Just looking at it online and in videos didnāt help me; I mistakenly thought this oven was closer to a traditional toaster oven size. If youāre like me and have zero concept of measurements and dimensions and are a visual person, please check it out in store. Part of the reason this oven is so large is itās geared towards family meal cooking; itās for large family meals. If youāre single like me and no someone who often cooks for others, you might not need this specific countertop oven. The wire racks and sheet pans are not dishwasher safe. While I understand cleaning them by hand will protect them from being damaged, if you hate doing dishes like me, you may find this step cumbersome. This is probably just irritating to me (keep in mind that I am a non-cooker) but I hate that I canāt use butter or olive oil as a base in this for risk of increasing smoke emitting from the oven. Ninja recommends using avocado oil, canola oil, refined coconut oil, vegetable oil, or grapeseed oil. Granted, these are all easily accessible and I have a few of these of these in my cupboard right now. Still, I prefer cooking a lot with butter, so this will be a hard habit to break.CONCLUSION: A single person that is not a heavy cooker may not use the Ninja DoubleStack XL to its full potential. I recommend it for a family of four or more. I also recommend it for people like me who eat a lot of toasted foods but are impatient and want to cook their food fast. I also recommend it for single people who have old full-sized ovens that probably need replacing. Using this countertop oven in place of an old full-sized oven will not only be safer, but it will also be more energy-efficient too.

The Ninja DoubleStack XL Countertop Oven & Air Fryer combines pretty much every countertop appliance other than a coffee maker into one (rather large) unit. Ninja has outdone themselves with the capabilities of this cooker. Thanks to the smart DoubleStack design, you can use multiple cooking modes at the same time to prepare meals even faster.#Unboxing and first impressions#The Ninja DoubleStack XL is huge. I feel like I have to get that out of the way early because from the moment you open the box and realize it's not entirely full of packing materials you start to think it might be too big. Still, making it fit with the decor of my kitchen required re-arranging things a bit.Included in the box you get a basket for air circulation when using the air fry mode, two standard racks, two baking sheets, and the Pro Cook thermometer probe.#Using the oven#The DoubleStack basically divides its features across the top and bottom chambers. The top chamber has basic bake, broil, reheat, and toaster functions. The bottom chamber has convection bake, air fry, and roast/air roast functions. One of the coolest features of the DoubleStack is the automated "Smart Finish" mode that syncs the cooking cycles between top and bottom so they finish at the same time and your food is hot and fresh and ready to plate at the same time. The air fryer function of the DoubleStack works very well. So far I've tested it on single layers of frozen foods in the basket and it produces a nice crisp outer layer and even heating inside things like chicken nuggets and breast patties. I did notice that I need to up the temperature slightly from my previous air fryer to get the same finish. Where my previous air fryer would get a crispy outer layer at 370 degrees, I found that 390 to 400 was perfect on the DoubleStack.I've also used the toast, bake, and reheat functions in the top oven and they work as expected. The toast function with the "Shade" setting is awesome. It's super easy to get the perfect doneness on your toast.I have not used the Pro Cook sensor yet, so I cannot speak to its efficacy. However, I wanted to highlight how smart it is for the sensor to have its own magnetic attachment that sticks to the side of the DoubleStack. Makes it very easy to keep from losing this important accessory.#Conclusion#I'd recommend the DoubleStack XL for anyone looking for a do-it-all countertop oven that has a premium look at a reasonable price. It's easy to use and get good results cooking quick favorites, with the ability to cook pretty much anything you can fit into the oven. I can't wait to roast chicken and pork shoulder in this oven soon.
