While this board does support the latest AMD Ryzen's, what Newegg is shipping will not support them out of the box.

I was looking forward to trying this MSI B450-A PRO board. Been a bit of a headache ever since. First board was faulty. Getting a replacement took ages and many emails. Second board works but with 64GB of G.Skilljaws 3200mhz was surprisingly slow. I've since read this board was designed as a gaming board rather than a multi-purpose. Has some nice features on it would I buy another one? No. A gamer may have a totally different perspective on it.

Cheap motherboard, no lights, but exactly what I wanted. Newest BIOS out of the box so I didn't even have to use the BIOS Flashback. Ryzen 3 3200g worked and then replaced with Ryzen 7 1800x with no problem. Compatible with all of my components. I chose it from pcpartpicker.com for its low price and the fact it only uses 8 pin power connector as my Corsair 850cx processor and board power connectors are non modular. Very happy.
I've watched reviews on this board and it does have issues with VRM capacity/heat, but I knew that wouldn't be an issue for me since I'm running a 6 core non-OC'd CPU on it. However what I didn't expect for a "Pro" board is the problems I had dealing with SATA drives and the BIOS. I installed Win10 on the NVMe port for which I had no issues. Now, I don't know if I would have had problems with the original BIOS, but since there's a chance this board could be upgraded later I figure I'd at least update the BIOS to the latest non-BETA BIOS, which adds the latest AGESA and more CPU info for Zen 2 XT CPUs and I believe even Zen 3. I assumed that maybe you have to start loading drives from the first port going up, so I moved the cable to port 1, and it worked. Not ideal since that port points up instead of coming off the side like modern SATA ports do. Makes the system look cluttered with cables instead of a nice clean look of a port coming off the side and the cable goes straight to a cable guide. Anyway after adding two drives, one for cloning, I went ahead and cloned the Win10 boot drive after getting my apps installed. After rebooting the system, the BIOS reset the boot drive to the clone, and in fact wouldn't even let me select the NVMe drive. WHAT????????? The setting disappeared. I booted from the clone to test it, and the system hung. It was stuck in the boot process, and after a few minutes I reset the system and unplugged the clone. I then got back the boot drive setting for the NVMe, but now that drive had a problem. So, I had to fix the boot drive, and redo the clone. This time, I had to unplug the clone drive to make sure the system still worked, and THEN I removed the NVMe drive, and plugged in the clone, and FINALLY the clone worked. I don't know what went wrong, but it seems like during the boot with the clone AND the NVMe plugged in, it was trying to access the NVMe drive even though it was supposed to boot from the clone. The process gave me a corruption error, but I don't think any files were destroyed luckily. I've NEVER had an issue like this before with a Mainboard and drives, with losing boot settings, not seeing my NVMe drive just because there is NOW another Win10 SATA drive in the system, etc....... I've simply been able to select the clone during the boot process to test the clone, and then once tested, remove the drive. Maybe this is a BIOS update issue, but whatever it is, it's NOT professional. I should have been able to plug a SATA drive into ANY port and the drive works, and I should lose boot drive settings just because there is now another boot drive in the system. I shouldn't have to remove my NVMe drive with Win10 on it in fear that testing the clone will destroy the NVMe drive. So, this is a fail. These are simple things that should just work.
I ordered 2 of these. Right out of the box both would display diagnostic LEDS (one CPU one DRAM) and would not post. RMA'd both of them. Received 2 replacements. 1 working fine. Other one the dreaded DRAM LED and would not POST. Swapped out CPU, RAM, HDD, PSU to make sure it wasnt just me. Swapped out another set of CPU etc from a known working computer. Nope defective motherboard. Cheapest option is not always best option.
We bought this board for a new workbench PC for our office. We got it to boot and messed around a little last week then didnt use it as we were busy with existing projects. I went to boot it this week and it reported USB over current. The only USB devices plugged into it was a mouse. The keyboard was using the PS2 port. I changed power supplies and disconnected everything (including the front IO) from the mobo except the GPU. Still got the USB Over current error. Time to RMA.
My main operating system is Linux. Not Windows. I was a little worried that I would have to switch a few things in the BIOS in order for it to let me boot into Linux distros, but it booted right into them with no changes to the BIOS at all. Which was a nice surprise since some other boards from other makers weren't so smooth. This alone will keep me buying MSI boards in the future. I chose this board because I wanted something darker colored and non RGB. This was the best ATX board I could find that fit that description.
As a crypto-miner i already have 3 or 4 of these boards up and running so no surprises with board operations.. This is an awesome board for mining with. I'm running 6 cards on all of them with gen 2 and 3 amd cpus.. not messing with bios updates for either gen. or messing with bios settings (only setting i had to adjust was "power on with AC") other than that it's plug-n-chug and your up and running in no time. This purchase was more of a "hello world" type transaction, meaning does newegg actually accept doge and how is buy with crypto going to work? any hidden things? happy to report newegg accepts most major coins whoop whoop!
