Neutrogena Rapid Tone Repair Correcting Cream 1.7 oz

I have been using the Neutrogena Rapid Correcting Cream for about a month. I use it twice a day after cleansing and applying serums. The correcting cream contains vitamin C, retinol, and hyaluronic acid. The Neutrogena website claims that the correcting cream “is clinically proven to help reduce the look of even the most stubborn dark spots and diminish the look of discoloration and blotchiness while smoothing the look of fine lines and fading the look of deep wrinkles.” Fortunately, I do not have many fine lines or deep wrinkles, but I do have redness, blotchiness, and acne scars. I couldn’t believe how nice my skin looked and how so much of the texture on my forehead was gone! My only complaint is that it stings a little when I first apply it. I have somewhat sensitive skin, but the sting is only temporary and it’s nothing I can’t handle. I think this cream is amazing and does everything it claims to do! Lotions always make me nervous because my skin likes to get very, very angry. I take this reviewing business very serious, so I stopped using all of my other moisturizers/serums and used only this for a week, along with the accompanying serum (which I also ended up loving!). I had just bought a $75 Philosohy moisturizer and it both broke me out and didn’t hydrate well. I’ll take this. Excellent product - improves my skin texture, subjectively helped with hyperpigmentation, affordable and feels great on the skin. I will repurchase both this and the serum when I run out. It is surprisingly lightweight, absorbs quickly and did not make me feel oily at all. On the same note, this did not provide much hydration so I don't think this would work well for dry skin. A week, as always, isn't really enough to fully form an opinion but I wanted to test their claim. That said, I don't think there are any noticeable positive changes. The attached picture with a headband is my starting point, one without is 7 days later. Both taken in the AM after cleansing only. I am curious to see if I'll notice any significant effects once I adjust usage. It is too soon for me to be able to really recommend it, but I will definitely keep using this as a night cream a few times a week, alternating with exfoliation nights. For me, using it this way will last me a long time so that is decent value (cost is USD 35.49 for 1.7 oz/48 g per the company website). It's also much too soon to predict if I'll repurchase it once I've used it up but for right now I do like it - just don't follow the twice daily application recommendation.

Third, the product really seems to be working! now full disclosure, I got 2 different skincare Voxboxes at the same time, so it might be this particular product or a combination of 2 or 3 of 5he different products that came in the boxes... But what I LIKE about it is that there's no tingling or burning for me. I don't know the Vitamin C concentration or the % of retinal in the Retinol SA they have, but I found this product is lightening my dark marks, and I see the cell turnover. My skin is much less inflamed than when I started using it a week ago. NOW, the skin on the bottom of my nose IS peeling, but the skin is thinner there anyway, so that makes sense. Overall, this is a product I would actually buy again, and considering it's drugstore, I think the price point is probably fair.

I received this product a while ago in a Vox Box and finally have used enough to write an honest review. My skin isn't usually sensitive to retinol or vitamin C products, but every time I used this product, my skin would break out. I thought it was just a purging stage, but even after persistent use of more than a month and a half, my acne (that I didn't have before) would not go away until I stopped using it. It does have a combination of 3 harsh products (vitamin C, retinal, and SA) so it could possibly be because my skin does not like all 3 ingredients in 1 product. I would not recommend this based on my experience. I used the rest of the cream (1/3 of the jar) for my hands and neck which did not cause any issues. The scent was nice.

To start, the scent is amazing! This may be a turn off for some but I love how fresh it smells and don’t find it very overpowering. The cream is pretty thick and little bit goes a long way. Considering how thick it is, I was surprised that it wasn’t greasy and absorbed into my skin quickly. Shortly after application, my skin felt a little tight and tingly but it lasted maybe 30 seconds. My eyelids and undereyes are scaly and flaking and the outer corners of my eyes have these scabby marks that almost look like burns. My skin is taut and a little painful, while the dark marks that I tried to fade on my cheeks and around my mouth are still there. I cannot give this product a positive review and I will probably need to talk to an esthetician or a dermatologist to see how I can resolve this. Again, I really wanted to love these products because popular skincare has become so expensive.

BEWARE

I used this for a week because TIK TOK influencer recommended and I had the WORST reaction. My eyes are super swollen, itchy and red. I’m going on day 3 like this I’m applying ice all day long for itching and taking Benadryl. Please please beware. It’s a horrible feeling. Sucks people come on here to review and say it’s good when I’m reality this stuff can really affect some people. These influencers get paid remember that. Yes it’s affordable but not worth it. Spend a little more and get more natural creams. Super disappointed

Literally burned my skin off

I have sensitive skin and Neutrogena is my one number brand for skin products, from face wash to makeup. This is first time my skin has ever reacted to a product. I even tried the Rapid Tone Repair 20% Vitamin C Serum Capsules with no problem.I used this product for three days. I noticed after the first use (2 applications) that my skin was extremely irritated, especially around my eyes, and hurt to touch. The next morning I realized my skin was excessively peeling off in those red, irritated areas. I read the label to see that mild redness and skin flaking are normal, temporary effects, so I continued to use the product and leaving the space around my eyes. I cannot put anything on my face including lotion without feeling a searing pain.I gave this two stars instead of one because it did seem to reduce my sun/dark spots within three days. The side effects are just not worth the results for me. I physically cannot use this product without being in severe pain. I am left with swollen, red, patchy and bumped skin that I am sure when it will heal. I am not attaching photos sinceI am embarrassed at the state of my face. I afraid to use this product again even with reduced use.

Need a gender neutral scent.

As a man looking for a cream with matching attributes, I'm very disappointed in the scent. Obviously very feminine, but not advertised as such. This will push 99% of men looking for a product like this away. Might I suggest a gender neutral smell, or a men's version. Haven't seen spot reduction as yet, at least not noticable. Does "burn" a little for a bit after application. Possible adverse reaction in application area when out in the sun causing slight burning again.