This is a great multipurpose air fryer/oven/toaster. It cooks quickly and both layers can be operated independently which opens up a lot of flexibility for cooking larger meals. Itās a lot bigger than your standard toaster oven, but the additional functionality more than makes up for that large size. The package includes the oven, 2 sheet pans, 2 wire racks, an air fry basket, 1 crumb tray, and an integrated thermometer. This oven is quite large compared to a conventional toaster oven, but I was able to fit it under my kitchen cabinets in the place of my toaster without having to move too much around. The power cable is a little over 3 feet long. The cook functions are navigated via a single knob that rotates and clicks and then additional functions are selected related to time/temp or whatever applies on that particular mode on 2 additional buttons. You can select the top or bottom ovens and set them up independently or simultaneously. The Smart Finish option also lets you set up the cooking so that both ovens finish at the same time. The menus and navigation seemed a little complex at first, but I was pretty dialed in on it after a couple of minutes and it felt intuitive after that. The top oven is mostly a conventional toaster oven and has variations on bake and toast functions. The baking is not as fast as the bottom oven, but it still works well and preheats quickly. As a toaster itās fantastic, especially for bagels. The bottom oven is the larger of the two and has all the air fry functionality. As an air fryer it works great - even better than the Ninja Speedi we have been using. It also works great as a convection oven. Weāve made pizza, brownies, vegetables, and various frozen appetizers on it and theyāve all turned out great. In the week or weāve had it and with daily use itās stayed pretty clean. According to the manual, the sheet pans are hand wash only and hand washing is recommended for the air fry basket. I will say the sheet pans have been through my dishwasher a few times now before I found out they were not dishwasher safe and they seemed to have held up well, but the manual warns that the finish can degrade in the dishwasher, so hand wash it is from here on out. Some miscellaneous items:- I have not had a chance to try any of the thermometer functionality yet, but I love that itās built-in and that the oven lets you cook meat to specific ādonenessā levels.- As the oven ends its cooking cycle, the lights will gently turn on, which is a nice touch.- The oven includes a recipe book with 15 different recipes ideas made specifically to utilize both of the ovens.- With this oven the fans are on the side and not the back, so itās something to keep in mind in terms of how you are turning your food if that's something you need to do.Overall Iām really happy with this oven. The 2-layer oven system combined with our conventional oven is going to make larger meals a lot simpler to handle. The amount of versatility you get from this oven is great and it replaces both my toaster and my air fryer, so itās not contributing to my kitchen gadget glut. And being more compact it works so much better in situations where you donāt need a full size oven, which for my household of 2 is most of the time. Iād definitely recommend it.
The Ninja Double Stack XL Countertop Oven & Air Fryer with Pro Cook System is a high-quality product, and I couldnāt be happier with its performance. One of the most impressive features is the incredibly fast cook times. It cooks in less than half the time of other quality toaster ovens Iāve used, and sometimes it even takes just a third of the time when it comes to toasting. This has been a huge time-saver, especially on busy weeknights. The sleek and modern interface is another aspect I appreciate, and it looks great on my countertop. That said, it does come with a bit of a learning curve. The settings arenāt the most intuitive at first, but the instructions are straightforward enough to follow, and I got the hang of it after a few uses. Once I figured it out, I was able to fully enjoy the high-quality results it delivers. The air fryer function is exceptional. It fries chicken and potatoes to perfection, delivering crispy exteriors and tender interiors with little to no oil. Every dish Iāve made with the air fryer has turned out delicious. The double stack feature is also a standout. With two racks, I essentially have three ovens. I can cook a large main dish in my regular oven, roast a side in the top section of the Ninja, and bake another dish in the bottom. This has made meal prep a breeze, especially when Iām juggling multiple dishes.Another thing I love about the Ninja Double Stack XL is the timing settings. They are precise and incredibly useful for planning meals, helping me coordinate multiple dishes at once without stress. Itās been a huge help on busy weeknights. If thereās any downside, itās that the size of the oven may be a bit large for some countertops. It works fine in my kitchen, but itās worth considering if youāre short on space. Additionally, as I mentioned before, the settings have a bit of a learning curve, but the instructions make it easy enough to figure out.Overall, the Ninja Double Stack XL has been a fantastic addition to my kitchen. Itās fast, versatile, and perfect for both quick meals and more involved cooking. The fast cook times and the double stack feature are real game-changers, making it a must-have for anyone looking to upgrade their countertop oven!
