Always wanted the Suprim! driving my UW monitor with ease and well paired with a 5800x3D. Runs very cool and quiet, even on default "silent" bios, have not peaked over 65 deg under load. Frame Gen is a god send esp for games like Hogwarts. This is a fantastic GPU. It’s very expensive, but then that’s just the market at the moment. Can’t fault the card though. Performance is incredible and I’m running it with a 5950x which isn’t bottlenecking for my applications, but is on the slightly older side now. There aren’t many games that support DLSS 3 at the moment (DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE NVIDIA MARKETING, THESE GAMES BEING SHOWED OFF AREN’T UPDATED YET TO SUPPORT DLSS 3), but as more appear the performance will only improve.Just be aware of the size of this card if you get it. It is a MONSTER and I had to buy a larger case and rebuild my system around the size of this card. My poor little Fractal Meshify C was just never going to cut it.
Built a new gaming computer over the holidays 2022/2023 12900k / 4080 buildThis card performs AMAZING. The fans are very quite, I hear the internal 140MM case fans but not the GPU fans, Runs very cool, haven't had it reach 70 degree! have not found a game yet that it won't handle max graphic settings.The fan shroud looks great!! the other side has a nice black finish with MSI logosRGB's look awesome but not like a circus! very chill Highly Recommend !!Side Notes :Many reviews claim the 4080 isn't worth the Money value, This card alone jumps a fair bit at bestbuy for the same card in 4090. Just get into the 40 series and enjoy!!!!depending what PSU you buy I also highly recommend the GPU cables Bestbuy also sells!
For a price perspective, ouch! it's more expensive than ever. and for anyone on RTX 3080+, which i had the 3080 10G bought at msrp, it's not really a worthwhile upgrade, that's considering if you game at 1440P or some other std resolution; unfortunately I upgraded my monitor recently to Ultrawide, which puts it somewhere between 1440P and 4K and there are certain games that the 3080 is starting to lag behind. the 10GB of vram certainly isn't helping. yes i'm looking at you Hogwarts, I literally had to turn on DLSS and turn everything down to medium just to get close to 100 FPS!! i want that 100+ though! i'm used to it! this 4080? FH5 on native UW now can run 144 FPS max at EXTREME settings. Purchased a baseball cap from Scan on a Sunday night. Much to my surprise it arrived the very next day. I couldn’t believe my luck when I opened the box, not only to see my new branded hat but also a MSI SuprimX 4080! Praise the lord! Seriously though, the card is an absolute monster, not only in size but also with regards to its raw performance and cooling capabilities. Make sure your case can accommodate this leviathan and that you have sufficient clearance for airflow. I’ve read a lot of people complain about coin whine with this generation but I haven’t experienced any to a level that’s intrusive or distracting. Did a new Raptor Lake 13700k build and happy the way it turned out but I can't recommend a 4080 at the current price. Went with MSI to match the motherboard and GPU to simplify things. So far I'm blown away by the performance of the new rig but I do get some coil whine from the 4080 that can be quite loud at times. I've heard this about other cards too so I'm not really sure if it's excessive/normal or not but I'll look into it some more. MSI's Mystic Light SW isn't the best but at least I can set my lighting and turn off the app from startup. It's also able to control other components lighting like my GSkill RAM so that's a nice bonus. So far I'm pretty happy but we'll see how the pricing holds up on these cards when the 7900's launch in a couple weeks. I’ve had this a few weeks now and have no complaints. First desktop build and just came from a gaming laptop. This thing is insanely quiet! Even the when using the gaming mode switch on the card (not clear what difference it does, bench marks are the same when in silent and gaming mode). Online professional reviews show this runs a bit cooler than the FE which it probably does. Only con is the price but Nvidia is likely dropping the price next week. Time of posting is mid December.You will absolutely need cablemods 90 or 180 degree adapter if you want it to fit in a case. I just ordered a vertical mount to get it in the case properly.
I bought this RTX 4080 Suprim X on release day at the Cambridge MA. Microcenter along with an open box i7 13700K for $322.96 (great price!) to "upgrade" my kids PC from an RTX 3090 Suprim X and i9 12900K. I wanted the 4090 but dropped the ball on release day and slept in. He runs two curved monitors side by side, one is 32" 4K 160Hz OC (144Hz non OC), the other is 32" 1440p 165Hz, so these components are being used to their potential. I have witnessed a drastic decrease in heat and noise at stock settings and quite a moderate performance increase, I haven't seen the GPU go above 58° Celsius even with a decent OC (Lian Li O11 XL case with 13 fans).
