Netgear Nighthawk Tri-Band AX8 8-Stream AX6600 Wifi 6 Router

I was having all sorts of trouble with wifi access in my apartment with my previous router. The signal was degrading a matter of feet away from the router let alone through walls and video streaming was near impossible. Google searches suggested that the 'Nighthawk' was the premium device in the market so I took the plunge. My experience so far backs that up. I have a 300m2 property and I get no degradation whatsoever of the wifi signal at any part of the property inside or out. Set up was a breeze. I'm used to the set-up-via-a-browser process so I was reluctant to use the Netgear app. I'm glad I did though. I guess only time will tell but I'm confident that this thing will last me a long time. If I'm correct it will have more than justified the price I paid. The only negative is that it's not the best-looking device out there. I can overlook the aesthetics because of the performance but if it was available in white (so it could more easily blend in with the background) that would have been good. I'm clutching at straws here though. This is an A-grade device that I can 100% recommend.

Have had this router for over t. Really like the Genie app for managing it. Lately mutiple devices have stopped seeing the router, reporting either its not there or the passwork is invalid. Even the default NETGEAR70 port no longer. Tried using the MAC address log into it without success. When I look at the supported models in Nighthawk the AC6600 is skipped over. Am unable to get into the Advanced router management option, because of an invalid password result after it times out. Can't even get a report of when the last firmware update isn't available. Since the warantee is only good for 1 year, can't get help from support. Recently changed from Consolidate Commuications to Xfinity. Even before the cutover, I was seeing connection problems. Genie reports the 10.0.0.1 internet connected device, but my Thermostat and other related devices that looked for 192.168.1.1 network no longer connect. At this point I'm leery of buying another Netgear router due to the short lifespan and lack of support after 1 year.

In a bout of total frustration, my husband and I chose to purchase this. I swore up and down if it didn't work we were returning it immediately - it is a true investment. Connecting it was so easy, even my husband, who is beyond NOT tech savvy, was comfortable. In under 15 minutes, we were up and running. The Nighthawk is powerful, and we now have better speed than we did in the past 7 years.