I've been using the Ninja Double Stack XL Countertop Oven & Air Fryer for a few days now, and so far I am impressed by what I have seen so far. For instance, I can air fry chicken wings on one level while baking potatoes on the other, saving both time and effort. The Pro Cook System is incredibly reliable, taking the guesswork out of cooking and ensuring perfectly cooked meals every time. The flexdoor feature creates two independent ovens, so you can access just the top oven for quick snacks and meals, or open the full door to use both ovens. Additionally, its sleek design and modern aesthetic make it a stylish addition to any kitchen. If you're in the market for a powerful, multifunctional appliance that can handle a variety of cooking tasks, I highly recommend the Ninja Double Stack XL. It's a fantastic investment for anyone looking to make meal prep easier, faster and more enjoyable.
I love Ninja air fryers so this review maybe a little biased :) ,... being as i have used similar devices from Ninja I was super excited I was able to get this beautiful Stainless Steel Double Stack XL Oven & Air Fryer. Being able to prepare multiple items at different temps for dinner at the same time in the same oven device is such a time saver, not to mention being able to sync both levels so the food is done at the same time, makes cooking dinner so much more efficient.I could go on and on about how much I just love this oven, the size is perfect for my family and counter top. Years ago, my favorite oven had a smaller, thinner oven (like a pizza oven) on top with a larger, more standard-sized oven below. We sold that oven in a house sale and have never had anything like that again. Since then, weāve become very dependent on a countertop oven that sees more usage than our regular oven by far. Our existing countertop oven has been great, but Ninja just came out with an update to their oven that combines the best of all of these: a dual countertop oven with loads of features!**Size**Since youāre probably putting this under your kitchen cabinets, youāll want to know the size of this oven. Ninja lists the dimensions as follows: 18.6 in L x 16.39 in W x 13.26 in H. Ninja lists the dimensions as follows: 18.6 in L x 16.39 in W x 13.26 in H. By comparison, my previous oven was 11.6ā tall, so the Ninja Double Stack adds a small second oven while not giving up much on the height of the main oven, and only adds about 1.25ā to the height! For me, this was a big deal, since if it wonāt fit under my cabinets, it has no place in my kitchen. The top oven compartment is ideal for baking small items such as pizza or dinner rolls or a tray of vegetables. It is definitely meant for those kinds of things, so keep that in mind. Trying to put taller items in there will result in the food touching the top and getting burned.**Controls**Ninja has done a good job of not overloading the panel with controls. Both ovens have their own time and temp buttons, and there is a dial for selecting things like cooking programs. There are 3 additional buttons for the thermometer: preset, doneness and manual. More on these later. There is one additional control, for turning on the Smart Finish feature, which allows the oven to time the completion of top and bottom ovens so that theyāll finish at the same time.**Features**The Ninja Doublestack XL includes 12 cooking programs: Bake, Broil, Reheat, Keep Warm, Toast, Bagel, Air Fry, Conv.Bake, Pizza, Air Roast, Whole Roast, and Dehydrate. These are selected by turning the dial to highlight your choice in the program list. One thing I think is pretty striking is the display. Unlike most competing ovens, there is no screen on the face of the oven. Instead, information shines through the brushed nickel finish! Before I turned it on, I assumed there was no display, but couldnāt imagine how I would know what choices to make (would it be a series of beeps?). This is a great design decision and contributes to the sleek, modern look of the oven.New for this year is a plug-in thermometer. The oven features a small port on the side (like a headphone jack) where you can plug in the thermometer. Insert the thermometer in the middle of the meat, then use the thermometer preset button to choose fish, beef, chicken or pork. You can also choose a small or large size (bottom oven only), and a doneness level (rare, medium, etc.). The choice of doneness level determines the internal temperature setting for the meat. The chicken setting only allows one temperatureā165 degrees. The manual button allows you to set a temperature to whatever you like. There is also a button labeled āSmart Finishā which ensures that both ovens finish at the same time. Details about this in the next section.