I am so happy about my beautifully made, sharp, incredible knife. I love that it’s lightweight so all my cooking and chopping doesn’t strain my wrist/hand. It was pricier but I’m hoping you get what you pay for and the quality withstands the rest of time in the kitchen

First time buying this brand. The 5” Artisan Prep knife is by far the sharpest knife I’ve ever used. The size is perfect - smaller than a chef’s knife and larger than a paring knife. I can see myself using this knife every day! And it’s beautiful!

I was looking for my first high quality utility knife and I decided on this one. It's balances well in my hands and the edge stays sharp. It's also very beautiful. I'd highly recommend!
This is a great Utility knife. It for one is beautiful. The hammered Tsuchime finish really makes such a big difference when chopping or slicing produce or starchy foods like potatoes and not sticking to the knife. I like how this is such a sharp blade thanks to the ice hardening aspect. The Cocobolo wood D-Shaped handle fits perfectly in my hand and makes for a comfort experience as I chop and cut produce. The knife is sharp and durable, what more can you want in an Utility knife!
This Miyabi Artisan 5" Utility is my go-to knife, either cutting or slicing fruits, vegetables, or a knife to slice butter. This utility knife becomes my daily steak knife, for its sharpness and narrow blade is comfortable to use for. It's my go-to utility knife prepping food in my kitchen, blades deliver scalpel-like sharpness. Its potent core of SG2 micro-carbide powder steel is layered in a Tsuchime finish. CRYODUR blade, ice-hardened to Rockwell 63 Handle. The D shape handle and it is fabricated with special Cocobolo Rosewood pakkawood, it is so comfortable in your hand my family enjoy using this knife.
Artisan is a thing of beauty! The first attraction for me is the "hammered" blade; it's such a unque finish but it's also going to help keep food from sticking to the blade. The SG2 steel is very hard which guarantees it will have amazing edge retention. It also boasts that crazy sharp Asian edge angle. The rosewood handle has a nice round curve which fits very comfortably in your hand.A prep knife is such a great blade. It can handle those tasks that are too big for a parer but using a chef knife would just be overkill. If you are wanting an authentic Japanese knife, end your search with Miyabi. They are made and sold in Japan as the premium knife.
The size is just right to deal with s great variety of items from small/medium vegetables and similarly sized meats. The sharpness is of the usual Miyabi standards and the knife slices through items with ease. On top of that, the action of the knife in the hand appears almost effortless.
This is a great knife. It fits that niche between my paring knife and chefs knife. I use it for most of my fruit and vegetable prep. The Pakkawood handle is very comfortable to hold and use both on the cutting board and in hand. The blade is very sharp and has an acute angle giving thin accurate cuts. The knife is also great to look at. The mosaic pin and gold and red accents in the handle really stand out. The hammered and sand blasted blade are very unique. The Japanese craftsmanship and artistry are evident throughout this knife.
I love everything about this knife. The wooden handle is very distinct with the gold and red accents. It is also very comfortable to hold. The blade design is cool with part of it hammered and the lower portion sand blasted. The super hard high carbon steel stays sharp for a very long time and is easy to maintain. The blade shape is great for prep. It gives me a smaller knife for quick small prep but with an offset handle for use on a cutting board you dont get with a pairing knife.

This Miyabi 6000 MCT 13cm Shotoh Brown Chef's Knife is a perfect balance of hardness, sharpness, and strength. The blade core is made of MicroCarbide MC63 powder steel embedded in 2 layers of steel. This provides a hardness of approx. 63 Rockwell (International standard unit of measurement for hardness). Cryodur ice-hardened blades provide particularly good cutting edge retention, corrosion resistance and optimum blade flexibility. The authentic Japanese blade profile with Tsuchime look (hammered finish) ensures incredible sharpness while the symmetrical blade with ultra-sharp Honbazuke edge provides flawless cuts. This knife is made from dimensionally-stable pakka wood which provides a perfect balance, outstanding comfort and fatigue-free cutting with any type of food that you use it for. Thanks to the ultra-sharp blade, this knife packs a powerful punch when it comes to chopping and dicing things like fruit and even tougher vegetables and larger cuts of meat or fish with complete ease and precision. To ensure the knife stays in the best shape possible, it should be sharpened regularly, and should be cleaned only with warm water and a light detergent before being left to fully dry in between each use. It shouldn't be used in the dishwasher, submerged in water, or cleaned with a hard or rough sponge that could cause damage to the blade. This knife would make the perfect gift for someone who loves to cook - or even just a treat to yourself if your current knives are starting to look a bit worn and you'd like to get some professional quality knives that you know will last.