**Performance**Iāve been using my Ninja Foodi grill to air fry French fries, so I wanted to see how the Double Stack would compare. Using the included air fry basket, I cooked up a batch of French fries that were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, easily as good as the results I get from the Foodi, but with less clean-up.Next, we prepared some meals using the thermometer. We dialed in the settings as described above for the top oven, then chose the settings for the bottom oven. The last step was pressing the Smart Finish button and pressing start. The oven with the shorter cooking time was automatically placed on hold while preheating the other oven. A progress bar showed how things were going on the bottom oven, while the internal temperature of the meat was shown for the top oven. Smart Finish ensured that both ovens finished at the same timeāsuper convenient! More impressive was that if I made a change to the settings for either oven during the cook, it would recalculate the total time and adjust accordingly. After turning out multiple successful meals this way, we may just cook this way all the time.Random thoughts: using the top oven as a toaster also worked well, but it does take some experimentation to find settings to your liking. One advantage a regular toaster has is that itās easier to get items out that are not laying on an oven rack. Preheating time in the top oven was only 3 minutes to reach 350 degrees, much faster than our large traditional oven. Convection airflow is noticeable in this oven, which I appreciated, coming from a previous oven that I was never sure actually circulated any air. This makes for speedy convection baking times.**Negatives**There really arenāt many, but Iāll mention two. A roast tray is not included, but really should have been, since thatās a needed accessory for roasting a whole chicken. The handle on the door, while being very attractive, is actually too big. When the door is laid down to pull food out of the oven, the handle prevents the door from laying flat, and that can make it a bit tricky to navigate the hot surfaces.**Conclusion**The Ninja Double Stack XL oven is an upgrade in multiple ways, and Iām very glad to have gotten it. Weāve had several Ninja kitchen accessories, and theyāve done it again with this one. Like all our other Ninja accessories, the Double Stack oven is built superbly and includes a plethora of thoughtful features that make it a joy to use. The only thing limiting our usage is when we need to cook a very large dish, but thankfully thatās rare. If youāre looking for a countertop oven, Iām not sure you can do better than this versatile model.
The Ninja Double Stack XL oven is versatile and convenient. With 12 functions spread across two cooking areas, you can do a lot of different things and even do some of them at the same time. It took a bit of getting used to, though. Each function has its own settings, and it took me a few sessions with the quick start guide to get the hang of how the shared controls work. Fortunately, that guide has lots of great information, so I highly recommend reading it while youāre new to the Double Stack XL. Also, the toast function cooks toast a lot more āwell doneā than I had expected (more on that later), so that also took some adjusting on my part. When I first took this out of the box, I couldnāt decide if this appliance was larger or smaller than I was expecting. Also, the toast function cooks toast a lot more āwell doneā than I had expected (more on that later), so that also took some adjusting on my part. When I first took this out of the box, I couldnāt decide if this appliance was larger or smaller than I was expecting. At first, comparing it to other countertop ovens, it seemed very large. Then I considered the two separate cooking chambers, and it seemed really compact. I soon realized that the top (smaller) chamber is large enough to do more than just toast, and that the bottom (larger) chamber can handle a sheet pan meal for a family of four. It all fits on the counter below the storage above (with a bit of room to spare), so I settled on an overall description of this being a highly efficient use of space.Weāve had this for a few days, and Iāve used it for simple stuff like toasting bread and bagels and gotten as adventurous as baking cookies on top while also roasting chicken and veggies in the bottom and air frying potatoes on the bottom while also broiling sausage links on top. Being able to do separate things in the same appliance (and even synchronize finish times) is convenient. The integrated thermometer, allowing me to ensure meats are cooked properly without opening the door to check a temp, has really improved my culinary game.My one complaint so far might be that the ātoastā function makes bread way darker than you might think. This model was an upgrade for me from another Ninja countertop oven. On the previous model, I was usually using the āshadeā setting of 3 or 4 often and getting medium toast. On this model, shade 3 (out of 7) makes my (store-bought whole-wheat bread) VERY dark, and 4 straight up burns the edges. Now that Iāve re-calibrated my expectations, I just always use settings 1 or 2. It makes me wonder if there are other settings that I just havenāt gotten to try yet that will also take some getting used to.Overall, Iām glad to add the Ninja Double Stack XL to my kitchen countertop. I think Iāve used it every day since it came out of the box, and expect it will get frequent, regular use moving forward. I'll continue to get used to how it works and think up new ways to cook two things at once!
